I will roll a badass Darth Maul like Sith Assasin because that is what this game is for. No need to be "original" and deny yourself the fun of slashing away with force-lightning and ligfhsabres just to be special. No one fucking cares!
Good call.
This game is about fun, not being an economic world sim. Those trying the SWG argument of "it doesnt fit the canon to have a bunch of Jedi" are off the mark. It actually does fit the canon.
Asking Devs to make AAA sandbox titles is like trying to get fine dining on a McDonalds dollar menu budget.
There will be plenty of troopers as well as non force sensitives in this game. Why do you care what other people are playing anyway?
Because immersion is touted as this games strength, if it's not good then meh because the rest does not seem better or worse than any other mmorpg.
If Bioware was doing like SOE by basing this game in the era of The Empire Strikes Back and allowing jedi to be everywhere then you would have a point. Since this game is based in the era of The Old Republic where armies of force sensitives are fighting each other your complaint makes no sense.
Does it really matter if there is an insane amount of force users? Honestly in any successful MMO with classes.. there is a lot of any class.
Beyond that when I was first back in beta back in March I made a Sorc. Just for kicks I made another recently because a lot of people said the game content was harder. Sorc is a fun class and I can level stupid fast and take on content that is.. well anyway its a fun class.
Yet I will never play one in *live*. The only force class I would consider in *live* is Marauder because its been fairly hated in beta (think its fun personally).
I really enjoy Bounty Hunter and Agent (as well as Trooper and Smuggler). Thing is.. you are going to see a ton of those too.
Originally posted by Gothbag The thing is that Jedi/Sith are supposed to be a strict minority, armies of Jedi won't make for a very immersive gameplay experience.
except, you know, the fact that armies of jedi and sith existed in this time period, so if thats immersion breaking for you get out, since its not the universe for you clearly.
To be honest, I'm not that familiar with the Old Republic universe, I played both KOTORs and it didn't feel like there were so many Jedi but I guess I was wrong.
If you are not familiar with it, how can you complain? Seriously.

Other than yourself touting immersion in your post. Are there any Bioware ads listing immersion as a key component of this game? Or are you listening to forum dwellers making that claim?

Also in kotr for the large part you were guided thru it on such a planned route that unlesss they wanted to show you force users no luck, as well as being in places that were largely already checked by the jedi/sith or away from the lines between them. Add in to the fact that if i am not correct kotr is after the sith empire is defeated by several generation or more meaning you would most likely still have less jedi and sith in it as well.
95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch.

ive always been compelled to play the underplayed classes due to being accepted in groups and loot distribution.
then i get burned out fast and find im not having a good time. so, those days are over. im gonna play a sith warrior and assassin
and enjoy the game with the countless others
