No Guild Banks in next patch but Cosmetic appearance?!
Everyone wanted guild banks. They are useful and help your guild and all the people in it.
Cosmetic appearance tabs isnt even a feature anyone wanted in the first place. Its a pointless feature that even Blizzard never implemented.
Huge huge mistake by Trion. Honestly this may be the nail in the coffin. For me and lots of others. Trion clearly does NOT listen to its community.

I can live without them for now, really what exactly are you trying to store in a GB that you really actually need to store there - imho they are great to dump alt gear in and some crafting stuff but is that critical?
You're a bit off there. I don't even play the game and know several folks who want the appearence tab and are playing so saying 'No one wants them' isn't true. You should say "I don't care about them' because you are not a majority of people nor obviously know what others want. Just like there are folks clamoring for Blizzard to add as such as well.
As for a guild bank it definitely is useful but nothing to go up in arms and rage quit. If that is making you put that nail in the coffin then you weren't going to stay long anyway. It should take more than that as it definitely is not that much of a necessity. Too many guilds I have been in barely utilize the feature as it is. It's good to have but shouldn't make or break the game for a player especially for a game that only just came out and has time to make additions to the game.

FYI, development teams work on more than 1 thing at a time. I'm sure if they are planning on introducing a guild bank, the team working on it will continue to do so until it's ready to be released. Just because a cosmetic item option was a quicker update doesn't have any effect on the guild bank.
Besides, lots of people wanted a cosmetic gear option. Just because you don't doesn't mean no one does.

I don't play WoW because of it's lack of appearance tab and armor dye.
Who want's to play an mmo where everyone looks the same?
WoW = world of clones that either look alike or worse... look like hobo/clowns.
WoW also has one the worst endgames in any mmo out right now imho.

Trion repeated they are working hard on guild banks and will implement them soon so your point of cosmetic OR guild bank is just a lie, we'll have both eventually and having more options is always good so people do care.
Rift is less than two months old and they are developing and fixing constantly things so don't blame them as if they were stuck and stubborn forever on the same issues.
"Not even WoW did this or did that". You should know better, using WoW as a ultimate reference AND on a non-WoW forum is considered in the best case as idiocy or trolling. Are you asking for a "Go back to WoW answer" so you can say fervid Rift "fanbois" hate you?
Trion doesn't listen to its community? I've read tons of posts proving the contrary, especially after each betas. And by the way my opinion is that devs shouldn't listen to their community first but to themselves and then possibly adapt their decisions according to their community reactions, if something went wrong.

It may be sad, but "czechguy" has no idea what he's talking about, i mean, i'm not really one to criticise peoples opinions. However when people are wrong entirely or have a bad opinion, that is blatantly incorrect, then that annoys me. The guild bank is something he and maybe 2 others WANT, the cosmetics affect the game as a whole, not 3-4 members that think a guild bank is necessary for some extra "space" if anything, the guild bank ruins tome of the social activites within a guild, like speaking to the guild weapon/armor smith etc... and knowing what different people are capable of, there will also be far less theft of items etc... therefore people like "czechguy" are nothing more then what we as MMORPG players call "game hoppers" and have absolutely no right to speak of something they know little about, because they know little about everything in the world, i suggest they don't speak at all.
Hmm... what's that OP, another post were someone assumes we all want what they do. I am quite capable of deciding what I want without another deciding "nobody wants it". Not only is it childish to stamp your foot and demand something, but more childish to state that everybody else wants it. Appearance slots are another choice implemented in game. Choice = good.

Well I am sure they are working on guild banks as a system although Guild Banks are not needed anyways like really but I am sure they will add it down the line if people keep complaining about it.
The cosmetic appearance I am glad that they added this because I hate a lot of their armors and looks of their armor and such, now I know that if I do purchase the collectors edition a bit down the line I will be able to change my appearance how I please, and that makes me even more want to buy rift although I am a bit tight at the moment with things.
I don't like Rift, but even I cringed at the OP tbh.
I remember plenty of folks wanting appearence tabs on the forums up until the last beta (when I stopped following the game), and even I would admit that Trion listen to their players (to a fault even imo... auto joining people for rifting was a stupid cave in on their part).
If appearence tabs are your personal nail in the coffin then i don't think you probably were enjoying it very much anyhow.
Personally I think appearance slots are nice addition, I mean some of the amor is just fugly, but a guild bank would have been more appreciated. My personal nail in the coffin is the dungeon queue, I actually was enjoying it quite a bit but it's going to be an empty game now....
GB's are useless if you ask me.. Thats just me though lol.

a cosmetic or appearance tab allow to wear gear to look how you want while getting stats from gear you might need to wear. so say you found a set of gear you really like the look of at an earlier lvl but cant where due to stats. this lets you appear to be wearing that set but get stats from other gear
I have zero use for a guild bank, I barely use my personal bank. The only thing I am using my personal bank for is to store the set of armor I plan on placing in my appearance slots.

Wow.. Thats actually a very cool feature.. Ive never seen this in a MMO lol.. Can't wait..
Still, guild bank meh.. I could care less if they put that in.. An new and fresh feature like a cosmetic tab is awsome though, also the LFG tool will be nice for me too.. I'am lovin this game so much.. Still only lv 38 but the games kept me entertained for the past 2months.

I about fell out of my chair after reading to OP but thankfully other posters got to it before I did in regards to how completely incorrect it is. Trion is the best development team I have ever seen as far as it comes to listening to its players. Also everyone has been completely dogging Rift for being just like WoW but suddenly "Wow didn't even add this feature!" OK isn't that the point? They actually did something new and different. I personally have always wanted something like this in a game and am looking forward to it.
PS: I've never even looked at my own personal bank, what's the point?

Sounds to me like taking many different proven and popular features from other mainstream games and putting them together with their own story and adding in some of their own unique flavor and features is actually really smart... I would like to play that game, oh wait I do.

Hmmm, never played LotRO for more than a day. Bored me to tears. Well it's new to their game and I commend them either way for adding new features continuously and listening to their players.

Guild banks seem to be on the to do list. If it doesn't make it in this patch, it will most probably be in the next one. I wouldn't be overly worried.
(Latest hotpatch updated the coinlock to include guild privilege altering features. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a move to cover also the necessity to safeguard the guild bank privileges as well.)
All I can really say to OP is... Patience young grasshopper. Patience...
Apparently they don't have 5 million people working on the 5 million things they want to add to the game and apparently some of those things take thousands of man hours to program. To think that because it was not added THIS PATCH it will never be added, is ignorant.
On to the positive side, I am actually impressed at the speed of which they fix issues and have produced content, by comparison to other MMO's I have played, they are extremely fast to respond and produce. So much so that your post looks foolish to so many people, as the responses show...
There is so much in this patch that I would have estimated it would take at least 4-5 months before they even thought about it, but now here it comes already within 2 months of release.... I am excited to see what they keep bringing in the future.
Trion reminds me of the old Blizzard that listened to customers, before they sold their soul to the devil, I mean activision...

Scott: I was actually just talking to the programmer on that right now. True to our promise, we always said that was going to be one of the most important features to get done right after we launch, on the assumption that players would be ok with it not being there right now. Progress is being made, I can tell you that right now. So yes, it is being actively developed right now.

Hmmm..everyone is not me, I don't care a bit for guild banks, but I love the idea of appearances slot. So they did it in the right order for me at least.
tabs to customize looks, huh? sounds like an easy way to bring in a cash shop in the future to me.
Seriously couldnt care less about guild banks . And why u complain about this here ? Noone here who could actualy help you to convice Trion to implement them faster..
