Access to the beta testing is not given with pre-orders or through other purchases. It's not something Bioware would have any responsibility to give to you. It's something they may decide to give you for free if they so choose, not something you'd really have any right to demand.

It's not about equal or inequal treatment of customers at this point. As you aren't paying anything for the access you aren't even a customer when you're in beta, you're just a tester.

Comparison to Rift or many of the other beta tests can't be made fairly, because when beta access is promised with preorder it becomes a part of the sale according to laws of many European countries. Then the company will have responsibility to give that access and treat testers as customers.

EA / SWTOR say that there will be a beta, and people buy the game.

= But the stop/move beta and people feel cheated, no matter the server problem they may say they have.

They do everything for U.S. player(same happend in DAOC), and leave the EU players for left overs.

= EU players are again being treated like shit.

EA is just as full of lies and false promises as any other developer on the market.

    What a joke.

If you think that  "Old Bioware" have any influence over EA your living in a dream land.

Bioware owes you nothing. Your preorder only granted you a week early acces when the game is about to be released and a color stone.

    In Bioware we trust!

I agree, it is a joke.  People getting all butt hurt because they are not getting something they were never promised anyways.  Actually, it isn't a joke, it's pathetic.

Except that EA/Bioware have clearly stated that preordering will not give you beta access and it will not increase your chances to get beta access. Beta access is not something a normal person preordering SWTOR excepted to get in the first place.

Lol some people are extra thick or damn right delusional . You really think that all these years BioWare have not been after your money just like EA wants your money. BioWare knew what they were doing when they got into bed with EA,no one forced them.

You really think that BioWare are saying "look EA we love are followers and we don't want to hurt them" get real they are pulling the strings as much as EA our.

Take the goggles off and realise that BioWare could not care less what you think as long as you hand over your cash.

As for European being treated like shit, well that freaking obvious especially when you look at the price of the US game to the European.

Keep kidding yourself that it's all EA fault..image

    I absolutely agree - it's A BLOODY GAME!!!!

Go outside and have a game of rugby or something, get some perspective on life! Oh and yes, I AM in the EU too!

I agree, although I cannot for the life of me see why it needs to be so. I am in the EU and have loads of mates in the US, I am certainly not going to fall out with them because I can't play a beta of a game! It's ridiculous and I suspect only the juveniles on this forum are falling into the NA vs EU trap.

I look forward to playing the GAME as and when it comes out in the EU, I have paid for the collector's version (because I can and because I wanted to - no other reason) and I am quite happy to wait for the finished product. If I get in on a beta, great, if I don't, I will just go and do something else like watch the rugby world cup while I wait, it's really not the end of the world, no matter what some might want you to believe.

I suppose its not as bad as places like Phillipines and other countries who get screwed worse than Europe.

But still. This is nothing new. In reality I always thought Europe was a much easier market to focus on since our internet infrastructure is far superior to America/other countries apart from Asia. But oh well. Localisation problems. Sure. Call it what you want.

And we still have to pay more.

Only if you choose to buy, which, the last time I looked, wasn't compulsory.

Second rate citizen? Hello, you aren't a citizen, lol! (see what I did there? :P ) Anyway, I doubt you'll find much sympathy from most of us Americans as contrary to what many of those outside the US think the vast majority of us can read and write and we do read what you guys say about us. While I don't think my country is perfect I don't think others have the ground to stand on to look down their noses at us. As someone else stated, if you're so much better, so much more advanced...make your own MMOs.

Oh, that and the few MMO gaming companies that are outside the US do the exact same to US gamers as well. WOrld of Tanks did it. Age of Conan did as well if I remember right. The Koei company from Japan only produces certain titles that are shipped west and have whole sections of their catalogue that are Japan only.

The last time I checked the annual patent statistics, the EU was putting out an insignificant fraction of what the US and Japan were pumping into the world.  If they really want games like we have here in the US, they should consider becoming an immigrant.  Besides, the can say, it's outrageous for Bioware not to have EU testers; but, then turn a blind eye when a EU developer plays favorites with EU testers.  I've seen it before; which is why I refuse to play foreign games, the communities are just aweful!

Get off your high horse lol.

After 12 years of MMO gaming i can say without a doubt that american gaming communities are the most childish immature communities you will ever come across.

As for the immigrants, yeah perhaps we should become immigrants like you or have you forgotten that you are an immigrant. I am guessing you are European American.

I would imagine EA have them by the danglies. They are are a greed engine, pure and simple.

As long as that greed engine gets the game out in 2011-I'll be content. Far too many games I'm looking forward to are slipping further and further away....

"...A week early access..."  And where praytell did you come up with that information?  All I've heard at this time is that they'll be letting small groups of players start at a time so that their servers don't get swamped by the rush of people on release.  The only other rumor I've heard is that the order in which people entered their "Pre-Order" code will determine the order in which they'll have access to the game.

Still if you have other information, and can supply a link, then I'm certain that many of us will be interested.

This is the biggest load of BS. BioWare is not treating any Europeans like trash. Your taxes are too high which leads the CE edition and other products to have a higher cost. If your governments didn’t have to carry more than half your population, than you might have lower taxes. Plus your gas is very high due to taxation to pay for your medical and entitlement programs. So now ask yourself how socialism is hurting your entertainment factor unless you live in Amsterdam where you can bury your head in the coffee shops of sheer bliss…

FACT: BioWare found data that leads to the fact that they need to fix some major issues.  What a bunch of care bears who need a tissue when they get a little bruise on their pinky toe…there, there little bear, here is your tissues.

Bioware is not treating EU community like trash. They have a new build with language localization for the EU testers they want but want to implement the new build instead of the current one as it requires an entirely new download of the cllient and wiped characters.

    Pretty straight forward to me.

Localization may be 'nice to have' but i never playing any mmo(rpg) in my native language. For sure i chat in german language if i play, but always playing with english text+sound.

If you ever played WoW with german localisation you WILL understand me. I have no idea who translated all the stuff but eehhhww its a pain in the ass. Some words or names shouldnt be translated never ever ;-)

Not having EU servers ready is a huge failure. Having 2-3 weeks delay between first beta test on US/EU servers, omg.

Did you know that SWTOR will be released in US first, then with a delay of "a few" days, in the EU ?

EA isnt aware of the large # of customers in the EU, thats for sure.

It may not be the right way (maybe it is), but people are acting like it's something new or that BW/EA is treating them like trash (I'm not saying you are one of these people).

WoW US release was months before EU.

GTA 4 EU release was months before US.

GW1 US release was also days before EU.

Fable 2 and 3 were made by a UK company and still released in the US days before the EU.

Were they all treating the region who got it later like trash?
