"This is a question for those who will be subscribed for SWTOR for at least 6 months. Those who like the game and want it be their home." That would be me...since I plan on staying subbed.
Seems like your topic asked me directly what I am personally doing...so....I gave an answer.
You are planning on staying subbed even when you don't play the game? My consciousness would eat a hole through my skull, wasting money, responsibilities, etc...
I always do.
I never know when I'm going to have time to play or even the desire. The idea of constantly canceling just because I don't know and tehn suddenly wanting to play only to have to put all my info in is too tedious. Especially because it's just 15 or so dollars.
I never see "convenience" as a waste of money.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
I might be a unique situation, but with a newborn at home I imagine it will take me awhile to get to cap with the characters I want to play (warrior main, smuggler alt). So at 6 months in I'll still be finishing up with the endgame raids with my buddies, the solo endgame planet, and getting my pvp gear.
i tried the space game and while its not a go anywhere do anythign space game its fun for what it is.
Im sorry it is . The biggest problem people have with the space game has nothing to do with fun but with what they wanted and didnt get.
For a mini game space combat is quite fun and compelling.
Im not a sim space guy so that knd of direction would of kept me out of the space part and maybe out of tor if it was a huge part of the game so glad they didnt go that route.
It's a Bioware game, they have always been about building a story around you so why would you expect anything different now?
My hope is that we will see a steady stream of new content accross the board being added after launch. I expect my $15 a month to be like prepaying for regular DLC content for the game. If they don't deliever that I probably will walk away from the game after a few months even though I really enjoyed the beta.
As for the comments about space combat I personally really enjoyed it. It's a very well done rail shooter and if you look at for what it is rather than what people wish it was it's easy to see that.
I'll hopefully be in GW2 if not I'll def be in TSW waiting on GW2. TOR will no way shape or form hold my attention for more then 2 months, maybe 3. Rift held it for 2 months so I dont see any reason why TOR cant hold it for that length or maybe a bit longer since It does have a some what deeper game play element with its storyline CO's and the World PvP.
Playing: GW2 Waiting on: TESO Next Flop: Planetside 2 Best MMO of all time: Asheron's Call - The first company to recreate AC will be the next greatest MMO.

HA! You better hope they aren't scumbags and make you pay for expansion packs on top of the subscription that supposively goes into creating content/updates.
True PvP ?? There is planets dedicated to just pvp, yes the old tired battlegrounds as well, but lots of open world PVP in SWTOR, even a great Free for all zone to aquire rare items and crafting materials where everyone on the map is Red other then your party.
So there is some hope for good worl d PVP in SWTOR.
But in 6 months, hopefully I find myself playing alts and doing some fun end game content both in open world and in instances.
I'll probably roll different characters and level them to 50, till I have a character of each Adv. Class and then I'll probably play whatever content there is. Perhaps even PvP.
I doubt I will have an active subscription after 6 months. I don't foresee an awesome end-game other than the very same WoW offers. I'm really put off with that you can't choose which WZ you want to queue for, hopefully that will change in release since I can't stand doing Huttball and Alderaan anymore, only Voidstar is fun for me. Might be because I've actually gotten to play it about 15 times and Huttball and Alderaan over 100 times combined.
Well, I got only myself to blame for playing the beta so extensively that I've burned through most of the content that will be avaible at launch.
Right now we got the launch candidate in beta and it's still ridden with bugs and no new content, hardcore/power gamers will be really dissapointed with this game but it will have a long span for casual gamers who only play a couple of hours per week.
If you're a casual MMO gamer my guess is that you'll enjoy SWTOR alot.
If you're a hardcore MMO gamer my guess is that you'll burn through the content really quick and bore yourself.
If you're sick of WoW's end-game, you'll be sick of SWTOR's, it's exactly identical except that WoW has "more" end-game content.
SWTOR is built around replayability, like most BioWare games. Since a new archetype/factions will give you a new story, depending on which you choose you'll either feel like they are bland or really awesome. If you can't immerse yourself in RPG's SWTOR is only better than WoW then in personal taste, wether you like sci-fi or high fantasy.
I got sidetracked... I hope BioWare proves me wrong though, that they will branch of in some unique innovative path for their end-game, doubt it can be possible since SWTOR is more or less a WoW clone.
With all that being said. I will probably be playing Diablo 3 six months from now.
Will be back playing Eve Online again because its not been able to hold my attention for the love of true pvp.
I'de rather play space invaders then the state EVE is in now. The old EVE was better. It's easymode now. CPP have ruined it for any hard core players. Welcome to casual gaming!!
Comments
I don't think I will be playing for that long, i might play for a month or two to give the endgame a chance, but then I will probably quit.
Though I'm not even sure that I will buy the game, the new WoW patch was too good for me to just quit and play Swtor. The beta was so boring
I always do.

lol Good luck with that. Neither of those games look that great.
