If this is your idea of fun, you'll surely have the time of your life in SWTOR.

FYI, you're not supposed to say you're in the beta, that's breaching the NDA.

You'd surely know this if you actually were in it.

A lot of people mention here that they are in BETA but problem is when you offer any info that breaches NDA which he did not. So yeah you are wrong yet again.

You are wrong. All beta NDAs clearly state you're not allowed to say you're in them.

Go inform yourself before spewing out nonsense.

If I were to report his post (which I won't beacause I'm not a rat), it would get mod editted within 30 mins and he would recieve a warning.

Now that's enough kinder garden chit chat for me in one day, adios.

We have seen many questions about the Game Testing Agreement and we want to clarify a few things.

    1. Per the Game Testing Agreement, a user can state there is a Game Testing Program.

    2. Per the Game Testing Agreement, when someone is selected for testing, they can disclose the fact that they are a member of the Game Testing Program.
That is the extent of it and anything else would be a violation of the Game Testing Agreement. Users that are found to post or even repost confidential materials (such as invitations, Game Tester Portal, etc) will be permanently removed from the Game Testing Program and subject to discipline up to and including permanent removal from the service. This is not limited to screenshots of the game but taking "screen grabs" or sharing of confidential documentation and materials.

If you have any questions pertaining to this, ask them here.

Sorry, Big is right. Scam, check this:

    Particularly:

    ADDENDUM A

    PERMITTED DISCLOSURES

    1. The fact that there is a Game Program.

    2. The fact that you are a member of the Game Program.

meh, beaten to it already :)

"EDIT" Was so funny I forgot the reason why I was in this thread. Kill X number of mobs is a staple of gaming, even if you don't get immediately rewarded for said killings. Looks like you wont need to be begging for people to share the quest though, which is a relief because those share scripts are buggy as hell.

    "LOL"

you are dead on dude, even in real life shoot the ball into a hoop or run down the field faster than the other guy. All MMO's are the same game mechanics  They only differ in fluff features, graphics quality and style, customer service, quality of immersion, quality of quest writing and maybe a few otehr mostly subjective features. When it comes down to it all quests are eitehr fed ex or kill ten foozles.

even level vs skill progression abilities are one and the same. In one you ding a level and go back to the trainer to get the next damage level or skill  and in skill based you get a silent ding and the skill automaticaly does more damage

On the way there, you run into resistance you have to kill. When you pick up the saber you activate some droids that attack you. Kill one of those and you get the bonus quest to kill 10 of them.

It's not all that different from the kill 10 rats quest, but instead of talking to an NPC first the rat attacks you and you get the bonus quest automatically. So what? Questing is pretty standard but somewhat automated.

Saves having to talk to an NPC to get the quest. Saves running back to an NPC to turn in the quest.

Yeah, still pretty standard mechanic but somewhat automated.

Waiting for Guild Wars 2, and maybe SWTOR until that time...

You instead are going. "I'm wandering through this area. Oh hey look! I killed one of these mobs and got a bonus objective come up. I can chose to keep walking and probably kill them all any way or I can focus on them as I really want that extra experience."

    Exactly!!!

Don't like em, don't do em.

Choosing not to do them doesn't impact or impede your progress in any way except that I'll be a level higher than you for doing mine...and chances are, you'll be on track with me because, as has been stated, you kill the damn things all the time any way...you'd have to make a conscious effort to avoid finishing most of them.

Nothing different with this system at all..................Now the Rat is the quest giver... my that is impressive scripting.. Suddenly i feel Bio-lated...............

And people will have this on farm in 24 hours and bored with it in 72                             .

    RPG - Grind = ???

Grind is everywhere, its practice for your character. You char won't walk out into the world killing elite sith/jedi and know everyskill.  Yes some of the quest are stupid like killing rats or bunnies in certain games but in a game where i started off killing dragons I better be one bad-world-destroying-mother-lover by the time I hit level 10.

Yep the rat is the quest giver, the quest also auto completes when you kill the last one required, which you were going to do anyway while you were in that area.

Plus the quest is seperate to normal quest lines

In nomral MMOs it's like this

    Kill 5 rats---->get me a gem.------>Kill 3 eyeballs------->go to this guy------->come back to me-------->kill 5 guards

You need to kill the 5 rats, the 3 eyeballs and the 5 guards before you can progress to the next step this is how it looks like in ToR.

Get me a gem---------->go to this guy----------->come back to me

    and while you are out

    You can if you want

Kill 5 rats, the 3 eyeballs and the 5 guards if you want. If you just prefer to avoid it and play out the story you can just say forget the rats eyeballs and guards and you can do your own thing. Thats the point of optional you don't have to do the kil quests, Now you'll probably end up killing that many while your donig the original quest as they auto start and auto complete as you get and fullfill the requirements. But if you somehow only end up with 4 out of 5 rats you aren't forced to find and kill that last rat.

In short the bonus quests are quests that are not linked to the normal quests you get from NPCs thus they aren't required to even be done, but they stay in your log so eventually as your just wandering along the chances are high you'll just complete them without realizing it.

Plus i'm not even sure these are repeatable. I could be wrong though.

Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.

Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.

I find it amazing how people get all upset with things without ever thinking it through.  This style of questing with bonus quests seems a lot smarter and more fun than almost anything you will find in most other MMOs, but it is so wrong because it is the same thing?  Amazing.

        BTW, good post whilan.

Even at lower levels my character in TOR might or might not be in a position to be doing some pretty cool, epic things and feeling pretty badass from the get go.
