No one should draw a line? So you're saying there should be no line that is unacceptable to cross. You're literally saying that child pornography in video games is acceptable.
I know this isn't child pornography, but they are drawing a line that keeps them FAR from any controversy about sexually provocative images of children. It is better to be safe than to get sued by a parent who buys this game for their child.
Since when are uncovered legs concidered pornography? I have seen a lot 14-15 yo girls in miniskirts going to school and there is nothing wrong with that,since their parents are aware of it. If people see a girl's legs and knees and think of how hot they are,then the fault is in their own mind.With the same logic they should remove the swords and guns and make people fight in game with wooden sticks,so they don't get provoked in committing crimes. It is a freaking fantasy game rated 18+ .
But i guess after all everything will get censored and dumped down for us EU/NA people since they don't wanna lose the big 15-18 audience.
Don't truly understand the censorship argument. What a company does with it's product or the creation of one of it's employees (still it's product) is merely a business decision. The employess...if it's like any other business...sign away certain controls upon employment. Again...not really censorship..just a business choice.

This mostly is about the ESRB rating it was going to get slapped with here in the NA/EU. They probably said "change it or you will get an AO rating". I think they want to keep it with in the "M" / +18 rating.

In Japan, artists draw thick black lines over parts of private parts. That's still censorship, even if it's done voluntarily. :T

Wether the sensorship is warranted or not should come second to you figuring out why the inability to see something like this in game effects you so greatly.

I'm honestly fine with either. I don't really see the Elin as sexual so I don't mind the bikini bottom verision, nor do I think its game breaking that they have put some pants on them (after all, she's suppose to have some leg equipment slotted right?). What I will say is, however, that those pants don't look very good. It looks like a patch job for sure. Instead of some ugly pants why not something that looks like actual stockings or ,if we're being more conservative, a pair of shorts or capris. That still works for the cute image right?
As for the ears, I just assume that they'll show back up in the final build. I'm not really an Elin follower but taking them away just seems silly.
Yes i would consider that censorship...because the artist is not employed by walmart. If atlantic records has control over and artist content and decides that he should edit his/her lyrics...then no. The artist signed a contract and shouldn't be surprised. There is a difference between editing as a process and censorship. If that makes sense. lol. Again just my opinion.. If I directed a film and the studio uses its editors and butchers my vision via a re-edit..i'd be pissed for sure....but I wouldn't cry censorship. Bet your ass I would re-examine my contract and sue the shit out of them if warranted.
