DFO's graphics are pretty good, the 3d engine isn't as powerful as MO's UE3 but the artistic work by Aventurine makes it better looking...much much more detail to every part of the world, so many more textures, cities, mob types, effects, ambiances, vegetation, dungeons ect...Graphics isn't just about resolution depth and 3D Engine...artistic work >>>> 3D engine and hardware.
Oh, and I guess you haven't played DFO, and obviously you haven't played oblivion.
that is not oblivion that is oblivion running plenty of visual mods it even says so in the description, most of hwich were up to 3 years after oblivions launch. Yes i have played oblivion. Its nice looking even still but without the mods it really shows its age. Also darkfalls graphics are more like morrowinds than oblivions just like i said. Not a bad thing since morrowind imo was better than oblivion but darkfalls graphics arent as good as MOs and that is a fact.
that is a fact? what kind of crap is that? I'm not gonna rewrite the same posts on and on, but no its not a fact, MO's 3D engine is superior to DFO's that is a fact, its more technologically advanced, has higher resolution texture etc...
However as I said before, artistic work >>>>> technology. MO might benefit from the technology but DFO's artistic design compensates and give it better all around graphics.
You shouldn't use the word "fact" when not even knowing how to use it. MO's graphics being "better" than DFO is an opinion, its your apreciation its not a fact.
True to an extent: art design is a big factor in how I ascribe one game's graphics as better than the other. For my money, I'm sick of MMO's that look and play like cartoons. I mean it's fun in TF2, but when every MMO has cartoony graphics (an easy way to hide the low poly counts, etc) it's kinda ridiculous...
DFO's graphics are way too cartoony for my taste: MO's graphics are much grittier, I'd say more 'realistic' if I didn't think that word was way overused in this context.
As for graphics, both MO and Oblivion (with a helluva lot of mods, meaning a professional dev team AND an army of dedicated volunteers, AND years of work AFTER oblivion's release) are pretty similiar. I'd be hard-pressed to pick out which one looks 'better', it'd honestly probably go back on forth depending on what frame I'm looking at. But, shouldn't we be fair and look at 'vanilla' oblivion side-by-side with MO? I mean, I can't rightly say MO's graphics are just as good as Oblivions, because if I remember right Oblivion's aren't as stunning as we see in that modded video.
Sidethought (though actually more on-topic: ) I'm not sure this was mentioned, and I'm not saying MO is "oblivion online" by any stretch of the imagination, but both games also have a 'raise skill levels by using said skill' mechanic... if anyone's maintaining a mental "compare/contrast' list still

k i have a screenshot from MO, im willing just for fun to pit this screenshot agaisnt any screenshot from darkfall online you care to take. Lets see if darkfall has better visuals over MO sicne i havent played darkfall and am willing to acept a fair challenge.
Also though i would say this screenshot looks quite abit like oblivion at least from what i remember

Apparently you still don't get it...You still don't understand. You still throw individual screenshots to prove your point. I mentioned in other posts that some particular parts of MO are gorgeous and filled with detail. and its precisely the art work on every small detail that gives good render.
Thing is, MO has too little of those places, and a huge lot of space where no detail is brought. You may throw as many screenshots as you want, they'll mostly all look the same, cause the number of spots that actually have been worked with details by SV are few.
Also there is little variety in MO. Jungle, steppe, forrest and desert. I think there is like 1 only real dungeons and a few caves that all look identical.
I could throw you 1000 screenshots of DFO and all would look very different and really good, regardless of the place its been taken, because what makes DFO beautiful is that they have manually crafted every single part of the world and filled it with detail all along....And DFO's world is like 5 times bigger than Nave.
Dawn, as I have said before, is a big step in what I believe is the right direction. SV should stop working on stupid horse breeding or making horses pee from their penis, and work Nave to add as much detail to it as possible, add new places, new dungeons, new environements etc.
A fine example of that : Where is Tindrem? The capital city where most alpha screenies came from...1 year after release, there still isn't Tindrem...yet Tindrem should be a huge asset to the world of Nave.
That's just further proof that you"re still paying for a beta. World is still less than half finished and that's why even DFO's graphics will overall be better, because its a finished piece of artwork, while MO, despite being a potential masterpiece, has only a few corners that's been painted.

there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.

Are you finally getting the analogy?
