Based on the design of the game... some people love it and some hate it.

It's casual friendly with a lot of content from the start.

IMHO, this game will never see less thatn 500,000 subscribers in the next 2-3 years.  Bioware has said that it's all that it needs to maintain a profit.  If that's the case, than this game will see content additions from here on out.

People can move on to the next "best" thing, but the way the game is designed, it wil take me months and months to finish the story content on EACH SIDE (16 unique stories/companions).

This game can be played as a single player RPG or a MMORPG depending on what you do most.  You can level to 50 by just doing Heroic Quests and Flashpoints.  You can level to 50 by doing PVP all day.  You can level to 50 by questing.

Heck there are so many quests that I've had to skip entire planets (other than class quests) in order to make the content compelling.  I'm saving the planets I skipped to use on Alts so that the ride to 50 is as unique the second time as it is the first.  But, there's so much class content and unique companion quests that even if your're an altaholic... the road traveled will never be the same.

This game has immense replay value and for someone like me, with a hectic schedule....i can play at my own pace and never feel left behind.

PS - the Concept of Legacy is a win win if they implement it right.  If there are compelling rewards for playing multiple classes on the same server, you will always see plenty of people across all levels doing the content.  It won't be like other games where each expansion makes the previous zones obsolete.

    Agreed.

You can never win. Fix one problem people will complain about the solution.

Don't fix the problem, people will complain about the problem and suggest the same solution that would have fixed it... then when it is implemented they'll complain about the fix.

    Can't win.

The average person is far, far too stupid.

I don't get how adding two more questions "fixes" anything. It just increases the chance that you will forget one of them, especially when the one I forgot was "What is your favorite activity?"

"Well you should've wrote them down"

Yeah well I didn't think it was going to be the end of the world if I entered in the wrong answer 3 times, I guessed it right eventually and can log into the game, just not the website.

Less then a month in and already xpac talk. You know they will milk people by putting out a string of xpacs and people will fall for it.

SO if someone plays 2 games alternately that means one of them must suck?

Because clearly if someone is playing an MMO and another game at the same time, that means the game is bad, right?

The haters on this site are absolutely hilarious.

You are not allowed to enjoy multiple games at once. First rule of fight club.

Yes becuase you can only play/like/afford one game at a time right?  Absurd arguement/issue really.

What he means is that if you're not addicted to the game... than it doesn't justify the monthly sub.

You do realize that they (Bioware) probably have enough content shelved for the 1st two xpac's right?

Just a smart marketing/project management guess.

That is why i wish i never left EQ, you may have only gotten half a level or if it was a good hunting spot a full level, but you felt like you accomplished something and since it was group based you socialized for the entire time you killed stuff. Nowadays it is all about insta gratification, who can get to the end fastest, and solo play unless you want to raid.

Yes indeed the game is far to easy.

And reaching level 50 in only 10 days show this very clearly.

No..sandbox games still milk you along...it's just that they usually do it with a dry tit.....and give you the illusion that your the one lactating.

Don't get me wrong..I love a good sandbox game from time to time. A GOOD sandbox game.

The thread is about people leaving because of content. Which I'm talking about so get off your high horse and realize there's better games out there. Also most, if not all sandbox games do free content releases (eve to be one).

Believe you mean thats how "Bad games" work.

Technically to be fair, thats how themeparks work.

I'll take a good sandbox that doesnt require constant dev input over a themepark ride that gets boring the day after the content patch any day.

You might see a good sandbox before you die.  Sadly the people who want sandbox games don't realize that most of their criteria is out dated and stale.  It's rather funny when they ask in forums "What has your game done that's innovative?"  when all they want is a new UO  (which I'll be mean and say was only successful because it had little if any competiition).....

What would you say about EvE online? They are the ONLY MMO created in 2003 thats still growing...

8-10 hours of an mmo, plus 8-10 hours of skyrim... The human body says how much one can play.

So people "blazed through" the existing content in less than a month, content which took them 4-5 years to develop at a cost of around $100m? Gosh, I would love to see how they are going to keep people with a small patch which took them 1-2 months to develop.

Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.

? Nowhere did I see that he's playing 8-10 hours of an mmo daily, that was your own guess. Unless you meant 8-10 hours a week? That wouldn't be that much.

What will you do when they all leave? Play frisbee with your NPC companion rather than ultimate frisbee hutball? Take seperate Xwings to the party, make lots of credits with nothing to spend it on, help NPC Jawas and show off your rainbow lightsabers to no one?  I'm not hatin, I'm just curious and hungry for a good game. ~V~

You miss the part about MMO's being a gaming community, I spend more time running around helping guildmates then I do worrying about my toons.

You might get more out of the game(s) worrying about and assisting others than your own me me gratification.

Wasn't trying to speak strictly from my own desires.. I tried to cover the fab 4 player types that MMO's cater to:

Diamonds: look for loot to hoard or spend

Spades: explore the furthest corners and look for every bug

Hearts: help the guildie or noob

    Clubs: RAWR

    http://www.mud.co.uk/richard/hcds.htm

I actually enjoy the MMO aspect of assisting those in need of help or those new to the game.  It is a primary draw for me in MMOs to be able to help another person on some quest for tic tacs or epic loots.  Tho I find that I would like to develop longer term relations with the people I play MMO's with so I'm hesitant to start into SW and build a relationship with people when I'm quite sure I won't be sticking around for the long term.  You might find some players to hop from MMO to the next with you but this goes until your group is spread among many they like...or I hope to find the one that might hold mine and many more's interest extending past a few months. ~V~

I dunno, you can blaze all the way to level cap within the month in almost all MMO's, yet that doesn't prevent people from playing MMO's like WoW, LotrO, Rift, Aion etc even after they reached level cap and still have fun for many months afterwards.
