If you have no interest in the game then the poll is obviously not even something you should participate in. I don't see where more options come into play. Is it because you want to play along?

Well no. The OP said he wanted the communities viewpoint - and some of this MMORPG community dont dig HackNSlash games, so this dudes comment is 100% valid.
And actually, its more like being a member of a Public Transort forum, and replying to a poll asking How Much you love Cars and you replying "I ride public transportation".

This is not a poll for people who play this genre. It is for everyone so, presumably, the OP gets a feel for how gamers in general are reacting to D3, a very famous franchise which has been hotly debated between the MMO community (both for and against its inclusion here.)

One of the options says something about pirating it.
How do you accomplish that? Being that the game is online only and your characters are actually kept on Blizzard servers. The whole point in them making the game online only is to prevent piracy. Oh Im sure one of these days someone might figure out a work around, at which point I'll kind of have to chuckle at Blizzard.
Speaking of which, the whole online only thing may very well keep me from buying the game. No...its not because I want a pirated copy. Its mainly because I like to play Diablo solo and kind of have the world to myself. And, every so often I get sick of paying my net bill and then dont for a few months, especially when there's not an mmo Im involved in. So when that happens I cant play Dialbo 3 ? No thanks. I know they're trying to prevent piracy. Except Im not sure if thats going to help them earn any more money. Most pirates will just play something else probably, instead of dish out cash for a game, or people like me wont buy the game just because its online only.
Im pretty sure Im mostly alone in not wanting to play it because of online only. But in regards to just me, they just lost some money, because I probably wont buy it just because of that.
For Diablo 1 and Diablo 2, the server hosting the games was either battle.net or your local machine (the server code was distributed with the game). For diablo 3, the server code is no longer distributed with the game, thus no offline/local hosting is available. Given how people have been able to sniff network packets and re-create their own shards for mmo's, I suspect it will only be a matter of time before a local server hack is created for D3. It will be more elaborate than the usual methods of circumvention, but those groups of people also thrive on challenges and the opportunity to innovate.
Edit: my vote was boycotting. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to play my games.

I'll probably not buy it at release if it's out this year, there's just too many other games coming out that i'm more interested in.

If I want to play WOW, I'll play WOW, geez, i'm not going to get DWOW too.
If you're going to boycott, also don't buy for your children no matter how much they nag you. Grow a pair already.
