What is that one, annoying, thing that completely turns you away from a game. It would be nice if you give a list of games that you would be playing if not for the "game killer"...

+ no death penalty or consequence system
+ published by EA, Activision, Frogster or SoE
+ pay 2 win and/or vanity items for $$
games i have left cause of that: World of Worstcommunitycraft, Hypehammer, Vanguard, Everquest 2, Rift and my heart is still bleeding Everquest 1.

No friends to play with, as soon as mates stop playing a game, i leave and only return if they want to return.
just no fun playing alone

If you have any questions please ask. I have moved on to WoW from eq and no longer have any desire to play a dead game. Thank you. (posted by another selling his account in EQ1)

Burnout.
When I reach a point in the game where I no longer get something "new" that changes the way I play the game, then I start down the road to burn out.
What do I mean by "new". Generally as you start playing a game, you slowly gain a complement of new abilities. These new abilities change the way you play the game. Maybe your thief now gained "Backstab" or "Hide" and these two abilities when you get them cause a shift in the way you've been playing the game. Eventually though, this stops, and instead you are left with getting new versions of old abilities "Backstab II", "Backstab III", "Backstab IV" these make you better, but they don't change the way you play the game, and thats when burnout starts to set in.
So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Cash Shop
Full Loot PVP
Just about anything that requires purchases from a cash shop that is necessary to play competitively. I could rant about this quite a bit, but I'll save that for the threads directly related to cash shop discussions. I'm also pretty sick of linearity. Please, developers, give me more freedom of choice and larger worlds.

A lack of fun. Boredom.

Easy gameplay.
Having stuff pretty much handed to you with no work.
And almost all so called F2P games.
That is pretty much it.
The thing that kills a game for me: "The hamsterwheel".
Once you enter the wheel you do a few instances/raids and daily quests. Not much of a story, you slowly progress a little with gear but you are done with 98% of the content of the game and are doomed to repeat the few things until the next expansion. *Dooomed*.
+1 but i hate the fps mode and even if you pan the camera out..it still looks stupid..clunky controls...cant wait for archage tho it seems to follow along the lines of a shadowbane type game and better than darkfail...lmao at all the carebears of nowa days that cant handle ffa full loot pvp..these theampark mmo's have turned everyone into big softy's
- Drastically Immature and Rude Community
- Foam Helmet wearing, drool bib ricipient playable gameplay
- 8,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Kill/Collect X amount of Y from creature Z 10 feet from here types of quests. Use some damn imagination/creativity!
Pick a game for said game killer features.
Bad/awkward keyboard and mouse controls- FFXI may have been my dream game aside from that. Because of it I didn't even finish the 30 free days.
I'll also agree with the poster that stated when his friends quit a game, although I can usually squeeze a couple more months of enjoyment out of a game. The thing that bothers me the most about it is as I get older I'm less and less willing to take the time to meet new people in game, so if my friends quit it's inevitable that I will as well.
Sir, I do tons of PVP in games where skill is what matters. Unfortunately, in MMOs, PVP gets reduced, 99% of the times to these 2 principles:
1) The biggest zerg wins
2) The no-lifer who spent ages grinding gear wins.
Wether you like it ot not, fact is that skill hardly ever decides the outcome of PVP matches in MMOs, and full loot PVP usually attracts griefers and gankers that feel so 1337 and pr0 just becouse they went to a low level zone to gank newbyes who were just enjoying the game.
This is why I do not PVP in MMOs. I do that in other games where skill is the main factor.
FFA, full loot PvP.
i will never play a game with that feature.
there's no point in my paying money to be someone else's npc.
turn it into a flagging system, like SWGpreNGE. so that those who want can, and those who dont wont have to.
"There are at least two kinds of games.
One could be called finite, the other infinite.
A finite game is played for the purpose of winning,
an infinite game for the purpose of continuing play."

MAXIMUM LEVEL. once I hit it, after playing alts for awhile, I leave out of boredom. Let me stay in the hamster wheel.
This happened with: Everquest, Ultima Online (hit max skill level on most of my chars including crafting), and city of heroes.
==========================
The game is dead not, this game is good we make it and Romania Tv give it 5 goat heads, this is good rating for game.
I'm also turned off by Max Lvl's. But as I see it, the only way to take away max lvl's is to have no lvl's at all. But that I mean that you dont progress at all, your as good as you were when you started the character. Because with progress, there has to be a limit. Otherwise people would just grind away, and the developers would have to make new content in short periods (thinking of all the speed lvl'ers). And in time it would not hold, or the game would lose its track and turn into a strange mix of everything just to keep it rolling. Or people would get bored by never reaching a Max.
The only game I've seen so far where it takes years to gain max lvl is EVE Online. If I remember correct (I can be wrong), it takes over 20 years to reach Max in all skills. And by that people have to make up a plan on what they want to do so they can do it as soon as possible. Theres no meaning to spend months training for Mining when you really wanna do some Fighting (why alot of EVE players have Alt accounts).
The best thing would be (in the future) when you actually can connect yourself into a virtual gaming world (like the Hack/ series) where its all based on your skills and how hard you work to make progress. If your lazy, you wont be able to run around as much as a guy who works out every day, for an example.
Well, as I said in the beginning, this is how I see things. Nothing I've posted now is written in stone.
EVE Online 21Days Trial
First that struck my mind, amongst many other, is being unable to JUMP. Not being able to jump, completely ruins immersion.
Make us care MORE about our faction & world pvp!
Dependence on the solo quest grind, and dev teams that are not willing to explore new ways or enchance the social mechanics of a game to improve the group aspect of said game. Dev teams that focus on the quest grind from day one of an MMO need to be shot in the head with a double barrelled pistol of creativity.
For clarity, even the best ideas can be dumbed down by a quest grind that deals itself out to the player like free warm, buttered bread on a cold day. I can't touch these games anymore. I'm finding myself more and more abhored by the word quest on a monthly basis. Even games such as Archeage; a game that fills me with awe for it's highlighted features and promised mechanics, has me shuffling into the corner, with dread on my face, at the mere suggestion it might be a quester.
Quests are old, devs, do something new. ArenaNet might not produce the best game ever, but I'll play GW2 because they're removing the quest grind. Okay, so they still have to have NPCs guiding people to events, because the community have been so breast fed with the dire quest grind for so long that they can't play without being led along like a puppy (apparently), but I can avoid that and wander upon events. I can play as I like to play, not as the dev team want me to.
In case you didn't get the point. I hate quests. I like freedom and the ability to go where I please, when I please, and kill what I like.
