The grapichs i saw on another video where amazing. The version on xbox will be downgraded. the ps3 version will be better, the pc version will be even better. the grapichs will be beast either way. (HD tv's etc savey?)
Why so much console hate ... ive been to multiple forums today in wich ive seen threads going raaawwwr consoles suck and vice versa. (buying Skyrim on the PC because i just bought a new beastie ) but i play console asswell i dont understand where all the hate is comming from.
Edit : Gameplay > grapichs for any game. This one will ahve bought the gameplay with amazing looks
Cool factor only.
It's a PC heavy forum and people like to run in packs.
I'm not sure what version I'll be picking up. No demo for general release (understandable considering what the open world environment will be like) means.. I'll probably get it from Steam just because I know I like playing Elder Scroll games on the PC.
I used to play MMOs like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
Sure it looks not bad for console and its prolly still a good game but come on its 2011 it should have a pc version showing awesome graphics, instead it show mediocre graphics on a inferior xbox, Its not only a consoleport(last demo showned on xbox) but also steamgame.
And all reviews and videos are xbox 360 and Tod Howard is liar by saying game is made for todays pc's hardware with newest techniques?
No quadcore no DX11 no 2011 pc, but its build for a 6year old xbox:(
Sure i can play offlinemode but only if i install and updated through steam or no play at all.
They became great company today becouse of pc gamers but money rules so they abandon pc for inferior consoles:(
PC is even more dead then i thought, soon in 2012 still have newly released games for DX9.0c and OS xp build games:(
You, sir, have no idea what Elder Scrolls games are about.
I shall light a candle for you, so you might find your way once more.

Lol, the main thing is of course how fun the game is, I for one still think Daggerfall is the best of them all...
That doesn't mean that we should be happy if the graphics gets worse because they want the game to work on a ancient crappy X-box 360. Making games multi platform seems to make the game worse.
We might not buy it for graphics or similar but rumors that some games are smaller so you can port them to the 360 is enough for me to think bad thoughts about consoles.
I agree with it not being about the graphics.. If you played any elder scrolls game only for it's graphics then i'm at a loss for words.
It still looks pretty good imo, all new engine and takes quite a big leap from what Oblivion looked like.
But if it's not up to your standard still.. You're also forgetting about all the mods that will be out there. Eventually there will be some that allow you to improve the visuals. Both morrowind and oblivion have mods that can do it, so i'm sure skyrim will too..

I didn't say I was happy about it. I just find it comes second, especially with the Elder Scrolls.
Also, what did you expect the game is going to be on Xbox PS3 and PC, that means it has to be able to be played on all three.
The modding community of TES games will for sure mod it to make it look AMAZING on PC shortly after release.
This, particularly the last sentence. The modding community for Elder Scrolls has always been huge.
Furthermore, why are people ragging on the graphics? Whats wrong with them? They look absolutely AMAZING even on the Xbox. Whats wrong with you people?
Are some of you put out because you cant literally reach inside the screen and touch a plant and yank it out into the real world or what? Im totally lost here. A game doesnt have to utilize every last tiny bit of your PC power to have good graphics. Graphics are about art. This looks miles ahead of Oblivion graphically.
I have a pretty decent computer. But I played Oblivion on my 360. I have Oblivion for the PC too. I just prefer it on the 360. Menu navigation was made seemless using a controller. I find it actually easier than trying to use the keyboard.
The PS3 and 360 are capable of a LOT graphically. Most developers still havent fully utilized the hardware in those machines. So stop complaining. I'll say that again. Most games dont utilize the full power of the PS3 for instance. And they still look graphically amazing.
Generally I don't worry that much about the graphics.
What I worry about these days is game series that started out on the PC becoming primarily console games.
Yes, they bring them to the PC too, but with terrible controls and in general lack-luster quality, just as an after-thought. Despite the fact that PC gamers are what made the series popular in the first place.
Yeah, I'm looking at you Dungeon Siege 3.
But I don't think we'll have to worry about that in this case, Bestheda is pretty good about multiplatform from my experience.
Played: DAoC, AC2, WoW, CoH, GW, GW2, WAR, AoC, Champions Online, Rift, Dragon Nest, Vindictus, Warframe, Neverwinter, Dungeon Fighter Online
People, stop saying graphics doesn't matter. We all know it does. A little less for some, much more for others.
Of course, gameplay is more important, but a good game consists of two biggest things - good gameplay and good graphics.
On the other hand, the graphics of Skyrim look fantastic, at least from what i've seen in videos..
Seems like skyrim will be that big thing in RPG gaming, i think the last good rpg i played was gothic2.
Sorry your wrong i prefer most of the 2d old school rpgs over the newer 3d ones cause the more they put into graphics the less they put into the story-telling imo. I would rather have a sprite based 2d skyrim then a 3d one aslong as the story was epic and there was lots of things to do which is prolly why my favorite game right now is terraria. Graphics mean nothing to me and most peorple that say that do mean it sorry to burst your bubble
Pretty much all PC gamers are closet graphics whores. How else can we justify often spending three times the price for a PC to largely play nothing but console ports with such marginal graphical enhancments?
Furthermore, why are people ragging on the graphics? Whats wrong with them? They look absolutely AMAZING even on the Xbox. Whats wrong with you people?
Are some of you put out because you cant literally reach inside the screen and touch a plant and yank it out into the real world or what? Im totally lost here. I agree with this.
I mean, "really" what we are seeing in the demos isn't good enough? really?
Are we seriously forgetting that games used to look like this?
and this?
or even this:
which actually still looks pretty good.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
So far the game looks pretty good to me, but saying graphics don't matter is stupid. Otherwise why is everyone buying all these expensive graphics cards.
OOoooo look...im hardcore. I don't even need graphics. Just parse the game to me in morse code...
Graphics dont makes good game. Just look a minecraft lol. I have faith in bethesday, the whole elder scrolls series has been phenomenal, the best RPG series of all time. I expect Skyrim to be the same.
I have faith in betesda to release a buggy near unplayable pc and console game. They are known for not testing their products properly and releasing them with a ton of bugs that never should have gotten past QA. But I still love their games, fan patches make all the diff, poor silly console-hobo's gotta wait on Bethesda to get off their ass to patch it properly XD. I think to this day there is still a game breaking bug in that Broken Steel dlc for fallout 3, that Bethesda still has not fixed to this day yet.
Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either:
A. Proven right (if something bad happens)
or
B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens)
It looks fine to me, but the third person still seems a bit lame, and its still the slow moving single player the previous versions were, what it needs is a multiplayer co-op mode or some type of persistent world to keep this game going for a long time.
From what I seen Sofar its lightyears ahead of oblivion in terms of grapics, also game mechanics seem to be far more intresting.
so it does not use state of the art grapics...who cares, its still better then the former title and this way more gamers can play the game since not everyone got a super pc. its a bussiness and a bussiness will always try to find the middle ground between demand on the high end and the masses. that some people are crazy enough to buy the high end hardware that is way ahead of time is cool for them but plain stupit to think a developer will start making games for that niche of gamers.

