It's more likely that EA will push the game out before it's finished than to delay it indefinitely, in my opinionn.

to be serious, this game has a number of issues and i cannot see it coming out in 2011. before you get all mad, it is in your best interest that this game be delayed unitl february or march. just factoring in their timetable as far as client release, the amount of fixes needed and testing time. i imagine going into detail would get the post deleted, if anyone has any questions on specifics PM me.
IF this game comes out in november/december, it'll be in bad shape.

alot of things are good, but there are also things that MUSt be addressed, and it being "just fine" is wishful thinking right now.
And I suppose you are a beta tester that is breaking the NDA to tell the "truth" about the game. Then again, if you can't be trusted to honor a simple NDA then how is anyone going to trust any of what you claim to say?

this is nothing more then something to get a rise out of people and in no way based upon any facts...
'Just Fine' implies it is still in BETA, there are GOING to be things that HAVE to be fixed before release, which is the POINT of beta. OVERALL <---(that word is the kicker), this game is coming along 'just fine' and if continued in this fashion will release next year, maybe even LATE next year if they scrap some things and start from scratch on them.
If they have enough people on it, which i mean, its bioware, the game might still even release this year. a bit wishful? maybe. possible? maybe.

really it needs 2 more test phases. there's time for another one before the supposed launch window, but the amount of work to be done to fix things would be just outside their usual time table.
it would have to be a miracle build, something that has never been done.
Many games, after the first or second stage closed beta, have glaring issues. You can list all the MMO's on the top 50 list and you'll have just listed all the games that were pretty much in the same state as ToR's current state.
They are releasing a completely new build in the next couple of weeks and most expect another round of Beta testing to hit within the next 30 days. I don't expect to see anything close to open-B for at least 60-90 days.
Also, there will ALWAYS be someone posting somewhere about how bad insert game name here is in it's current state. Odds are, those people have no idea how game development progresses and double those odds that they aren't even looking at the core because fluff and graphics is all they truly care about.
this is why i feel it should be pushed back by two months. it's not completely atrocious or unplayable, but these aren't all quick fixes. also, optimization still has not been done at all. we'll see what the next build holds, but i don't think it'll be ready for release november/december. there's little point in some of you getting upset because this will be better for the game's reception.
there will not be an open beta, the game is expected by most people(and by EA apparently) to release in about six to eight weeks and i know how development progresses. i've been in plenty of MMO beta tests. i also know how fanboys react to anything less than gushing praise.
i would rather take a little information from a guy thats seen some stuff rather than a gaming company thats leading us on for years....
but i dont know about it being in our best interest if its delayed, i for one would rather deal with some bugs for a little bit than wait untill they actualy start building the deathstar for this game to come out.

one or two month wouldn't be so bad. a smooth launch is much more important, fans are already willing to deal with any initial hiccups, even big ones.
This NDA on ToR is beyond aggrivating right because it makes forming a actual opinion on the game impossible. It is hard to say when someone is trolling because the second they post info that breaks the NDA mmorpg.com is required to delete the post lol

Well to form an opinion, you would have to have the launch build to even have all the info. Until we have a release date and launch build, it will continue to be tested and is only a beta build. So NDA is just stating the obvious. The game is being tested and changing based on feedback.
So really it just comes down to what they want that last build to be. How many times are they going to change things basted on testers feedback. It still very well could come out in Nov/Dec. But if it isn't in Nov, I think it will be pushed to Feb/March. I really want to play this game, so I am hoping for Nov. But I don't care when, I will be playing for a long time regardless. I can wait.

You go into Beta testing like this when you think your game is ready for launch. I think what happened is they were dumb and tried to use the Beta wekends for marketing and it completely back fired in their faces.
By the time the second Beta rolled around on Rift the NDA was gone. There was review after review of every aspect of the game and you could form extremely solid opinions on the game. I just hope they do not screw this up and ruin what could be much needed competition into this market.
