All you're doing is making it easier for us higher skilled players to kill the underskilled players, and making equal skill gameplay much more boring due to the 2 second twitch shooting combat.

What polls, where? We do know the new Time To Kill (TTK) has been controversial and we're looking at that. Other than that the weapon balance is in a better place in the 1.5 build.

Way too many to list. Suffice it to say, this isn't like adding a new vehicle. It is something we'd like to do, however the amount of effort it would take to make it work doesn't seem to be worthwhile. For instance, at the moment it would take as long or longer to add motorcycles than it would to add a new district (level of difficulty wise).

The 1.5 build has a pass at pricing as well.

Pioneer and the vans+trucks should have the reduced weapon damage upgrade, reduced collision damage upgrade, mobile resupply, and extra cargo upgrade, since they are the bigger vehicles, players want them to be more destructive and shield good.

I really don't feel I can answer this right now. But I hear your concern.

I've yet to receive the final patch notes as our Dev Producer Scott0mon has been very busy with the build, however I am aware that a few of those things you listed have been corrected in 1.5. You list "glich spots" which is difficutlt to identify what you mean by that to say the least. But there are many other fixes in this build.

Look up 'TTK' and you will find I believe 2-3 polls in the regular forum, and 1 in the CBT forum. I'll send some links if you'd like. By glitch spots I mean place where you do certain things to get into an area that isn't meant to be entered. I don't want to go too in depth since that might lead to people venturing out and trying to exploit them. But something such as going outside the map or glitching inside of an object so that you aren't able to be seen/attacked, but you can see others and kill them.

I just want to say, thanks G1 for bringing this game back online, really appreciate it. And thank you dev team for actually making it a better game. From beta I already can see you're working insanely hard to give us a much better experience than before.

My question: What do you know about the volume options? There is one master slider now, but will there be seperate sliders in future builds?

    Thank you for your time,

    Chazer

I have to agee with this question, seperate sliders will be much better. I'm going to poke around in patch 1.5's files to see if I can change them that way. Annoying not being able to hear ambient noises due to my music being too loud due to engine being too loud. Either

-Can barely hear people's footsteps but can hear music

-Can't hear music and engine being too loud

I have an uber set of headphones with positional audio and ya you cant hear footsteps that well but honestly I am super glad for that I hate having to wear my headset all the time Love to let my ears chill and I dont feel that hindered if I am not using my headset I dont need to hear footsteps in this game you can use the camera to look around corners a lot better than other FPS games with the TPS camera instead of FPS  I prefer to just play with speakers and not care only thing you really need to hear is gun shots that are near you but not hiting you but even then thats better to see visualy to react correctly..

    1) Balance is a major concern for me, and I'd like to ask the developer's opinions on the current status of balance for each gun type, not specific guns. The ones that matter most to me are:

    • SMG's

    • Semi-Automatic Rifles

    • Burst-Fire Rifles

    • Secondaries (Magnum)

    • Secondaries (LTL)

    • Shotguns

    • High-Velocity Rifles

    • Less Than Lethal Weapons

    2) How capable is the development team able to deal with issues on the fly? For example, if a patch is released and it causes major instability, how long would it take for the team to be able to either put out a hotfix or revert back to the previous build?

    3) How lenient is GamersFirst going to be about offensive designs on cars. For example, would someone who had a truck with a massive penis displayed on every side be worthy of moderation, or is GamersFirst not going to bother and instead let the players decide what they want to do?

3.1) In the case of a lenient answer (not much moderation), will the players be given the option to turn off custom textures through the options? How about themes?

    4) Right now there are some crazy physics which occur with cars in specific scenarios. For example, I recall having crashed into another car and instantly becoming an SSX Tricky pro, doing multiple barrel rolls and flips through the air with altitudes reaching over 50 meters. Is GamersFirst going to fix this or leave it be for the laughs?

4.1) On a related note, cars which fall from incredibly high distances take no damage from the ground. If I were to fall off a bridge and land upside down, I'd expect the car to at least take some damage. However, this currently isn't the case. Are there plans to implement more realistic physics for cars?

