I posted this in the other thread about this topic, but I might as well post it here:
Why would people who have decided to unsub care about something like a title in a game they wouldn't be playing next month anyway? Unless they're people that like to make a fuss about anything? >.>
The title is nothing special or extraordinary but nice for those people who'll still be playing the game, the title has absolutely no value to people who won't be playing the game anyway, so why they should even feel bothered about it like some seem to do is beyond me.
Why are you bothered that other people are bothered about the way a game title is distributed? A case of black pots and kettles I think.

I think it's a perfectly valid question. If you're not going to play the game, why do you care about not getting a title on a character that you're not going to play? What is the actual reason? Not saying that people who don't sub don't deserve it, but why do they think it's some sort of rip off?
As far as why, what would be the point in Bioware giving titles to people who aren't playing? The point is for other people to see the titles. People who aren't going to play aren't going to be showing their titles off.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

Hey hey. Ofc they have a reason, they always have a reason. The only problem is that some people dont agree with this reason. They simply dont accept their reward and dont recognize it as a reward but rather as a bribe to stay subbed.
edit: changed most people to some people for ahem ... security reasons

The answer to that is simple. SWTOR hurt so many peoples feelings they are digging at everything they can, to throw at Bioware.
No issue is too small. Every single naysayer here has a bone of contention because Bioware didn't make the game exactly how they wanted it to be. The issue itself Is not important here. it's a means to an end
And they wonder why nobody takes them serious, which again fuels their rage even more

Well, you can't say it's not an incentive for people to re-sub past the first month... = money grab.
It is a freaking title. Seriously, who is sitting at home right now having a nervous break down.
"I don't want to resub, but I want this title..." pop a zanex, drink some beers... "I'm so confused, I didn't like this game bc its not a sandbox, I think its shallow blah blah blah, but I want that title... ugh" "Ok, I'll resub... that way everyone will be able to see my title while I log in to the fleet stand around and bitch about a game I don't wanna play in the first place but had to have a title for."
If you plan on playing and subing you get the title. If you are quiting and not subing why do you care if there is a title involved?
Bioware is sitting down behind their desk, our evil plan is coming to fruition. All these people are going to continue to sub for a title HA ha HA ha HA.
If you continue to play this game for the title don't point the finger at bioware point it at yourself.
This is not directed at you just more in response to money grab comment and anyone who is actually going to try and do it them complain about it.
I've already canceled and no I'm not sub'in back up for a title, i never use titles anyway. So do i care, no, but... you can't deny this is on the slimy side.
I'll use my situation as an example. I was here at the same time as everyone else, and because i decided not to play for a few months i don't get one? I bought the game just like you, i was here in the first month just like you, but i decided to come back in a few months so i don't get one? As I've already said countless times before i love the game and i will be back, but because I'm not going to give them $15, i don't get one.
So in reality i am a founder too but have nothing to show for it because i decided not to sub for a few months. Maybe in a few months I'll come back and play for 2 years where you have burned out in the months i was gone and never come back.
I think the sad thing here is this shows a complete lack of confidence in their product. Are they noticing large cancellations and dreamed this up, i don't know, if your celebrating you don't charge people, it's no longer a gift of celebration then.
I'm not sure how anyone can look upon this as fair? If one can't understand why this isn't proper then you are the type of customer EA loves.

I cancelled because the company wouldn't listen to me and thousands of other players who wanted at least some promise that if we stayed a great world class realm vs realm, 24/7 persistent world conflict feature would be put into the game. They chose not to even say they would at some time in the future.....so my $15/month was taken away from them.Perhaps GW2,Dominus,Secret World,ArcheAge will get it.Not Bioware.
Companys say they want to hear what players want. The reality is...most don't.
I just couldnt justify paying 15$ more for a dumbed down console rpg called an epic mmo. I can play some older SW's games on the PS or PC and not pay a monthly fee. This game in my opinion is no true mmo, just a single player game thats no better than a console rpg.
Cant believe they got rid of SWG for this junk. Atleast SWG even with its flaws was a much better, more in dpeth, and a real mmo. Sorry to those TOR fans, but think everyone lost sight what a mmo is and should be.
As a 'thank you' to everyone who helped make Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ one of the most successful MMO launches in history, we are rewarding early members of The Old Republic with a unique Founder's Medal and "Founder" Title!
Have a guess how you qualify for this title: "Billed at least once for an active Star Wars: The Old Republic subscription".
Yup. It was not good enough that I preordered and bought the game to qualify as a founding member. I have to pay for at least one additional month. What a money grab.
I don't know about you people but this kind of blatant grab for cash makes me fume.
Thank goodness I unsubs from this game before my month was up.
Let me get this straight. You are crying because you never got a title in a game that you no longer play and have no intention of playing?
The point isn't that people are upset that they won't get a title. People are aghast that EA/Bioware is trying to bribe people to sub with a badly named title.
The inference is that they have no confidence in their own game.
I think most of us without rose-colored glasses can see why.

agree
A month after SW:TOR's launch I sadly have to agree too!
Even SWG NGE was better than this! The original crafting was still mostly intact. Plus SWG actually had a full blown Space that was unaffected by the NGE!

I'll give you a title ..
Title will just show you were willing to pay for beta testing so nothing to worry about if you intend to return in a few months if they fix the game.
u mad brah?
