I'm curious how a bot will know how to dodge/block honsetly...considering mostly all bots ive seen barely know how to kill things and move out of the way of damage.. Basicly you dont move around and/or dodge/block you DIE.. also i dont realy se the point of bots considering there realy arent much farming from what i can tell.. you cant repeat quests because there are none.. and the best loot comes from crafting and de's.(or personal story).. just done realy see where they will fit in...
I've seen bots so good that you can barelly tell they aren't human, how can you dodge stuff? You only have to find a mob that doesn't do anything extra ordinary, and has some special abilitie on a cast time, bot sees cast time and dodges, something as simple as that.
I've seen a bot in WoW that would pick 10-15 mobs in one area kite them and kill them all at once proceeding to loot everything, when he had full bags he would pop jeeves (portable vendor) and sell the trash.
As for the loots or whatever, you have crafting, thats all they need.
Believe it or not, there are enough ppl that don't like to do any crafting at all, because lets be honest, not everyone likes to go pick up 100 ore, and if the bots dropped the price on the market with their overflow its probably better to just buy it of AH, and then theres ppl who don't even have the gold to buy this and don't want to farm the gold, so they buy it from a website, and the circlejerk continues
Thats exactly it thoe.. ive seen bots like that 2, but with simple tab target or kite mechanix its easy to bot it. however when you ad in the twich bassed dodge when damage is about to hit then it causes a probelm with the bot code. and again, everything worth while generaly comes from the events or actual content in the game.. not from farming some mod hopeing for a good drop. Also mobs in areas change due to the dynamic event system.. one day there could be rats the next day they could be drakes.. you dont know, and it could change within a few hours. (also unlike games like aion or wow its not like you can just run up and bot on sprigs for 5 hours, considering the fact you dont have that guarentee they will even be where you last saw them)
The only thing i can see actualy being viable is gathering crafting mats, and since you dont need some special tool or skill to get them and that you dont have to worry about dissapearing nodes it realy doesent seem like a problem for general players to just pick stuff up on the fly. While i know alot wont and bots will be farming these, its the extent that is in question with that. We have no idea how long it takes for a node to let you farm it again, and each crafting node is set in a specific spot, and everyone gets their own loot from that node. Also game changing dynamics might come into play and be a problem for mat farmers there 2... considering that if those nodes are near a mine or mill, it wont be that easy to just run up and take mats from a hostile area if a event poped earlier and mobs took over the area..
So im still trying to wrap my head around the actual ability to bot in this game.
Anyone who played Aion can back me up on this. Since NCsoft has their grubby hands in this one.. is it going to be another Spam fest *selling gold* nightmare that Aion was.
Are the servers going to be open to any country? if so we can expect massive bot/farming/gold spamming dooshes that will ruin the economy and possibly the game?
It's never been a problem in the original GW, because the game got in many times it development costs without any gold selling alá Aion.
As long as GW2 do fine they will let it be. If however it doesn't sell as expected they will add stuff like that, but frying the goose that lays golden eggs is stupid and while NC soft is greedy they aren't stupid.
I think the same with TOR, EA will give Bioware free hands more or less, but if it wont sell well they will put preassure on it and do to BW what they did to Mythic.

You mean what EA did to Origins, Bullfrog, Lionhead, oh wait. What franchies hasn't EA fucked up?
