The mesmer is likely coming back as our third scholar. This leaves two adventurer professions... and it's a tough call here. There's an assassiny-roguish type coming, and I believe we'll also see a corsair/pirate type. The question is, will they be one in the same or two unique professions?
My guess, which is just as likely to be wrong as right (hell, more likely wrong, but let's keep that part quiet...)
Mesmer, scholar.
Corsair/Pirate, Adventurer. (Pet class, bird type pets as extensions of the corsairs abilities - scouting, etc.)
The last... well, it won't be named "assassin" or "rogue". But, it'll have elements of both, with possibly a little stealth mechanics in there.
Alternate:
Mesmer
Corsair/Pirate (as the assassiny-roguish one)
Different adventurer (NOT "gunner" or "engineer").
Originally posted by Zenakou We need a sticky of a class speculation thread because previous threads detailed plenty of information on what the next classes will be. An early poster already said it though, but our next classes will be mesmer, assassin, and a tech based class of some sort, I don't like using gunner because the class won't be specific to guns and tactician sounds meh so I'll name it the gadgeteer.
The guy who keeps calling the class 'engineer' above linked to a wikipedia article of combat engineering (not real engineering BTW) and in the article it mentions that combat 'engineers' are most commonly called sappers. For all intents and speculation, thats what we have been talking about as far as possible mechanics for the other unknown adventurer class goes--controlling enemy movements and dealing damage through tactical placements. While I still prefer tactician as the name of choice, sapper is a good one too.
I also agree that the order will be adventurer-scholar-adventurer and that mesmer will return. But I think mesmers will be changed a bit, and have martial capabilities. I think they will be almost rogue-ish will illusional powers and fighting with swords, like a duelist. Now if we have the mesmer as the rogue-ish, stealthy profession, I don't think we will have an assassin that plays such a similar role. There was a concept art called "slayer" along with "gunner". Slayers would be all about wearing light armor and wielding huge weapons, with a play-style strategy of killing foes before they kill you. Then the gunner would be all about enhancing themselves (like a dervish) or creating constructs (like an engineer from warhammer) to over power the foes and set up the battlefield. When it comes to stealth, the mesmer has it. When it comes to agility, the gunner would have it. When it comes to killing quickly, the slayer would have it. I don't think there will be the classical assassin, but its traits will be divided between these professions.

I read in a gw2 article that all the information that they release isnt based on a preconceived timetable, and that any info or new profession reveal we get is solely based on when they finish polishing that particular feature or profession
I take arena net at their word so from that its anyones guess which profession they finish next.
Imma guess it will either be the mesmer, engineer, or an assasin. I feel like the engineer is more than likely the next to be revealed, but again its all chance.

I hope there is a class that uses technology and machinery. I must admit I kind of hope there is no mesmer class just to enjoy all the qq.
