You do understand that 30 is now 0, so 80 is now around 6 or 5?
Jesus fucking christ. statistical analysis tools 101.
If the game wouldn't play at all, for anybody it would be a 0. I know the game functions at least to an extent that anything less then a 30 is just a person that can't give an honest unbiased score.
Common sense 101
Yeah exactly. I don't care how much anyone hates the game...it doesn't deserve < 30%. No way.
The please remove 90-100 scores too because calling any game perfect is ludicrous.
Aaaand we are back at the same scale as before except the 30-80 is now 0-100.
All you are doing is moving the 0 or 100 point up and down.
Its like saying oh this game doesn't deserve to be rated 1/5 stars, so lets remove that 1 star rating, so its now instead of:
5/5
its 4/5
which actually is 4/4
congratulations, you achieved nothing. 1/4 is still shit, and 4/4 is still perfect.
You asked us to rate the game, then you won't allow us to use the range you put up yourself. You included 0 as a possible score in the line I quoted, then deny us to go below 31. And now you post a list of why it shouldn't be rated below 30.
You are arguing against your own question.
I guess the reason that I eliminated the 0 to 30 range is because I knew there was people who felt that they had a valid opinion, but don't have enough clarity to evaluate something for what it is. Some people don't have the mental capacity to understand that a 0 rating means the game does not function. However, I don't really care what those people think, because those people aren't really contributing members of society. Those people tend to be so self absorbed that they don't actually have a functioning perspective of reality, instead they just rant and rave about how unhappy they are, while fooling themselves into thinking that someone else actually cares. I think this was a great way to eliminate them from the poll.

Have you ever read a game reveiw before where they give a rating based out of 100? If it's under 70, it's shit. Frankly, I don't bother with a game unless it's at least an 80. So the rest of the scale is simply to show how much it falls into the "shit" scale. And you might also notice that there is no "perfect" score. 91-100 is just pretty damn good. You can't actually vote 100, but you can post about it in the thread. You can also post that you thought it deserved a less then 30 score.
All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.
I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.
I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.
So currently, with 216 actual votes, the current poll suggests an average rating of about 70.4
As some feel, this poll is horrendously skewed because of not having the full spectrum of vote options available, even though I still count the range. I hereby resign my post in statistical analysis.

I gave it a 7.5 on my review in this board. Allowing room for improvement with a few common bugs that are very noticeable, and future content/missing graphical options such as Anti Aliasing. Also, the uncertainty of lasting appeal factored in.
Out of 0 to 100, what overall score would you give SWTOR.
30 or lower isn't where I would put my vote, but since you asked for 0-100, it's silly to put 31 at lowest possible vote.
I'm amazed at the responses by people wanting a lower score then 30. This is my logic.
Can you install the game? Yes
Can you connect to the server? Yes
Can you log in? Yes
Can you make a character? Yes
Can you enter the game world and kill something? Yes
Those factors alone equate a score of at least 30. The game is running so if you want to give the game a lower then 30 score, you're just being overly bias. Sorry my poll didn't include your sentiment. Luckily enough, this isn't an official poll.
You asked us to rate the game, then you won't allow us to use the range you put up yourself. You included 0 as a possible score in the line I quoted, then deny us to go below 31. And now you post a list of why it shouldn't be rated below 30.

The thing is, if you are rating below or above a certain point, and especially if showing willingful ignorance of mechanical merits that should automatically make the base score higher, it's no longer an attempt at a "review".
It's an attempt to showboat an opinion that has nothing to do with reality and it only factors in preferential feelinings. That is not the point of a review at all. A review is supposed to be as objective as "possible". If the entire thing is personal bias, then it's not a real review.
OP left out the 0% range because 0% isn't a game at all, it's a person attempting to put a broken disk into their broken CD drive, and then complaining about it, and this is something only trolls and relativistic idiots would vote for. OP is doing a favor here.
I gave it a 91-100. I did so because it is the best MMO on the market therefore it deserves higher marks. People posting 30's are just doing so to stir things up. G4 gave it 5/5 and wrote a really nice article that I agree with 100%. After max level WoW is a grindfest and GW2 will disappoint a lot of people just like all MMO's do.
So currently, with 216 actual votes, the current poll suggests an average rating of about 70.4

At least you've got a sane stdev (unlike metacritic's 0 or 10 binary voting).
But it's still, you know, a self-selected poll on a special interest message board--so everything about it is suspect as "analysis". At best it's a thumbnail/ballpark thang.
I'm ok with that, it's not Srs Bznz.
Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
I voted 61 - 70 cause I feel this game deserves a 70. It's a basic themepark MMO which gives it a C rating IMO. Adding voice acting would give it a few extra points but they are removed cause it lacks common features found in normal MMOs now a days. People who give this game a perfect score or anything over 90 is not giving a real opinion of it based on an MMO. They are only basing it on the VOs which is not a feature that will help it's life span.

That's pretty close to how I'd rate the game based on the last beta weekend. Better than a straight up 5 because of the voice acting, story, and to a lesser extent, companion characters, but not a game I want to spend months, much less years, playing. I also got very annoyed at the smuggler mission to get her ship, but I have to put that aside because it might have been much less annoying if I hadn't known how little time I had to play.
I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.

And, how can you say a game deserves at least 30, just because it works? There are plenty of games I would NEVER give 30 of 100, even though they work as intended (NOT talking about SWTOR here). The worst part here is that you try to restrict others' opinions, and that's why this poll can't be taken seriously at all. If someone think this game is garbage, they must be allowed to think so. I've already said I wouldn't rate it below 30, but for me it's perfectly fine if others will.
And as Adam says, if you remove the bottom range, then you should remove the top too. Because (imo) a perfect game doesn't exist.
