I saw this coming with the GMS doing his job lately. I am more than a little happy Shinzon is stepping down. Since his reign the gap between customer and player communication grew. I wish he would take Talwin with him. I really hope Talwin does not take his place.
Talwin does not have the maturity to be a moderator, let alone a lead moderator. Talwin for CM would be a worse idea than me for CM.
A moderator who lets grudges both ingame and out get in the way of his job is unsuitable. Talwin ignores certain people while talking to others, purely because "name" killed him ingame and made him mad, or he had argument with "name" now doesnt like them.
This isn't my personal dislike of him speaking this is from a neutral point of view. He was a terrible choice of mod and still is. In fact he's a lot worse than when he started.
Mods should be mature, especially when they play the same game as the people they mod for.
I honestly cant really think of a good candidate for this role but i do know talwin or tizio would be bad choices , except maybe a gm like theia who is already doing a decent job as a gm so would seem a little silly to move him to community manager and have to replace his previous position.
i personally thought black opal wasnt a bad community manager, certainly better than maerlyn.
there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.
Gamers putting money into a company running a game like this are doing sandbox gaming on the Pc no favours.
Well if other companies had the balls to step up and actually did a good job of it we'd put our money there instead. Thousands of players are stuck hoping that MO gets on the right track one day, and many of us enjoy our time regardless. I've never had as much fun for a prolonged time in any other game, in fact nothing comes close, and yet in most aspects the game is really simple and poorly implemented.
I was really hoping that eventually Black Opal would come here under his real name/title and clear up some of those "gray area's" for us... Evidently thats not happening.
As gar as CM's go (honestly) BO was a whole lt better than the other names being bantered around. BO wasnt a bad guy, just had an impossible job. I mean, after so long the stress of having to defend this game/company as they continue to make the same basic mistakes and stupid descisions over and over again- To continue to try to keep positive and upbeat- To have to make excuses and lies for an inept dev team- To be the middle man between a shady company and a community which is running out of patience... This would be far more stress and headache than whatever SV is paying him (I have heard he is paid in free game time- I have no idea if this is true.)
I imagine that (like everything else related to this game) there is FAR more to this story that we may never know. Personally I THINK Black Opal had really hoped to be a bridge of communication between the devs and the community- I really feel BO was sick and tired of having his "hands tied" and being a mere mouthpiece for Henrick. I think BO knows the ship is sinking and is tired of making lies and excuses for SV.
The fact is... We will never know.
What we do know is that in the last 1.5 to 2 years, SV has had 3 community managers (the next will be 4) and censorship of the community has always seemed to be the #1 job of the CM.
Well- like Clyde said- Talwin would be a horrible choice for CM as would any one else I can think of. The CM job will certainly be filled by an SV puppet (if its filled at all) when what is needed is some real communication, dicussion and answers- Not heavy handed censorship and tactics used to discourage discusion.
i think his grounds for leaving are credible that he simply doesnt have the time to invest in being a community manager anymore. I do not beleive he left through stress or a disagreement with SV. I dont think the place will be filled tbh, probably henrik or another dev will take on that role. If he was being paid in free game time he ghardly used it i probably seen him on 2 occassions ingame on his actual characters since he became CM, i beleive he doesnt have the time to play, or is no longer inteested in the game having been with it over a year.

Something's clearly wrong when people are too busy "stalking" the employees, rather than enjoying the game.
You are corect; something is clearly very wrong with the game and the company that runs it...
But seriously, why come to this site if you don't like what is being talked about???
Merely voicing my opinion about the subject, which is what a forum is for .

When it's their opinion, the person is just voicing their thoughts. Everyone else? Needs to find something better to do with their time.
I'm not shooting down anyone's opinion. You on the other hand.....
I think you're wasting time following the dev's every "reallife" step. You don't seem to argue with that at all, instead just claim how I think my opinion is everything and yours is nothing. Which is laughable at best.

Not exactly a shock as he hadn't posted in almost 3 weeks.
So who's up next for the merry-go-round? Any of our friends from here?

Actually, that worries me most. Shinzon is not the worst possible candidate.
Sorry to see him go. I thought he did a pretty good job as the CM, and was a valuable member of the community before that.
Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.

Black Opal resigns = Black Opal comes back with new nickname
that would be stupid, it'd be too easy to realize
Easier than realizing what company we are talking about?
Good riddance, Henrik is next.
Except it's been done by SV in the past... COUGH*ST.JUDAS*COUGH

I am aware of some regular mods coming back under new names, but what about ST.Judas? oO
Why don't you lot just let it go?

I dont actually know much about St Judas...who did he come back as?
Cause there is more sand on the forums with all the drama surrounding the game, then in the game it self