    Cheers,

    Sin

Honestly it'd be better to keep the car physics of barrel rolling and flying into the air. It kinda balances the low profile cars such as Bishada's inability to ram anything no matter it's speed but ability to flip a car into air if both go full speed and hit head on. Also brings tons of laughs from people who witness it or are part of it.

    1. Waterfront district can be very laggy sometimes with some video cards especially with a high pop. Is there any plans to make waterfront more streamline so its not as graphically intensive? I know in some games if the map was poorly made you could have bad fps in the area of where issues on the map were. I get amazing fps in Financial.

    2. Are there any plans to give enforcers a Hummer type vehicle? Also I was curious if Enforcers were getting a new starting vehicle I know we have a new one now, but the new one doesn't look very "cop"ish. I enjoyed the Morai w/Ammo Supply that you got for pre-ordering the original APB, it was decent speed and looked nice. The one now looks like a geek squad car lol.

    3. Are there plans to fix Pedestrians behavour? Sometimes I will honk my horn and they will sit there and crouch for eternity instead of running away. I know in real life if someone honked the horn infront of me i would A. smash the top of their hood with my hands B. get out of the way.

4.I know you guys say now that there isnt many people "cheating" but when can we see this anti-cheat in full action.

    5. Are you guys going to nerf the grenade launcher as of late it seems that everyone is using it and I find it fairly overpowered especially if everyone in the group is using one. Possibility of increasing the level in which someone can use it?

    6. Some people drive vehicles up on top or block an objective is there any fixes plan for this?

Neume I have been upset with k2 network aka gamersfirst for years. I was upset because of their passiveness in knight online while people are cheating. I watched an amazing game (Knight Online) literally get destroyed by cheaters way worse than first APB. And the corrupted ness oh the corrupted ness.

So here is my question... How can I and millions of other disappointed Knight Online players can trust the fact that APB reloaded will be any better in the means of cheating?

    Thank you

I'm with you on that one. I don't want them to be changed, I'm just asking the developers if they have plans to change them.

Grenade Launcher is one of the top tier contacts I believe. Only reason people have them is because somebody who unlocked it sold a bunch, and they got 100 kills and sold 1 slot ones since they are easy to unlock. They are pretty balanced. If you are out in the open you can dodge them easily, or if it's long range you can too. It's just the narrow places, or when you get close to them, or you are in a spot standing still such as behind cover.

    Sup Neume!

I played RTW APB with a 6800gt on a 32bit system with  duo core. I could run it and it actually looked good too.  It had a defect so I went bought a AMD HD 5770. I would call that an upgrade.  However it seemed to crash apb for some reason which made me stop playing the game.

My question is There going to be more support for AMD/ATI cards?

It always seems like we are second class players in most games.image

I run a HD5770 atm, and I get a steady 62fps, sometimes 50fps when there's a lot happening. Good chance it's your OS, CPU or Ram.

or are you suggesting my cpu is dieing?

Please bump this issue way up your list of priorities. Using in-game VOIP is almost impossible, and certainly annoying, when you can't hear your teammates due to the loudness of your car or weapons firing. That's why in the RTW days our clan had to resort to using 3rd party voice chat options, and I just turned the VOIP off completely. I'd rather not hear anyone talking ingame than be subjected to the auditory mess APB offered.

Sight and sound should be the basic principles of your game and I'm kind of appalled that you'd treat sound as a back burner issue. Just add some sound sliders and the issue is corrected.

We're not seeing a "massive amount of people playing with them" at all. In fact just last night the team proved PB is detecting every publicly available aimbot currently available. We're seeing less than 10 players per day using them and those players are getting banned.

    Obvious you are either

    1. An underskilled player

    2. Haven't played

    3. Person who makes hackusations whenever you die to a good player

In RTW, I can honestly say I've seen at most 7 hackers. In G1 CBT, I've seen at most 4 hackers. I always hear people getting accused of hacking, even myself. Especially since I switched from enforcer to criminal due to always having below average skilled players as teammates and I had active friends playing crim, I go against my old groupmates/clanmates and I'd always see in team chat 'Are they hacking?' since I only group with higher skilled players, and they are no exception.

