Well, we have a week till the server launches so I guess I can fiddle around with low level classes to see which I like best. I'm not a fan of kiting too much so I guess I'll try a pet class.

I'm sure they'll reactivate yours as well, just keep checking back, if your account lists the game as Pending you'll be good to go.
They reactivated mine seconds after I made the above post.
It shows mine as pending (active till the 21/2) under subscriptions too - im tempted to have a look for old time sake although I think the game style will drive me nuts fairly quickly
I downloaded the escape to Norrath installer but it does not change to play just updating but it has finished downloading.Does anyone know where I can get the client for the game then ? Oh this works only if you do not have an existing account so does anyone know where to get the client ?
For some reason I got the itch to check out my very very old eq 1 account, and to my suprise notice my account from 2001 is active until the 21st. Yaaaa lol. But my other eq account from 2010 isn't, o well. I will see you people on fippy :-)

When I checked the Guild Board it would appear there are quite a few OTGers looking forward to the Progression Server. I don't know any further details as far as establishing a chapter on the new Progression Server. I did post a link to this thread so they would know our accounts are active.

Just a tip, if your getting terrible download speeds from the EQ self launcher. I was getting around 100kbs, so I tried the SoE launcher to download EQ and now im getting 2.1-2.6 mbs. Hope this helps.
By progression server do they mean it will release the original EQ with no expansions and then add the expansions at the same rate they were originally added?
Check out other threads for exact details, but it goes something like this:
Certain events (like killing of raid mobs) trigger a move to the next expansion - BUT unlike the previous progression server they made, this one has a grace period where it will stay in the current expansion (2-3 months) and then there players vote to progress to next expansion or stay longer with the one currently in play. So in my opinion an ok pace of expansions, and you can probably expect something like Kunark summer, Velious Fall, Luclin in a year maybe ? But also depends on how player votes.
As for accounts, I have one that has gotten enabled, and two that hasnt - Some guess its a batch process so check again in a few days ?.
Well I went to the eye doctor and got back to find the downloads done. Have a ticket turned in as my level 60 something necro is missing from brisstlebane, in fact I cant find any of my toons, I guess thats what I get for being gone for 4 years.
Go to eqplayers.station.sony.com, click on login on the left. After logging in, click on characters. See if it lists any characters. If it does then it should tell you what servers they're on. Some server merges may have your characters on a different server. Also a lot of people made mistakes of thinking their chars are on one account when it's on another (read many posts about it).

Yes but they are not available for the progression server think the expansion is Shadows over Luclin.
Yeah they are, from what I hear they get pretty awesome pets and pet buffs. But I'm sure they wont be available for awhile after classic release.

The only thing you want to download is Everquest Launcher.
Install that and it'll download & patch everything you need. Escape to norrath is the trial client, don't use that for the regular game.

Is there any disadvantages to using the old models I never liked the Luclin ones ?
