The thing is they were not talking about people playing WoW or even MMORPG's they were talking about video game playing. I hold cocktail parties for my colleges all the time (I teach at a university) and what is the one thing that they loved to do after a couple of drink? Play on the Wii. This is a group of people in their late 20's to early 40's (the older faculty simply don't come out to events).
What the Today show doesn't take into account is that most people in their 30's grew up with at least arcade games if not Atari, Nintendo and the rest of the gaming linegage. The fact is that the "cast members" (and I call them that because they are no longer journalists, but "celebrities") the today show are 50+ they might still be in tune with Baby boomers (though I doubt it), but have no clue what 30's are doing because they are still convienced in the vitality and supremecy of their generation, as it continues to bankrupt the U.S. both financially and morally.

So the today show is stuck in a cultural perception of an older generation. Sounds similar to how the current ruling political ideologies in are still stuck in the 20th century.

The two are related, the vast majority of politicians are baby boomers.
How can they bash magic and friendship, and caring! Speaking to a [1/2]rony is most likely better than going to a therapist where they always direct blame inwards for your problems.
I'll wait till somone who is relevant to give their opinon of what is weird or not. Not two women who are grabbing at anything to keep their wierd looking asses on T.V.
Chances are neither one of them even know how to turn a computer on.
