The thing that sux with mmo's is that you must group with people that are not your friends from time to time or maybe most of the time, it sux.
Hello? Excuse me but isn't that the entire reason we play MMO's? If I could not group with people I would not even bother. That's why most new MMO's these days suck is because people hate on each other and want to play solo the whole time. How lame is that? What is wrong with all these people hating on thier fellow man?
There's a difference between playing with people you know and people you meet randomly. That's the point.
Random PUGs tend to suck in these games. Some of us would rather get together with a group of like-minded players that we know and have played with before (i.e., a guild) instead of just hitting the LFG flag and hoping that someone will come along who is social, or who isn't a total jackass. I've honestly had more fun in the last three days of early access now that my guildmates are playing than I did in beta where I had to rely on random PUGs to do any of the heroic content or flashpoints.
Yea that was one turn off durring my beta experience

Oh, don't get me wrong. I loved the beta and had a blast playing. I just hated having to rely on people I didn't know for heroic content and flashpoints. Finding random PUGs is a pain the ass.
Now that my RL friends and guildmates are playing, it's way more fun. I'm even diving headfirst into crafting, which rarely happens for me in an MMO. These games are just much more fun with my friends, you know?
It is VERY sad, especially given how good the stories are. I haven't experienced that, but I saw how people already rush through the games, and I feel VERY unwell with that. So I stick to myself or the few people I know.

I can see this happening with impatient players but this has not happened to me yet personally. I have so far grouped with random strangers for 1 third of Ord mantell and Curoscant questing and no one has boot me yet. Usually we chat during the cutscene and commentate on what is being said.
Look who posted the trhread is all i got to say. Im sorry but almost every teala post has bashed tor. so look at the source. The fact is they didnt even realize u get light side points no matter u win or lose
Im leveling some with my gf , and i lvoe watching scenes even when she wins for the responese her smuggler gives vs my tooper.
my friend stopped playing SW:ToR until after launch because he was tired of getting booted from groups. He did beta, but he is going with a new class so he gets a fresh start. He is getting kicked from groups because he is not going through the group dialogue choices fast enough! He said because he is watching the cutscenes play out and it is taking longer than the others people get upset and are kicking him from the group. How sad is that?
He is also upset that he is getting screwed on lightside points due to never winning rolls. That is another thing that is making him upset and the reason he is going to wait until after launch when he has more friends that he can play with that will take their time and not rush through the game or strip him of a chance to become attuned to the lightside.
I am going to guess you have never played and wonder whether your friend is playing either.
I will tackle the Dark/light side point issue first. You get the points for your choice not the person that won the roll regardless of how it turns out. So if you choose darkside and the entire rest of the group chooses lightside, you still get the darkside points.
I have been playing since beta and now since day one, hour one of pre-launch and I have never once got booted from a group for not choosing fast enough, nor have I seen anyone else get booted for it.
The only solution is to keep grouping with people and friend those who are likeminded. Over time you will get a good base of players who like to play like you and it wont be a problem. Waiting for RL friends also works.
to be honest i want to get this game really do BUT im not goin gto rush to get it or drop everythign to get it....xmas is here no time to buy it just hope i get it for x mas and if i dont then maybe next month...though i might just put it all off and stick it out till Diablo 3...atleast that is free to play.
Also is taht acommon issue with this game? ppl scipping cut scense in a grp? cuz if it is im out they lost my money cuaz i want to ENJOY the game not fly through it....just like ppl in the diablo 3 beta...

I highly doubt your "friend" was getting booted form groups for watching the dialogue. More than likely he was either: 1) exaggerating, 2) behaving badly or 3) a bad player. Judging from your "friends" complete misunderstanding how light/dark side gains are handled in groups, I'm going to go with option 3. Bad player, meaning the problem lies between your "friend's" chair and keyboard.

So the complaint is the game is cool but the people suck ....amiright?
My advice would be to not play any online games then.
That will be a $95.00 one time initial consultation fee to btw.
Just did a group run with my guildies who some are my RL friends.
At the end of the 'instance' (flashpoint), the quest giver is like 'here is your reward'.
I, RPing the up-standing paragon Female Shepard from Mass Effect (Female Trooper, same VA) say 'No reward' needed and I WIN the roll!
I screw 3 other guildies out of credits but I don't care cause I'm rolling on the floor laughing!
Wha'ts up?! ^_^

You didn't screw anyone else out of credits. You just won the dialogue roll.
