Surprisingly enough to myself I will be staying past the free month. I absolutely hated this game in beta, it bored me to tears, but I had some impulse to buy it to mess around with the class system more and have been having a blast.
Yeah i am staying! 1. Like many of you saying "no" i am actually playing the game not just shooting it down. and 2. i did not burn myself out by power leveling. I am enjoying the adventure and discovering the new areas. I like it very much so far.
Got bored fast, and hate the graphics. Vastly prefer WoW's and WAR's graphics to Rift's, and that's saying something. The very thought of WoW bores me, but every time I try another MMO I remember why I wouldn't really play anything else--but not currently subbed to WoW, enjoying League of Legends at the moment.
Won't somebody please put out a decent MMO that isn't a bug-ridden, cliche-ridden carbon copy of all the others?

You prefer WAR gfx? Rift has the exact same engine with less lag. Odd how you saw a difference at all.

Gudrunix may be referring to the graphics style as much as it's technical rendering. Many Players do this.

If you don't like it cool, go find something else, I've been looking for quite some time, not saying I'll feel this way in a year, but for now, its worth my money.
Yes I will be staying. I am having alot of fun in game and am no longer "waiting" for others to be released. However, I'll likely check others out when they do come out.
This also seems like a lot more votes than polls normally get on these boards.

I dont regret buying the game, tbh I had a great time levelling and doing dungeons, however past the t1 and t2 content I find myself a little bored with the rifts, rift raids, rift experts and especially crafting. I guess its because I loved swg so much for the crafting and ultimately can't settle for the superficial crafting spheres every mmo cept perhaps Vanguard has had since.
I also am one of those no-lifers who enjoy the levelling part more than what comes after The friendly competition towards max level, and co-op with the other fast levellers for dungeons and group quests otw to 50 was the most fun I had in Rift.
Ultimately I already know Rift isnt my game, so subbing would be a waste of money. However, I understand the people that so enjoy rift and I wish them well and hope the game stays on a track they can enjoy for many years.
Originally posted by Seggallion No, it wasn't a game for me. Tho I didn't like WoW eaither. They're not bad games, it's just that I'm not getting the right feeling with those games.

Is Rift the best game in the world? Nah. Is it one of the best options right now for fun? Yes. I cancelled my WOW account and have been supporting Trion and will definately into next month and beyond for the fundamental reason that for all the money that Blizzard makes, there is still nothing for the casual player to do besides recycle old content and raid.
Sure, Rift might be exactly the same at level 50 and Im not there yet but its gameplay is smooth and I am still very much interested in seeing the short term future of it.
Outside of the VERY dated EQ2 I really just want a game that offers player housing and other more casual time sinks.
Fun. Casual. Few issues since release (relatively seaking compared to some).
Invasions, Footholds, and RIFTS are still fun even if repetative. The soul system is a nice innovation that encourages experimentation so I have one of each class and enjoy playing them all.
I'll play until something else catches my attention.

I didnt vote. There should be a havent decided option.
My problem is that you go up to level 50 then play a bit of endgame, some PvP, and a few quests that are there, but then what. I am not seeing the content keeping me interested much past 50 and creating an alt to do the same story and quests over again can get boring after awhile.
But with that said, I am in a great guild that is fairly large and is adding people daily. There is allot of grouping and guild activities we are doing also. As long as that continues to happen I dont see canceling for at least another 3 months. After the 3 months, and I decide to stay, then the only thing that would make me cancel is if any of those things stop or GW2 finally releases months down the road.
I will stay until i get a char @ 50 and then reassess the situation once i'm there, depends really on how easy to find groups because at the moment on Icewatch EU server it's a bit of a nightmare finding a group for dungeons (i'm lvl25 atm).
This also seems like a lot more votes than polls normally get on these boards.
Only problem is there is literally no way at all to tell..how many people logged into serveral
accounts and votes No or Yes...also how many people do not even play the game who said no?
The thread is more useful for the discussion it creates.
I played during the beta but don't play now and I said YES just BECAUSE so many people say no. I wanted to see the results and didn't want to skew the results negatively, so I voted yes. So.....you don't know how many people might have done that either.
(I know, I know...probably not as many. I'm kind of strange.)

I'm staying until something better somes along.
Nope.
Under this theory GW2 and SWToR are already dead because their first day population will not be as heavy as there one week populations.
People are not playing 24 hours a day anymore. Notice the queue's have died down?
also stopped renewal. guess i should have learned lesson with warhammer fool me once....
have fun those that remain.

No, the higher I level the more the boredom sets in. I don't hate the game it's just not for me past the mid 30s.
Not staying.

Yes currently the wife and I are subbed for 6 months. I am taking my time and I have toons from 12-27 but I am waiting on SwToR and the Secret World.
Staying, its excellent.

Voted no, because Im leaning towards not subbing.

Not staying. I was bored to tears within a week and back on Vanguard looking for something challenging and fun to do.

You should definitely give LOTRO (Lord of the Rings Online) a try then. And the best part is that it's totally free until way past level 25ish now.