I've done all of the manipulating ingame and it doesn't make the type of difference that it needs to.

So you're telling me I need to jump through hoops in Windows when the ability to properly manipulate the sound should reside in the game? Only a horrible game developer would tell you to do something like that.

Have sliders for VOIP, weapon sounds, engine sounds, and music so they can be tailored for preference and you have a winner. It's ridiculous that it wasn't coded that way in the first place.

  • dreamssdreamss Member Posts: 18

audio ducking works as long you dont change the ingame global volume settings

also... just got hackusated again 24:4 heh

I know this sucks. We are an Intel funded company and have spent a lot of time optimizing our games for Intel/NVidia cards. We haven't yet done as much optimizing for AMD/ATI. We want to and I hope we'll have time to before launch.

    Obviously you are either

    1. A fanboy

    2. Stupid

Where did you pull those numbers from? You don't know how many hackers you've played against, or with, sure you might know how many blatant cheaters you've seen.

But it's not always that black and white.

And sure, I might be bad, I take no offence in you saying that, since I don't really need other gamers to look up to me to feel good about myself.

I did fairly well for myself, but I ended up bored with APB, wasn't really much to do in the game, so I decided to join the dark side, and I never got banned, I never got suspended, I never recieved a warning of any kind.

There are sites who make money off of hacks, that's all they do, create hacks that goes undetected, and updating the hacks after each game update.

Only thing the hacks don't do is account for other variebles such as player reports and the likes.

Him saying in a post on mmorpg that they proved PunkBuster catching ALL currently available hacks, proves nothing, it's obviously lies, ofcourse he won't go ahead and say "We can't stop them", that would scare most people away before they even set foot in the game, and if you think otherwise you are naive and ignorant.

If PunkBuster was THAT effective, then everyone would be using it, AND there would be no cheaters, and we all know that is not the case, go to google, type in any game name followed by hack, and I'll guarentee that there will be tons and tons of hits, some better than others obviously, but trust me when I say, some of those hacks are undetectable unless used blatantly and / or stupidly.

    That is all.

My post was directed to your sarcasm when he talked about hackers. What he said is true, there are very few hackers left. If you still think are a lot left, you obviously fit into one of those 3 categories. Am I saying hackers are 100% detectable? No. Do I think there are no hackers in the game? No. Am I saying there are a few hackers since most get banned? Yes.

Hey there, can i just first say, APB is pretty much my all time favourite game, I LOVED the way it was just before RTW switched the servers off (after the very last patch), but at the same time, im enjoying watching the game evolve into something new.

I was one of the people rooting for a racing district back in the RTW days, and now theres talk of adding street racing im getting rather excited.

My question is, how will the racing work? will players be able to create their own races? i.e. set down waypoints on the map that all racers must pass through, therefore making it possible for players to create their own racetracks very quickly and easily.

I used to have races with friends around both the financial and waterfront districts and created some great circuits on both, ESPECIALLY Financial though. i would love to be able to use these circuits i came up with in a proper race, not just a "hey guys, follow me.. ill show you the track then we race" sort of thing, that only works with friends who agree to play by the "rules".

ALSO, what are the plans for the vehicles in respect to racing? can all participants "borrow" a car just for the length of the race? It wouldn't seem very fair to have a race with a few people in Jerichos and bishadas and a few in starter cars etc, is it possible for all the people in the race to be temporarily put in the same vehicle? (could be great fun to have 10 player dumptruck races just for the sh**s and giggles =D)

In general though, great work guys, there are deffinately still some issues, but im sure you are aware of them and they will all be sorted eventually :).

    over and out.

P.S. please include the ability to place bets on the racing.

P.S.P.S. TEAM RACES! 1 drives, 1 shoots the other players! if a car is blown up they spawn again in the same vehicle in the spot they were blown up in, but after a 2 second delay maybe. would be VERY interesting although.. no doubt VERY difficult to implement without creating a ton of problems.
