WAR swordmaster gusting wind. Throwing tanks into my melee DPS line and their healers out of range plus tossing one or two careless cowards backwards into lava... priceless...
WAR had the most fun abilities overall imo. That is if you rolled a tank or a healer. I loved the balance in 2009. Tanks and healers dominating minute-long battles. Really set the game apart from the damage-fest about any other PvP-centered game is now. You really got the feeling of being in a epic battle back then. At least as a tank.
Out of many great abilities from a lot of different games, the Guard ability from WAR always sticks out in my mind. Tanking abilities that are useful in both PvE and PvP always seem so rare, and this one was definitely useful.
My favourite skill from any MMO has certainly been in DDO... It was a skill what everyone had: Block/Parry.
All you had to do was to hold down left Shift (as default) and your character either raised his shield to defend himself, or tried to parry with a weapon. Combine that with the new intimidate what you have in the game and you're set to go. I mean... no other MMO has had an similar system for melee classes (attacking + defend/tumble action), no AoC dosn't come even close, with the useless blocking and barely useful sideways dodge etc. in it. In DDO heavy shields and tower shields had great uses, and they saved my old paladin countless times, until I changed to dual wielding before finally ending up with a great sword. Yeah, Paladin and Dual-wield, unbelievable!

"Contagious Living Bomb" (name says it all) from Dragon Age is pretty awesome too... Especially on rows of Dark Spawn archers with low health. I'd rename the skill to "backstage meatstorm" though =>

Wow Priest's Mind Control. Once I cast it on a hunter and got him to attack his own pet, when the Mind control broke he ran away, he was having none of that lol.
The Hox's Hell fire Breath from AoC is pretty cool, it is an Aoe Fire spell, its the animation that makes it cool, most of their attacks are sword based, so they melee away, on casting Hell fire they stop melee and just open their hands and look to the sky, more than not resulting in the death of the enemy.
The Bright Wizards fire ball from WAR has a pretty good animation as well, they reach out infront of them and grasp at air, they slowly start to pull thier hand back and start to gather fire, once they hands is all the way back they have gathered a ball of fire which they then unleash.
Stealthing rogue in Vanguard, the Rogue disolves into little particles, very well done.
Aocs Barb Whirlwind combo is nice to watch, it goes on for about 5 secs in which time he hits his enemy about ten times, seems they took inspiration from Jet Lee, as it is so quick.
Well the skill that made me laugh the most was from Warhammer Online closed beta.
Yes it was extremely bugged but it was hilarious. The combo of marauders wrecking ball and broad swing. The more players it hit the more the damage mulitplied so you could stand in the middle of a zerg with 50+ enemies and pop that and the whole game would freeze for 5-6 seconds because of all the damage and afterwards everyone was lying on the ground ^^.
Other than that I've always been a sucker for Ents go to war from LOTRO.
...aaaaand Shilien Knight's cubes from Lineage 2 .

Istaria/Horizons has one of the best ranger skill/set i've seen the way you could train up longshot and then watch as your arrow trail arced for miles, as you sat on a hill or vantage point and picked off mobs was still is pretty awesome.

In WoW I liked mind control. It was just fun to mind control all types of targets to see their abilities and try them on each other.