1) Who cares, it looks fine to me. But then I like the mount & blade series and believe gameplay trump graphics every time.
2) News Flash. All Bethesda games in recent times have been using steamworks, not sure why you are surprised by this.
3) PC is far from dead. Quite a few companies have woken up to the fact PC is not the devil they thought it was (largely due to piracy concerns) and several AAA titles coming this year are being built for PC then ported to consoles....
DX10 is a bit of a joke really and DX 11 is still quite new & it will take a year or two for more games to arrive that have engines built fro DX11 frm the ground up (instead of just having a few DX11 feature bolted onto old engines) keeping in mind games coming out this year have been in development for 2-5 years and are thus using engines that are 1-2 years old or more.
Everyone isn't. I play on a four year old laptop. The vast majority of people play on "Wal-mart grade" computers. If it's good enough for WoW, and almost anything is, it should be good enough for any game. Right? The biggest problem these days isn't graphics quality. It's graphics that are so poorly optimized with a $250.00 card games still run as slow as molasses in Antarctica unless you turn then down to butt ugly mode. Lets hope Skyrim doesn't fall into that category.
... Thus the birth of consoles ...
Look, PC games are not, nor have they ever been, created to play on Walmart PCs. I'm sorry.
Yes, a majority of computer users have a min. spec system but they aren't typically "us" gamers. Anyone who is SERIOUS into PC games tends to update once every 2-3 years with minor updates when we feel the need. I measure my need for computers by the games that come out. When I can't play on medium graphics, I update. Just how PC's are.
If you don't WANT to keep up, then play it on the 360 or PS3. They aren't BAD they're just different.
And for the person crying about Steamworks... GTFO... I don't particularly like the control Steam exerts but I can count on them to keep my game up to date, allow mods, and allow me to download my game over and over and over and over should I misplace the disks. It's far superior than the old "find the patch on some sketchy website to update and then have to find patch #2 to update it again and then patch #3 on another sketchy site that is down for maintenance".
Look at Dragon Age 2, with DX 11, the HD textures patch, and settings on max it looks amazing. But it was also on the xbox 360 and ps3, where it looks nowhere near as good. Deus Ex might be getting a patch later on for the pc.
Don't you think the same will be true for Skyrim? You know how big the modding community is for The Elder Scrolls series too. After all the graphics mods that come out in the next 6 months you will probably need tri-SLI or tri-crossfire just to run Skyrim at 30 fps. But it sure will be pretty won't it?

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim may look best on a PC, but its easiest to run demos at tradeshows on a 360, says Todd Howard -gamesradar.com

Your last hope? I seriously doubt that. You will have a new hope within one year, I'd wager.
Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.
You, sir, have no idea what Elder Scrolls games are about.
I shall light a candle for you, so you might find your way once more.
I called it, they are setting low expectations early, smart.
Now, if only they would have known this would make *some* people assume it was the end of the world.

I had the same reaction. My first thought was...heck I can play AOC and have a free...and better game.
Skyrim looks GOTY worthy. If you aren't interested you simply aren't interested.

You used your imagination, it was the best graphics card of all.

Sure, graphics are nice, but bombing a game because you think the graphics aren't "perfect" is fail.

Listen not to the hecklers and trolls, and let not the mediocre screenshots and half-assed demos cloud your mind.
