Although server side patches that do things like increase performance and fix some bugs dont require you to download anything, wich might lead people to believe nothing is being done at all so far. But i'm still not impressed so far even though its only been a week. Many issues are still around since Beta. Hopefully they get it together.
Thats a developer chat from like today with the producer.
I think it speaks volumes that they really have no ideal what is going on, nor are they listening to people. Just like the holding down alt (or whatever key it was) to attack friendlies. There answer was No, we have no plans to make it a toggle even though everone wants it to be. We dont want people to accidently shoot friendlies.
I really like the server location question. Even though the server has been traced and pointed to exactly the same location it was during beta. There answer was that its moved, even though it still trace routes and appears to be in the same location and even has the same preformance as the beta server did.
Lol thomas im actually curious about that, i actually just got the game felt sorry for them dont wan to see the nice gameworld go to waste, but i am going to do a trace to see where it leads me, if its not in new york im going to call out ostiak on the forums about it, then again that is until they fix the fact that my new keys cant be registered, week after release and they still havent fixed that rofl, such lulz.

There where several people doing traces and such an posting on the offical forums. One guy ran a packet sniffer in the background to catch the information and it showed the exact same server ip's that was being used for the beta client.
In game durning the beta one of the GM's said that they where looking for between 20k and 30k subscriptions. That at that point the game would be doing good and be semi profitable.
At the rate things are going and the lack of patchs (quality patchs) and information from the devs, I really dont see the game sticking around for too long. Maybe 6 months if enough people buy the game.
They knew about the lag and preformance issues over 2 months ago and they kept saying that there would be a patch at release that fixs it. Now release has come and gone and the lag and preformance issues have only gotten worse as more people are getting in the game.
If they couldnt fix the issues in 2 months time then how are we to expect they are ever going to be fixed?
there was info handed out in a dev q/a in the irc. there a patch this week ( im wonderign whats wrong with there server side shit tho
my thing is that if they don't have trials available by now then they're hurting, and may not last the year as a pay to play mmorpg. that being said i think mortal online is still going and that game seems to be in more dire shape then earthrise.
That is a question thats just too difficult to answer right now, with most sandboxes on release they are utter garbage, but then some how they seem to pull a blinder on the community and become vastly popular after a couple of years or so.
Earthrise is not fit for purpose in its current state but thats not to say in a few months to a years time it wont become another EVE but on the ground.
I will admit that i have a negative bias now against MHS but progress of this game leads me to believe that this game wont be supported long, judging by previuos experience with MMORPGs that were way better than this and still failed (APB)
My prediction that this project will last another 2-3 months untill they starve for income, and they will starve because in 3 months not many people will be back to this game.
What do you think?
I think you have no clue what your talking about. The game is awesome, if you look beyond the performance issues. Once fixed this game will flourish. It has a couple of things no other mmo has done well recently
Awesome indepth, technical crafting system with links into a player driven economy
Great scifi landscape, enviroment , lore
Deep deep player customisation
The devs have a road map up to the middle of the year, looking forward to the growth and developemnt of what is for me the best sandbox out there currently on the market.
Happy for folks to say the games shit or not oging to last because everybody entitled to their opinion however this game feels very much like SWG, EvE, DF and others that have started rough and gone on to good things.
