For a while there I forgot this game even existed..
If SWTOR and GW2 are reasonable successes this title will never make any headway here in the west, especially if they are struggling with lack of content issues.

After seeing all those Screenshots from the Korean client, i'm thinking, who the hell on earth would play such a game. I mean there are avatars of little girls in game running around naked, wtf ???
The game needs to have more open world conflict in it, this aspect alone is what has put me off TERA. It feels like the "meaningful" PvP in this game is mainly focused on little "BattleGround" mini-games, and the endgame PvE instanced raid focused.
Many of the NA / EU followers of this game are old LINEAGE 2 players, and they aren't happy with that kind of rubbish.
If they make a nice portion (1/3 or more atleast) of the EndGame boss mobs / raid content in the world rather than in an instance, and give something for the guilds to fight over in large-scale, I will consider purchasing again.
I've been put off by the un-inspirational WoW style mini-game PvP junk.
I want an MMO! And so do many others.

Always hating on instances in MMOs! Open worlds, open PvP, territory control and housing please. More persistence, more fun.
Another massive delay in another MMO that'll miss it's window... When I have SW:Tor, TSW, GW2, Diablo III, DOTA 2, this will have no time in my world without earning it's place prior.

Exactly. Too little too late. They missed their golden oppertunity.
So is there a time a Eastern game is EVER released before a year has passed since it's initial release?

So wait.....'Eastern' type games already do poorly in the 'West', Tera is already having a bad go of it in their home market. You'd want them to release something that's doing poorly at home, over here (a market which is incredibly tough on MMOs)
Interesting.
It does poorly in Korea bacause it lacks content. This has nothing to do with the game itself tho. The content is added slowly and the western version will start with all the added content. Actually the western version lacks content then, as Elin and other stuff tagged "offensive" or "too sexist" etc is being cut away.
And if you would'Ve followed the game and read the kTERA tests then it isn't even a typical grind-fest like alot of korean games and allready in line with western standards in most aspects.
The Elin aren't being 'cut away' as much as they are just being censored to not show their panties in every animation.
unless the mods are lying on the official site they are gonna throw some tights on them thats it, sorry in NA jailbait booty gets censored. Dunno where people get this its never coming out stuff from , the only concern i have ever had is ohh boy another asian grind fest that will flop over here like Aion. So take your time and make a game that western audiences won't hate
So they westernise the game because western players cant look at the clothed (even if its not much clothed, it still covers the important bits ) toons without thinking of naked toons all the time. Funny how that game company tries to cure the 'filthy' thoughts of the western mind
For me the biggest draw is the combat. Having the most attractive female characters (all races) in any mmo balanced out (for me) the ugly art style of the creatures, and bosses we will fight. After reading about the game, it was my understanding that the Elin were a seperate race, and they look it to me. Those that see under dressed human children are seeing what they want to see, and need counseling. If they westernise the combat I'll pass on this game.
Good, let SWTOR crash & burn before releasing the game.
I still think that GW2 will absolutely destroy this game in box sales, but im happy with 300-500k subs after a couple of months.
I think that the sandbox elements at endgame will provide this game with a steady increase of subs instead of the typical drop in subs when people realise that the themepark is an empty wow clone with nothing more that instanced raids.
There are several threads for sandbox vs thempark discussions. This isn't one of them.
SWTOR is not a WoW clone. It's KOTOR as an MMO. This thread isn't about KOTOR or GW2, btw.

I'd like to see the game make a run over here, "westernized" or not. I'm not so closed minded that I write off a game without playing, like so many posters here. I enjoy all kinds of games, and don't become so "forumized" that I overthink them and allow all of the constant hate of the uninformed ruin my experience. And seriously, people complaining about the lack of cartoon boobs should understand that we're on the internet - there are plenty of REAL boobs you can look at, or perhaps actually talk to a girl. I don't need video games for them - they are frickin' cartoons, guys. It's like when people say "Oh I play chick toons cause I like looking at chicks..." such a weak arguement, and almost creepy, especially since they aren't even real chicks. It reminds me of the guy from "The Guild" who sold fabric samples.
This doesn't surprise me, there has been a ton of change going on at BHS lately, and last Saturday the CEO of Bluehose pretty much appoligized to it's shareholders and vowed the NA/EU release will only be released when it's 100% ready with the lvl 60 RVR patch.
"The additional time is said to allow the developers to continue to add features to the game and ensure the game lives up to the company's 'standard of quality." Bah, same thing was said about Aion and that was a failure, unless you like asian grind games. I'll pass.
stop failing ist not an asian grinder <.< play it in korea til lvl 58 and it feels like every normal western mmo , thats why more people play for example aion then tera-

Well breast sizes sure have gone down from what they used to be about a year back in videos. Not to mention the animations.
SKIP
are you seriously saying whether you play an mmo has to do with tit size? hope you are joking (and if you are it was still a sad joke).
Nope, I'm not joking. That was one of the charms I saw in this game. Then the westernized censure strikes in and locks my choise of not getting the game in.
Here are the real Questions I find about Tera, which the Developers have not answer even on their own site when I have asked.
1. Will Tera Online be purely Pay 2 Play MMO, or will it in the future start charging people like Aion/NC Soft did for Pets, and Cosmetic Items, If so tell me now because i don't want to buy, or play a game like this.
2. Why the long Launch Date, and what are they really doing behind the Scene, are they actually doing stuff to make the game more fun, or are they making plans for the future about how they are going to charge people Real Money beyond their monthly fee for Recustomization of their character, or are they maybe designing new content that is not going to be released into the game, and then going to release it down the line which will break the game after it is released?
3. By the time of Launch will the game actually have a better MMO worth playing compared to Tera, and New/Better MMO Doesn't always mean quality, I mean I compare Tera to Aion, and Aion could have been a bigger hit than what it was, but like NC Soft Decided to get really greedy and that is when their game started to go down hill big times.
4. I don't want to play a game that is going to make really big changes like Blizzard did to World OF Warcraft, will this game be one of those with constant nerfs, ruining of classes, and big changes people don't like like they did to wow, Blizzard killed wow for me.
I mean the Graphics of this game look great, so do the movies I have seen for this game, but so did Aion, and a bunch of other different MMO the game looked like one of the best games I was going to purchase until after I bought the game and it was crap, or they end up ruining it down the road.
The Clothing, and Armor Styles in this game look really great, and I like it but the real Question is why they won't answer anything on their forums about this, I mean does this mean that there is a good chance they will add a bunch of extra services like cosmetic changes to a character and make us pay for it like Aion down the road? I mean obviously no game company would release this on launch because they want a lot of Subscribers before they start milking cows.
1. Will Tera Online be purely Pay 2 Play MMO, or will it in the future start charging people like Aion/NC Soft did for Pets, and Cosmetic Items, If so tell me now because i don't want to buy, or play a game like this.
It is very likely. EQ2 started this 2 years ago or so and once Wow had followed a few months after it was more or less accepted as the standard P2P model.
To me at least it seems like all future P2P games will sell pets and fluff, and only the older small games haven't bother to add this yet.
Yeah, it sucks but I don't know how we will avoid it since everyone is doing it. Blaming Aion isn't right, it was far from the first game that added stuff like this.
Sadly do I think that this is what really will kill the P2P games in favor of F2P, before were the main argument of P2P game that we didn't get an itemshop.

Disappointing but such as it is. I would rather it be a complete and functional game when it does launch.
If SWTOR and GW2 are reasonable successes this title will never make any headway here in the west, especially if they are struggling with lack of content issues.

probably for the best
i geus its time to eep playing the korean version.
lol, same here..
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.
