En Masse Entertainment has announced that they have penciled in Spring 2012 as a launch window for their upcoming action-MMO, TERA.

The additional time is said to allow the developers to continue to add features to the game and ensure the game lives up to the company's 'standard of quality.'

In terms of adding more quality to the game and more content im slightly pleased but good luck Tera its going to be facing some tough competition now for sure.

    Finally ...

    RIP Orc Choppa

  • Very risky decision but i guess they know what to do with this extra 5 months delay. Eme will do the same for us release?

  • Oh, np, they do the same too. :)

I dropped the f-bomb upon reading the news but after calming down I'd rather they do launch properly. It's a Korean made game so it'll be more scrutinized and shred to pieces given the opportunity. They have one shot at making a good impression so it better be a great launch.

Better they try to get the 'Western' launch right, and avoid the problems besetting them after their initial launch (That, and who really would want to go up against ToR this fall, and GW2 later next year ;P)

It's probbly a good idea that they delay it until the game really is more than ready.

The game got uninteresting for me when they started to westernize it that heavily.

So wait.....'Eastern' type games already do poorly in the 'West', Tera is already having a bad go of it in their home market.  You'd want them to release something that's doing poorly at home, over here (a market which is incredibly tough on MMOs)

      Interesting.

I don't know, less loli = less chance of playing...

      Interesting.

It does poorly in Korea bacause it lacks content. This has nothing to do with the game itself tho. The content is added slowly and the western version will start with all the added content. Actually the western version lacks content then, as Elin and other stuff tagged "offensive" or "too sexist" etc is being cut away.

And if you would'Ve followed the game and read the kTERA tests then it isn't even a typical grind-fest like alot of korean games and allready in line with western standards in most aspects.

Well breast sizes sure have gone down from what they used to be about a year back in videos. Not to mention the animations.

    SKIP

i hope that they going to release it at the same timeframe in Europe too..and no more delays... anyway now i really dont know what to play till GW2 :((

Good, let SWTOR crash & burn before releasing the game.

I still think that GW2 will absolutely destroy this game in box sales, but im happy with 300-500k subs after a couple of months.

I think that the sandbox elements at endgame will provide this game with a steady increase of subs instead of the typical drop in subs when people realise that the themepark is an empty wow clone with nothing more that instanced raids.

are you seriously saying whether you play an mmo has to do with tit size?  hope you are joking (and if you are it was still a sad joke).

While the delay is mildly disappointing, the game appears to need that extra time to have some improvements made to it.

Not a huge issue.  Still looking forward to giving it a try when it does come out.

Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.

So is there a time a Eastern game is EVER released before a year has passed since it's initial release?

The Elin aren't being 'cut away' as much as they are just being censored to not show their panties in every animation.

LoL well I was lOOking foward to this game but I guess it's gonna take that long to..ahh shrink certain things and to design more armour "options" for certain races.

Wonderful to live here in the west. Example: I've always wondered why a woman can go pool side with not much more than a string to cover up with but let the same woman go out in a bra and panties and she would be locked up. ODD

    Jymm Byuu
Playing : Blood Bowl. Waiting for 2. Holding breath for Archeage and EQN.

Yeah to be honest if it was released as is...it would have decent box sales then just bomb like the past MMOs we've had in the west.

They need to launch this game with the Sieges patch. Once they get that in Korea, then I think this game will be release worthy. Until then, its destined to fail.

Besides, the company is in a shit state already. Executive Producer recently left, employees are probably still trying to figure out how to continue, game is steadily declining in Korea and they have to find a release window where there arent a huge amount of AAA games coming out lol!

I remember reading something that this winter is gonna be crazy since so many AAA games are coming out. It was inevitable that some companies just exclude themselves from the bloodbath that is about to follow.

Any indie game coming out this Winter will be destroyed.

Currently waiting for the MMO industry to put out something good.

All the media is full of nudity and sex and every little child gets to see it while walking downtown. Why there's no PEGI for advertisement?

Additionally, we want little five year old girls to look cute and take part in miss-contests but on the other hand we've got a problem with asian art and style.

On another note, if we look at the scandinavian countries or russia, where there's a tradition of going into the sauna in mixed groups, all this is aswell laughed at, as people are running around naked in every age to begin with showing everything they got.

You see, the western religious countries, and especially the US is very hypocritical, and that's why we cannot have TERA over here like it was initially developed.

Best thing to do in this industry is wait until your game is finished.. you know how long they last when they aren't.

  • f1sebf1seb Member UncommonPosts: 194

Will most likely be playing Star Wars by then, no need for this game at all.
