I can feel your anger. This game is defenseless. Take your weapon. Strike this game down with all of your hatred, and your journey towards towards the Dark Side will be complete.
I'll be renewing. The game is decent. Nothing great but nothing terrible either. For me it is a nice change of pace for now and gives me a break from my other mmos. Not sure I will be a long term player but they at least will have me around for another month.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

Their goal was to retain 17% of box sales as subs. I think they will meet that goal easily.
makes me kind of sad to think that would be their goal.
if it were my game, i'd be wanting a somewhat higher benchmark.
I'm still trying to find where he pulled that number from.
The only place I can even think of where he got that was from EA reports of 550k subs being their profit minimum. However, that was based on 3.5-4 million boxed sales.
As for the poll, yeah, every sample has it skews. After all, this is a SWTOR thread right? That alone skews it one way or another. Just like metacritic's user ratings. But as someone who likes to tinker with numbers said to me, throw out all the haters/lovers (zeros and Tens) and the user score actually drops below 6.
Samples are a wonderful thing, they can even be very predicitve. It's only the people who throw out one sample and keep another because it suits their beliefs are the one's who use them wrong.
TOR fans act like some of us have a vendetta. It really is not that, but more to do with the fact when I personally played the game after playing Rift for so long I seriously expected more. These guys can not sit on the excuse of ui is hard to make, or content takes a extremely long time to develop.
Trion has just simply proven alot of what devs are saying latey is just lying. Rift might not have that big feeling or alts that are fun to roll, but they are pretty good at fixing problems. I mean seriously here guys the ILUM exploits are still happening. It is Aion all over again where NCSoft took months to fix the problem.
Just stuff like them promising dual spec, but they can not even cap the respec cost until it is put in just heavily penalizes people for wanting to try new builds. This will only lead to people being forced into cookie cutters because they are too broke to try their own build. This is the scariest impact of this game because people just seem to be just fine with a mmorpg company removing choice in how you want to play.

Everyone being the jack of all trades has never ever been a good idea and no game that currentlly allows it is harboring an enormous playerbase. As for your vendetta claim #2 is what many people dislike this game fall into the trait of. Bioware to my knowledge never promised dual AC(Advanced Classes) , that was a fan request... and it was shot down. Why would you even want dual AC's? you can barely go 31 points one tree and 10 another now. Theres really no point until theres 70-80 levels. As for ingame finances... people are broke because they go out of their way trying to skip as much of the game as possible. I literally struggle to stay under 1 million credits. You make hundreds of thousands completing all the quests on upper level planets and killing a few mobs along the way to the quests. Or even gathering and selling the mats... or crafting and selling what you craft. If anything this game as shoddy when it comes to how inflated the economy is... where everyone can be rich.
Everything I say is my opinion or personal preference. You may or may not find it useful to your cause but regardless I am entitled to it.
this poll will be usless data which does not reflect all the players. It is simple to spam the pole to the answer you want it too.
You can not spam a poll, as every account only has one vote, and multiple accounts are not allowed.
Well you have to agree some will vote no just out of hate even though they never bought the game.
the whole idea that someone hates a game is ridicilous.....it is something forum posters on this site have invented, if there should be someone who hates a game they would be a really really low number and that wouldnt affect this poll, now even without the idea of hate, someone small minded could possibly get the idea to click the no button just to push the idea they never subscribed in the first place
resubbing for 4 months till The Secret World.....i wish I could split myself like Jamie Maddrox..that way I can work/sleep/Play Rift / Play SWTOR/ Play EQ2 / Play TSW / Play WoT / Finish Skyrim/ Finish School...hmm i need 9 of me and 6 computer...

You have some of these diehards in every game. Regardless what is missing, subpar, or simply bugged to shit they will defend it no matter the cause or effect it has on players. Even if the discussion is over something that players can only benefit from or won't effect them in the least if they weren't to use the feature or issue being discussed they will still dismiss it and downplay the addition, concept, or discussion.
Never fails. Frankly they do more harm than good to these games which is ironic because in their minds their the "number one fan".

As with alot of people,i'm only playing till something new comes out, been looking forward to TSW for ages now.
Not to derail the thread, but I suspect SWTOR and Rift will see very little loss of users when GW2 is released, no matter how well it does. But when TSW is released, that is when the damage to those games will be seen.

