"Swifty’s a devoted game tester, testing games that are on closed betas and usually always testing and experimenting to find ways to excel in any game. Today, he makes tutorial videos with the strategies and secrets he finds in the games, releases them in videos that he posts on YouTube (www.youtube.com/johnsju).
His goal? To help others become better at games through his tutorial videos. He gets great satisfaction when he gets feedback from players who have had great success in games as a result."

HILARIOUS
Charr: Outta my way.
Human: What's your problem?
Charr: Your thin skin.
I like how it said "thorough investigation". 30 seconds is thorough?
i mean perma ban is abit over the top for one server crash.if he had done it few minutes after the crash again i would say ok.
but no warning or anything is hard too hard i think.even when i dont like wow at all but i can feel the situation if someone had taken mine acc frome my beloved game .
Uhhhhh...who is he?
Yeah... uh... What's a swifty?
Someone able to create 3,000 likes and 1,000 dislikes for a video that only 300 people have looked at.
Someone I've never heard of got banned from Warcraft? I'm filled with rage.
Thanks, OP, this just made my day. Swifty is such an arrogant attention w***e.

That sucks to play a character that long and then lose it. Moral of the story, don't crash the servers.
If you guys plays wow and never heard of swifty its a shame really...
one of the best gamers now days he is always making giveaway each week.
Wow he's got quite a gaming setup there. And he's not fat and ugly like most of your WoW geeks. Looks like he actually gets out of the house every now and then. A bit full of himself with his own Youtube channel and all but that's where all the narcissistic people hang out at now ! Impressive.
I didn't understand what was going on in that video or what he was doing wrong but I have never been past Lvl36 in WoW so I have never raided. But a permaban seems harsh under ANY circumstances (other than Goldselling/farming).

I'm fairly certain that Swifty is the person that Razer has show off their products when they are first released, but dont quote me.
But he is an amazing PvPr but there is no reason he shouldnt have his own youtube channel. What do you think youtube is for? I know of a lot of other people who shouldnt have their own youtube channel.
As sad as it is, I feel Blizzard made the right call. Even just to prevent others from doing the same (Even though he did it unintentionally).
I don't think Youtube is for anything. That's why I don't use it. That link I clicked on is prolly the fourth or fifth time I have ever been on Youtube. And it was the third or fourth time I have wished I had that wasted time back. I guess I'm just a crusty 'ol curmudgeon. But that's OK with me!

You either really love swifty or hate him!

Noooooooo!!!
I still can't figure out what is being liked/disliked. The person? The video? The lack of content in the video? The video content consists of some fuzzy pictures of people flying around in-game, a guy sitting there saying he's been banned, a fuzzy picture of the in-game GM chat message and a side to side scolling image of an email that says ( I think) he's banned.
I didn't know who he was before today. But Blizzard's decision was wrong, he didn't do it on purpose and the fact it even crashed isn't his fault, blizzard should have had systems in place to prevent this kind of situation.
To be honest blizzards behaviour lately has just been all round poor and the way they acted towards this player can only be discribed as nazi-ish.
Yeah that's what I got from this thread too. It looked like he didn't do anything bad on purpose. Looks like poor game mechanics or whatever.
If this player is as good to the community as has been suggested then Blizzard made a bad PR move.

Swifty supporters just logged in enough to crash Darkspear server as of 12:41 P.M. PST
I have no sound from work, but how did he force the server to crash? It looked like in the email that there was a mass group of people or something so why did just he get banned?
I'll re-watch when I get home but if anyone can clear that up it would be awesome
Well, that's certain to make Blizzard more sympathetic to The Cause.

This.
blizzard bans someone who has been paying for 6 years because thousands of people were actually doing a COMMUNITY event. Simple warning would have sufficed. Classic out of touch corporate response.
rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar
Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D
IMO Blizzard made a terrible move. I honestly don't know the guy and never heard of him. But, I stand behind the customer. He is playing a game and, last I checked, there was not a counter showing "Hey this many people are in the area." In his defense, this is not his issue, no, this is the fault of Blizzard and their servers. If they will allow "X" amount of people in the server at "Y" time, then they had better damn well make sure that their servers can handle it. If not, limit the number of people on the server and open new ones if warrented. This simply appears to be Blizzard and friend not being able to manage their own equipment and software.
