Monitors are an iffy subject because some will say go high end, others will say just stay budget.
Personally, i run 3 Monitors in eyefinity. All the same monitor, 24" and 1080p. They work perfect and really have no reason to upgrade to something more expensive or something that claims to do more.
Wow, they went up in price.... there $169 now. I got mine for 149 haha.
Zambezi keeps getting delayed further. We are seeing the sort of leaks that usually indicate that a launch is imminent, however. AMD has now said October, but we don't know when in October.
Some leaked slides show an FX-8150 roughly competitive with a Core i7-2600K in well-threaded benchmarks. That might just be FUD, but if it's real, it's catastrophic for AMD. Eight cores should beat four handily in programs that scale well to eight cores. Individual "leaked" slides are often fake, but people usually won't fake a whole slideshow like that.
On the other hand, everyone who knows for sure is under NDA and isn't allowed to say. AMD did manage to keep "Surprise, the Radeon HD 4850 and 4870 are really awesome for the price!" under wraps until launch day, forcing Nvidia to cut prices on their own competing cards by about 1/3 overnight.
yah, zambezi is starting to piss me off:D they got till the 12th to put the product out or i'm dropping the hammer on that 2500k. amd need to stop this cat and mouse crap with the 2700k and just release the damn chip...
Ok thanks guys. In terms of expectations for this rig - will it beast through most games/programs? Is it worth going for the GTX 570 rather than the one I have? I think I'll stick with the screen I have now judging from the reviews. So Quizz if I understand you correctly, based on the rumours floating about, I shouldn't hold my breath too much for the Zambezi release?

Thanks.

it's up to you. generally speaking, with each new chip release, there is a "price adjustment" on the market. for example, intel is due to release the 2700k about 2 weeks after zambezi to hold the current 2600k price range and dropping the price of 2600k to compete with zambezi directly. so if you arent waiting for performance reasons, there might be financial reasons to wait.
but, i'm at the point i'm almost out of time on waiting so they need to release the product or i'll have to go intel.
