If thats your opinion, then i fear the MMO genre has nothing more to offer you right now. So maybe you should take a break from MMO's and MMORPG.com and go do other things that you do love. Its what i did after 10 years of MMO's and after almost a year i can see again what made MMO's such great games.

I agree i don't even know why this guy is in the swtor boards lol. he don't like the game but he loves to post here lol just look at his posting history. Very sad indeed....

Edit: Also funny thing is he doesn't even own the game but he sure loves to ciricize it haha. He never even played it. inb4lieaboutibetatesteditformonths. rofl.

3 beta weekends. Once from BioWare Social site, once from this website and the third time because I had been in the other test. I missed a test in November as well which would have put me at 4.

I'm no stranger to this genre; it's not hard to judge a cookie cutter MMO by not playing it.

Lol you are a sad person indeed hahaha. Its allright bro its allright hahahaha. Go ahead mod me hah if i hurt your feelings lol.

What does feelings have to do with it? You don't make me feel bad; you just make yourself look bad.

Also you don't own the game lol. You never played a character to max level and never saw end game, so your "criticism" have no value lol. Go buy it, play it to 50, do some end game and they you can post critism. And for a guy who don't own the game you sure love to post on its forums rofl. I am convinced you actually play the game and love it lol.

Please point out where I "complained about what everyone is doing". This is the original post in case you forgot:

"   The game is decent as a free to play type game. But it is not an mmo its more of a single player RPG with some chat thrown in. Who is actually willing (Be honest) to pay $15 dollars  a month for a game not worth one penny???

I responded saying I wouldn't. If I made a thread about how the game sucked, I could see your point. I simply answered the OP.

As I have stated, I don't need to play till 50 to find out if the game is worth playing. I am familiar with how these MMOs work. RIFT was the last time I fell for it.

I understand if others need to go through the motions until it may or may not hit them to stick with a game.

Also, this forum is possibly the most busiest. I have made plenty of other threads in other sections of this site. Not my fault if SWTOR gets the most traffic :)

Also, not all my SWTOR posts have been negative, or critical. Since you took the effort to go through my post history, I suggest you read the whole thing to see it.

    Hey guys. It's me.

I didn't read anyones posts because I really don't care about any of your opinions, but here is mine after years of playing MMORPGs.

I racked up a total played time of 1 day and 10 hours in the past few days, and I must say this game really feels like it's missing something for an MMO and RPG. I have really been trying to put my finger on it but I just can't, so I will list what I believe just doesn't feel right in the game.

First of all even though most of the world isn't instanced it feels like I am playing the star wars version of guild wars. You might laugh at this, but it feels nothing like what EQ and UO did when I started playing them. Everything is way too "tracked" and "linear" - I understand it goes with the story, but that isn't a selling point for me.

The gameplay feels very clunky. I am not talking bug wise, I mean just the "flow" of combat and the game in general. It just doesn't feel right...it almost reminds me of FFIV. Even after messing with most of the settings the targeting system makes me cringe and I find it hard to find which mob I am targeting when they are in large groups (PVP as well).

The crafting...dear god... where to start? I hate being pigeonholed into a few certain fields and being limited on what I can gather or create in a certain amount of time, not to mention increasing in time later on. Why can't my gathering/creating be based upon a community of friends that I have built? (much like in SWG where you would have friends with extractors and the guys who actually crafted with no limit but the people themselves and what they could get their hands on).

PVP. Because having a character with 1 talent point play with characters that have full trees and experience playing the game is smart. My first 10 Warzones were complete massacres. No one on the team worked together despite every effort. I have won 1 the whole time I have played, and I am tired of playing huttball.

The UI. I hate it. Why can I not modify each individual element to my liking? Why is my companions bar locked? granted this will probably be addressed later it is a nuisance right now.

The community. I can't stand half the kids playing this game. I rarely run into someone who is mature. I just got a headache typing about this, you can see for yourself if you play.

The Global Trade Network (whatever the name is of the broker/auction house system). The search function it uses is garbage, I have constantly ran into problems with it and hate getting forced to make choices of item type when I just want to search a name I know already.

Being overseas also made purchasing the game a real pain in the ass, and EAs Origin system is garbage. I had the worst time ever getting the digital copy online. All of the FAQs to find the product key on EAs website were out of date and when I finally bypassed the regional block I had to wait 5 hours for the key to get to my inbox.

I am not going to mention any of the obvious bugs like disconnecting while changing zone instance or players getting stuck because it is so new.

The only things I really liked about this game are: The jawa companion bounty hunter gets, the modding system for items, and star wars.

In all this game was an extreme letdown for me. Like other players I was expecting an SWG 2 type game, but this is not even close and I know I shouldn't have had my expectations so high.

    tl;dr

Gentlemen-- look no further this is the future of MMORPGs, and it makes me sad.

    Im enjoying it.........

    ...........as a RPG

Its a really great RPG up there with Skyrim, Morrowind,  KOTOR1 and ME1, better than Biowares recent RPG efforts such as the Dragon Ages and ME2.

However I think its lacking in the MMO department, I can't see my self enjoying "endgame", but I will play for a few months, level a few toons see the story, then we have things like GW2 & TSW coming out which should be less single player focused and stronger in the PVP department.

So Its a really good game, but an average MMO.  For the style of game it is, I still prefer it to WOW and RIFT.

With all of the same ole' fantasy crap being churned out - I'll be with SWTOR for the long haul. I LOVE this game and believe that Bioware will be adding tons of new content in the future.

As far as the MMO and PVP dept goes - I'm still at a loss to understand what people are talking about. If you're talking about the instancing and not having 400 people in a small area spamming buffs - you can have that! SWTOR is first and foremost a PVE game but I do think the PVP end of it will pick up as more people reach 50.

Currently playing SWTOR and it's MUCH better than it was at launch.

Some of you guys need to stop with the trollin'.

Anyway, I expect to enjoy it to an extent, but what I'm most concerned about is the VO's and forced story.  I couldn't even finish DAO because there was so much dialog I felt compelled to listen to, that I didn't feel like I was playing a game anymore, and having grown up in an era where story was secondary to actual combat and action and meaty gameplay, I want to know if having the game devs pretty much play the game for me is as annoying as it looks.. though really, the only person who can confirm or deny this is myself.  Just thinking out loud I guess.

Yeah, there is a difference between being a spell nazi and not understanding what someone writes due to poor language skills and extremely bad spelling.

English is my second lanuage, I spell wrong at times and no one on this forum have ever complained, because I try to make sense.

If you have such poor language skills that people have hard understanding you I recommend you to use a spellchecker, it is a basic and simple thing that solves the problem, some browsers have a built in one.

I don't care is someone spells a little wrong at times, but when it gets too much it get really hard to read. If the rest of us can make the effort so can you guys as well.

More like a single player rpg with a chat thrown in??  Are you kidding?  I've grouped with more people and have had more open world pvp encounters in TOR than I have had in any recent P2P or F2P "mmos".  The game is actually designed around player encounters, which is probably confusing for you since you haven't played an mmo with this structure yet.

And I'm at a loss to understand what game you're referring to, since I don't think I've played an DAOC type game yet.  I'm looking forward to GW2's pvp where there will be over 650 people in a massive zone completing objectives and forming alliances and not being pigeonholed into an "arena" for their sole pvp options.
