Wow WAS great.  Wow WAS awesome when I played it.  It deifnitly deserved teh subs that it accumulated over the years.

But its getting old.  I try not to bash it but its just a fact when it comes to video games.  Even if wow drops 50% next year it will still be a great game will probably be the longest running video game success ever created for a long time.

but really ex WoW players and current wow players should either enjoy wow today or otehr good offerings like SWTOR until Blizzard decides to launch titan.

1.i knock it cuz imo there should even more races than what they have now..yes more..more room for more expan and leaves more room for more story lines..no this is not a bad thing..eq has been poping out expan. pacs sence some guys were babys and they still get the job done

2.imo they missed the buss / short buss when they could had ported this to a console..wow could had been even more of a juggernaut than it is today..and i also think they are missing out on the f2p market..they have soo many things to buy for "in game" imo blizz would rake in tons of cash and still get to walk around and bragg about how many MORE subs they would have

3.its just easy..too dam easy and plays / feels like a f2p mmo..paying monthly subb is not what i want to do for a mmo where you can lvl cap all char slots within a month / weeks the game was great when released but as it progressed it became a circus..theampark even..and too much questing on rails..same ol same ol ..but this could all be flipped if blizz would release a "more sandbox xpan" something like where its hella hard to craft things..kill things..and just makeing the game worth while when you log in..theres no reason why they couldnt do this..but its clear to see that blizz setting its bar low with easy mode stuff more for kids and more for 1st timers to the mmo genra

to all the kiddies out there saying pandas are just silly..well ya it did sound silly at the time but more races / classes are not a bad thing..no matter what kind of race / class it is...people get to knockin wow cuz its such an easy target..and a big one at that

if eq had released a rat  / frog / kung-fu lizard or even alien race /  class would everyone be up in arms about that?..no..more is better anyway you cut it

sw:tor fan boies like to joke about this..but tor is the 1st type of sci-fy mmorpg that didnt have a true choice of creating a "alien" char. in a open universe..all char. models look have the same chunky / skinny human with just diff skin color and a random spikes / tentacles on the head..i know gameplay is what matters but when you have everyone looking the same it makes the game mindless and dull

    Because it ruined the industry.

Wow is by far the most successful mmo, maybe even game ever.  Blizzard has made millions upon millions, so people gotta hate.  Just like the a-hole that keyed my car, just because my car could do circles around his in a race hehe.

P.S. if you ever key a classic car, you have no soul and should be hanged!

Well I agree that classic cars should never be treated in such a way - the WoW part I have mixed feelings about.  People are radically different.  Like snow flakes, we're all different special individuals and all that nice stuff.  Some people may in fact, as you say, hate Blizzard simply because of the money they made .. but using the car analogy, you would also be saying they think the game is better than the ones thay like.  WoW is not necessarily better than some other MMOs, and as I've said, there's another reason people (like myself) "hate", but it's not WoW I hate, it's Blizzard and what they've become.  Looking back to the 90's, they were a more honest company, they weren't flashy or showy or cocky and they didn't rip off other games' ideas and pop culture references to be more mainstream.  I'm happy for them making money, it's the captialist dream, but I'm not happy about their attitude.  I might be in the minority there, but I have my ethical standards just like everyone else, and unlike when I was a child, the industry has changed... sometimes in very ugly ways.

Other than that, I agree with someone that just said "It (WoW) killed the industry).  While it made MMO's popular in a sense, it has made many of them too similar.  That's my take.  Sorry about your ride.

I think we all even those that havnt played Wow has a love hate relationship with the game for one reason or another.  I met my current partner in WoW and we have been living together for the past 5 yrs and not played WoW for the past 4 yrs.  We have our memories and talk about things that happened then, but thats as far as it goes.  WoW is a has been for me, it is also the bane of other MMO's as every other developer wants the same success, its never going to happen in my life time or yours, so I just wish Developers would just build an MMO up from the ground and stop trying to compete with Blizzard for numbers and try and think about what they are trying to achieve with their game instead.
