Poll : MMO hype (TSW vs. ArcheAge vs.TERA vs. Blade & Soul)

SWtOR and GW2 are generating lots of hype and it's understandable because SWtOR is Star Wars and is being developed by Bioware and because GW2 is being developed by ArenaNet, the developers of the orginal GW and is B2P.

However there are some other good MMOs besides those two that are coming out and this poll is about those MMOs.

Which of the following games are you more hyped about and why?

Okay, I'm really curious about TSW... and Archeage is looking really fascinating to me...

... but I picked Blade & Soul anyway.  Why?

Well, GW2 is my main game, for gameplay...

... so Blade & Soul allows me to indulge the part of me that likes art.  Even though I love GW2 art (And have the art books), I have a soft spot in my heart for Hyung-Tae Kim.  I also have his art books, and I have two of the games he did art for (Even though those games are bad)

I'm looking forward to a game that so closely replicates his art style.

... plus, some of the mechanics seem neat, and I really like the travelling.

... but yeah, mostly shallow reasons for B&S.  Haha.  I'll admit it!

Went with Secret world, mainly because of Ragnar, but also because it appears to be using something i haven't seen before like investigations, and it's also based in the "real world"

Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.

Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.

Honestly the game i am most interested in right now, including SWTOR and GW2, is The Secret World. It is a game that sounds like my cup of tea. However knowing the dangers of getting infatuated with a game before you get to really see the nuts and bolts of it, this will be the last time I mention the game for quite some time.

Archage really seems like the kind of game that would be perfect for me, but for some reason everything I've read and watched on it leaves me cold. I cannot for the life of me figure out why this is.

Tought call between TSW and ArchAge, but TSW definitely wins out for being unique:  Real world setting, no classes, etc.

ArcheAge... it's got possibilities, and I'm excited at they seem to be building a great themebox/sandpark hyrbrid, something that will hopefully work and other devs will do as well.

TWS because of the modern world setting and classless system.

The Secret World due to the setting and the hope that Funcom use similar mechanics to AoC and can get it right the second time round from the beginning. We'll see though.

    TSW.

As far as I'm concerned, FC has made the best MMO ever in AO and the best-looking MMO ever in AoC.  Can't wait to see what they do next.   Flawed launches don't bother me nearly as much as dull unimaginative games that most companies with "flawless execution" seem to be making.

I've heard a lot of good things about AoC from those who stuck it out, and those who have returned.  That has helped to soothe some of my concerns about this game...  We know Funcom is capably of making an incredible game, and this certainly could be one.  I have my eye on a handful of games right now.  If at least one of them turns out to be worth playing, i'll be happy.

Archage and TSW seem interesting to me.  I'm still not sold on TSW, but they have some good ideas.

TSW due its skill system and it's love afair with Lovecraft (as well as others).

Tough choice for me tbh. I went with AA though and I don't know why, I intend my games for next few years to be a mix of AA, TSW and TOR in no particular orde until I get to try them.

I will say that it's what AA could be that draws me to it, a seriously decent sandboxy game would be nice.

I feel so lonely being the sole person who is looking forward to B&S that much!

Then again, I'm probably the only person with multiple Hyung-Tae Kim artbooks and posters. :<

I guess liking this guy's art makes me an outcast from truly tasteful MMO lovers who enjoy things like TSW and Archeage more. :(

TSW - I expect the most, setting, skill system etc.

ArcheAge - i feel will possibily from the mix of elements cast out many players who do not revolve around pvp and its questionable how much world shaping is really into it.

TERA - i like female chars wearing sexy armor but from the vids i have seen its an action mmo with absurd sized weapons worn by cutesy girl with pink bunny ears...well...a matter of personal taste.

B&S - a console game to me, the pic is nice (still the ears be huuuuuuge) but at all i wont play a mmo bcs of that.

I will try them all (except B&S cus i hate NC) and play the one that will give me the best entertainment,  screw the hype or lack of hype.

I say Archeage but struggle between that and Tera. I think I will like the entirely free roam of Archeage and the ship building and PvE aspects of it but will enjoy Tera's battle and PvP more. All of these games look great though so I like the list. TSW is really unique apart from every other MMO and B&S has a really nice look to it and combat system.

The amount of GW2 vs. SWtOR threads where excactly the reason I made this poll.

    Archeage

I simply do not trust Funcom to deliver and so can't get excited until I see it.

6/10 for being the first one to actually post it, but getting GW/SWTOR fans angry at other MMO gamers is like shooting fish in a barrel.

Currently Watching: TSW. << Very Eager for a Beta invite. Have experience with Beta Testing.
Not personally a big fan of raiding or current pve endgame mmo philosophy. Nothing wrong with it, I just sort of burnt out on it.

Oh, sure, those SW:ToR fans are CRAZY.  They will rip into any other gamers without a second thought.

... but I am SEVERELY insulted that you would dare to even suggest that GW2 fans are ANYTHING but reasonable.  Why, every day when I log onto MMORPG.com, I look around, nod sagely, and realize that GW2 fans are still the only mmorpg fans who have even the faintest shred of sanity.  I don't hate people who enjoy other games, I just feel a deep-seated pity for them, and hope that some day they can be as enlightened as I am. :(

If you're not interested in any of those games, why would you need to state an opinion on which one you're more interested (hyped) in? Isn't it a better message to send to not offer an opinion on a subject you have no interest in?

Opining or voting on something you have no interest in while saying you have no interest in it, seems slightly counter productive to the message being sent.
