This dude actually thinks SWTOR has autoattack when it doesn't, go figure. And bunny-hopping with dodge button isn't the end-all of combat, to me it doesn't even make sense that all classes can magically dodge (yeah right, mages dodge?)
Besides that, GW2 combat is actually very similar to SWTOR (being still TAB combat) so there is little room to moarn and cry over there.
Some people in the press are seriously prejudiced over SWTOR, a game doesn't have to have revolutionary claims in order to be great. I just compiled a full list of SWTOR information and the number of changes it actually tries from WoW/RIFT etc. is still pretty huge, even though it clearly doesn't want to reinvent to wheel; and for those games who are trying, there is no guarantee they will actually succeed.
None of them are as good as the Mighty Behemoth that is Tomato anyway.

I am a HUGE fan of both Guild Wars and Star Wars and I must say that this reviewer had his mind set on "talking down" on SW:TOR from the very first sentence. If you read both his impression articles on SW:TOR and GW2 you can see obvious points.
Case in point:
Guild Wars Quote: "Someone had kindly selected my character as a charr thief and with the battle only seconds from beginning..."
SW:TOR Quote: "Disappointingly, the character creator wasn’t available (though I suspect this was more to do with ensuring players didn’t waste valuable time) and so a predefined list of ready made characters was there for you to choose from."
No mention of GW2 character creator, but that someone was "kind" enough to select the character for him versus he was "disappointed" with the lack of character creation for SW:TOR.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a fan of one game versus another, but if you want to keep your integrity as a journalist at least stay unbiased in your writings.
Theres a difference between CC not being available and someone picking your character for you when the CC is available.
No it is one in the same. If he is going to complain about not being able to create his own character in SW:TOR then he should complain about the same for GW2. If anything he had more choice with SW:TOR being able to choose which class he had the option to play versus being told "this is what your playing".
Humm looks like a guild wars 2 fan bashing SW:TOR in a review how new and interesting...
Because that's the only reason people don't like the game.
A ton more to it than that. Sure I would imagine some GW2 fans would say they don't like TOR because they love GW2 but you can say that for many TOR fans who dislike GW2 because it isn't TOR. Works both ways but as I said, I hardly doubt that is the main reason why people diss TOR.
I was starting to find the vegetable debate soothing. Can we get it back please?
There is no debate really. Carrot > all else when it finally gets released.
Did you see the screen of the cake content? No other vegetable has that feature. At least Carrot is innovating. (Can't say that about Leek LOL. GG Onion clone!).

No, it isn't the same. For TOR the CC isn't available. For GW2 it is, if he wanted to he could have made his own character if he wanted. From the sound of the quote it seems that the character he played was made by the person that played the demo right before him.

I'm sick and tired of the same old fruits and veggies we've always had, farmers today suck, they never innovate.
/Agree, the veggies tasted a lot better in 2002.

I've seen a six year old dodge a water balloon. I'm pretty sure it was Steve Jobs who popularized moving out of the way of sharp objects or projectiles. Or at least made it stylish. Behind the times, TOR, behind the times.
GW2 combat is infinitely more complex, while being just as easy to learn. It has actual depth rather than basic button mashing.
PM me your list (I'm in the beta). I'd like to check to see if you've listen any class abilities that don't have counterparts in WoW. From the videos, it's clear there aren't any.
Except maybe cover. Though from the videos, it doesn't look impressive. I imagine they'll throw in random boxes and such in PvE and PvP so the smuggler knows where he has to go to be useful or not die.
All I know is, renegade turnips have been laying a smackdown for generations. I think its hard to compete with that.
Yeah, but they're just limping along. Turnips are bound to go F2P any day now, their cabbage patches are almost empty. Either merge cabbage patches, or open a fertili$er $hop.

Fertilizer shops are all P2W, ... you start with lettuce, cucumbers, celery, then next thing you know you start throwing everything in.... watermelons.. legumes.... its not worth it.

Oh hi Maskedweasel.
You're tearing me apart btw.

Isn't that a fruit?
Berries can't be veggies, this clearly belongs on the berry forums.

My brand new bloggity blog.
What are you doing, stop going on topic, that has no place here.
Also, we need more Wiseau in our diet.

Sarcasm is not a crime!
I heard tomatoes have spies in the vegetable community. I cry 'no fair!'.
All I know is, renegade turnips have been laying a smackdown for generations. I think its hard to compete with that.
I hear vegetables.com will open a forum for tomatoes regardless of them being no vegetables. That's outrageous!
My brand new bloggity blog.
But that's only because of the IP, and carrots have been doing that same thing for just as long.
Yeah that's when they all started trying to be meat clones.

I am saddened by the severe lack of Wiseau, here have some.
Beets are the future!
Carrots likely stole the idea from turnips in the first place. I expect to see some litigation.
All I know is I've never met a turnip I didn't like, but carrots, well, can you really trust a carrot?
