StarVault's stock down to 0.2 SEK

Just looked at their stock and it went down -31% while it was already extremely low.  Stock just keeps getting lower and lower about every 3 months or so.

3/4 months ago, it would never go higher than 0.5 SEK, then it rarely went above 0.3 now it seems its going down more and more towards 0.2...it had already hit 0.18 SEK in June 2011...What consequences are there behind this if it keeps falling at this stage?

That actually isn't a bad idea.  How low will their value have to drop before a real developer will buy them, gut the staff and replace them all with qualified individuals?  Then maybe SV could be prevented from ruining any future attempts at making a true sandbox MMO, as it was originally conceived way back when.

I'd give it another try after a new dev team had their hands on it. Just sayin'.

Same here. I doubt it could get much worse.

I really tried to get into this game. I gave up, went back, gave up, and went back again...but ultimately, MO doesn't do it for me. In a sandbox, I want more simulation and less full loot pvp retardation.

This is just my opinion, but maybe the reason this PvP-centric formula of sandbox isn't successful, is that fans of sandbox games want to create, rather than destroy.

Inb4 fanboys screaming that this graphically and textually displayed proof of SV's failure is in fact part of their leader Henrik's masterplan for the final solution, like in the last topic about this subject. XD

Yes fanboys. At 0,01 SV is doing best.

First, a few things about this 'stock'. You have to be willing to sell your shares; so that means Henrik, and the shares he owns, has to be willing to part with them so that the ownership of the company will transfer to somebody else. I doubt highly he'll sell because let's face it -- his daddy gave him the money, so he has no care to keep it all.

Secondly, even if somebody "bought out" the shares, they get everything -- INCLUDING the debt obligations of StarVault. So that means all the money that SV owes to people now becomes the problem of somebody else.

So in a nutshell, let's just face it... nobody's going to buy this game out, because no sane person would want to take over a game that is poorly coded to try to "fix it". The effort would be *less* if they just re-coded the entire game from scratch, because at least that way it would be supportable and scalable without breaking stuff. That's why with every patch, SV breaks a lot more new things. There's only one place that MO is going, and it starts with the push of a lever, and ends with a "flushing" noise.

Any ETA on that?  People have been saying that since before release.  It's like those "EVE is dying" threads that have been so common as to become a meme over there; everyone is so convinced the game is dying, yet no one ever has the chutzpah to stick to a timetable on it... I guess it makes it easier to repeat the same thing over and over though if you don't give any specifics.

My guess, this forum will be pouring over SV's quarterly financial reports for several, several more quarters to come.

Again with the "rich daddy" theme?   Anyway, it sounds like we're in agreement that MO will probably be around for years, so that's something.

Oh, I think that rich dads have some sense in them, so if you think it will be around years more than now, I would not agree with that statement. I think it's only been there this long because of a rich dad, so while I won't put a date on it, I don't think I'll categorize their longevity in "years".

Eventually Henrik's dad will realize that his son is not the sharpest tool in the shed and cut his losses. Unless of course Henrik's dad got money from his dad, which makes this whole situation a boat load of stupid.

Yeah, it's sad but its kewl in a way. It's nice that he has a dad that cares about his sons hobby enough hes willing to  keep feeding it money even if its a failed business endeavor. Mad respect for his dad.

    Brilliant post !

Someone gets it. Now just need someone who can actually make a modern game to get it.

Have a sense of humor, no need to get ALL MODDY ! :) A Simpson's quote shouldn't be worth a warning. You are lucky anyone is bothering to read this rag.

More like 10 million dollars.  There's roughly 30 million shares according to the report.

CORRECTION: Sorry I misread the numbers.  I thought it was 31 cents a share.  My apology.

There are 29,838,000 shares at .031 soooo:

29,838,000*0.031= $924978 or under a million dollars. Doesn't it cost a million dollars to license the unreal engine? So its worth less than the license the company carries... lol

Also, those shares aren't all on market. The shareholders (Whatever is left of them), hold a minority of the companies total shares. This is to prevent third party hostile takeovers. Also also, who would want to buy this? I can't even imagine paying the sub cost, let alone owning it lol

In a nutshell Henrik Nystrom is trying to sell Starvault thats why so many people were banned over night from the forums awhile back when the new PR manager took over. They need the website to look nice and neat and to inflate some numbers to get someone to buy. His only other option is bankruptcy look at the stock yourself. It doesnt take a stock analyst to figure this one out.

  • HanoverZHanoverZ Member Posts: 1,239

There was always noticable spike prior to other hyped "major" patches, yet the "Dawn" expansion seemingly had zero impact.

The stock seems to be wallowing at its current low, 87% loss in value over one year ago.

    I win!!! LOL@U