They already said they are going to be adding dual specialization to the game.
Why would you want it? Are you kidding? To have a build for PvE and PvP for one. To offer some flexibility between offering different choices you can bring to the table group wise pending on what is needed for another.
Anyways, the issue has always been dual spec in the same AC and has never been about dual ACs so not sure where that is coming from.
I will say the dual spec reference is a more recent development so not sure it is fair to say they promised something and didn't deliver. Although really should have been in there from the beginning least in my opinion.
EDIT: Sorry OP not trying to derail the thread. Look at the bright side...free bumpages for j00!

I once thought the same about WoW...gold seemed, to me, to be raining from the sky, requiring very little effort or native talent to catch.
But they brought in the Daily Welfare Quests anyway; apparently a great segment of the playing populace is downright terrible at generating wealth in MMOs, and some food stamps were required.
I'm certainly no Warren Buffet, just a guy who's played MMOs once or twice before. It isn't hard to learn the basics of raising funds in MMOs--but a great many people don't seem to have much interest in applying themselves. As we move later into the "just buy what you need with $RL" generation, I expect the situation to grow even more one-sided.
Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
I'm getting allot of enjoyment from playing this game and down the road it's were I'll go to get kotor fixes, atm i vote yes I'll be subbing for another month, the month after that?
The game is great. I'm having fun and look forward to creating alts and experiencing their story. I'm having fun leveling. I like what Bioware has done so far and since they are hard at work creating a better experience for all, I will support them with my sub.
Bioware has a history with me of creating immersive games from KOTOR I and II, Mass Effect I and II, and I anticipate great things to come. I think for their freshman debut of an MMO, they did a bang up job.
As I recall Blizzard didn't come out the gate shooting millions of subs when they made the transition from RTS to MMO. It took them time and growing pains. Bioware is in a great position to do the same. I'm all in for Bioware to succeed.
TOR is a fun game.....pity folks cant either enjoy it, or get on with their lives.
Oh we'll get on with our lives when people stop claiming it's so fantastic that it cures cancers all across the world Especially review websites, magazines and shows. It's immoral and it's a money grab. That's why I'm on here speaking my mind, what are you here for?
{mod edit}
that's okay if i can prevent some poor sap from wasting his money on this game i know i'll be able to sleep tonight. pity folks can't get on with their lives and let us help others.
The games lots of fun resubbing. The haters hate is funny though.
I have to agree OP, this poll will be littered with faulty data because people who have no intention on subscribing to the game will vote...
OTOH, most people who quit a game, aren't going to hang around in forums, voting on polls about it.
Most of those playing and having fun with the game won't be hanging around the forums posting , but the haters well thats what they live for and they rteally can't stand to see anyone like something they don't
I haven't bought the game, but I did buy a laptop recently. If I feel in the mood and after i finish The Witcher 2 and Skyrim Ill get it but mostly to play it like an RPG.
I have to agree OP, this poll will be littered with faulty data because...
...It's an online poll, and they generally all carry the same inherent flaws?

I'm at work and since I cant play a game i hang around the forums. I'm not saying im playing SW:TOR, I don't and I didnt vote for yes or no because no matter if i hate some concepts of the game it has nothing to do with me re subbing or not. Since I never played the game I keep myself from posting hate or love threads because I havent experienced the game myself.
I'm sort of tired to see everyone that defends or bashes the game labeled as fanboys or haters, sure there are extremes on both sides but not everyone dislikes everything about a game or loves everything about it.
I'm not planning to stay past the first 30 days. I do plan to return at some point though. If it was subscription free I'd probably log in every few days and level alts. There's a possibility I may subscribe just to do that until GW2 or D3 release. TSW is also getting on my radar or I may try STO now that it is going F2P.
ToR gets 90 days. After that, it's up in the air. Within 90 days, you can see the direction games are taking. We've already seen some fairly serious bugs. Some chatter that Bioware completely nerfed the graphics. But at the same time, we see that Bioware is taking a proactive stance on content and patching. 90 days is my fair meter. I give it to almost any MMO at launch. But I'm also acutely aware of other games coming out on the market and may be drawn away from it.
I plan to alternate between ToR and Rift on bi-monthly basis . I enjoy both of them a lot in different ways . Given theres two games out there I like I can say for certain I won't ever be tempted back to WoW now . Given the games selling very well still I doubt we'll see much of a drop off in month two if any .

3 month sub!
