GW2 is easily the most promising game in years because its pretty much the only AAA game that is changing up the themepark wow-clone formula. Anet is one of very few credible developers who realize that people don't want to play the same reskinned game for eternity.
Its also the only choice for people who like competitive or daoc 3 realm pvp.
Planetside 2 is number two for me. I would say PS1 was the best mmo type game I have played over the past 10 years because it was the only one that had 0 PVE and PVP that was based on skill and everyone was competitve from lvl 1.
I just worry that $OE will once again make design decisions that turn a good functioning game into an unplayable mess.
Not going to touch The Secret World until it launches and it really convinces me to play it. I will play GW2 at release unless something comes up that changes my mind. I am tired of the half-assed-generic-piece-of-garbage-MMOs that have been released lately. I was hyped about Diablo 3 until the news about RMT. Seems will have tos tick with single player games and wait for "Titan" *sighs*
If the World vs. World vs. World PvP is actually as amazing in GW2 as Anet makes it out to be, that's going to be a big game changer for me.
Focus on DE's I am somewhat worried about them becoming stale with lack of direction or incentive beyond leveling, but I'll reserve judgement till I get a chance to play.
Tera looks amazing. I recently tried BnS aswell, looks amazing. Archeage is a good 2 years off NA launch atleast, so im not even going to try to hype myself up for that yet. Firefall also looks amazing. GW2 i want to see more of before i make my decision.

My concerns are the same about GW2. Cosmetic rewards are not going to cut it. I'll play GW2 with hopes that there will be more to it than it appears for the PvE crowd.
I voted AA due to it being a Sandpark. Basically a themepark with more freedom and a larger open world.
I went with D3 as well for the same reason. I know pretty much what to expect of a hack and slash ORPG made by Blizz. Sadly im pretty sure what to expect from the MMO genre also.
Really? This game sucks and Im not having fun? Im going to unsub right now. Thanks for the tip.
Come on, people, can you say it with me? Look at the goddamn list, all you sandbox fanatics, jaded, tired MMO burnouts, themepark haters and MMO gamers simply looking for something different than what they've been playing for years: 2012 is an awesome year, and 2013 probably too :-)
I can get scepsis, and cynicism and being cautious and all that yahoo, but if you people can't find SOME degree of MMO gaming fun with the variety of interesting quality MMO's that will be out there over the course of this year, then you really, seriously deserve to get your asses kicked.

Yeah, if GW2's WvWvW lives up to what ANet said it will be, then it will be the new example of 3 Faction PvP done right. People will no longer have to search the the archives of DAoC to find it.
As for DE's, there is always that fear of it becoming directionless and repetitive, however even if they eventually become stale, by maybe your 2nd alt, at least it would have provided a more enjoyable experience than the linear questing we are all used to.

Hey I'm going to play GW2 too, but how are TSW, firefall, archeage etc.. WOW clones?

An important part of DAOC community was knowing your enemy. I'm not sure fortnightly battles against 2 groups of random people is the same. I'm looking forward to GW2, but.... more for the PVE, the PVP they are putting me off a bit with refering to WvWvW as "casual PVP", compare to TSW where they call it "end game PVP" or planetside 2 which you know if it's anything like the first will be a huge load of RVR fun. I mean ArenaNet love their e"sports" they invented arena PVP, they're called ArenaNet for christ sake.

Reckoning on Feb 7th and Tera on May 1st. Other games Wildstar, Diablo 3 and Guild Wars 2. The first 2 have actual release dates the others do not.

The Secret World is the next game I'm looking forward to. Like the genre, and the approach they are taking with the game.
I've pretty much lost all interest in TERA and GW2.
WoD is so far away, it doesn't merit interest right now.
Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.
Firmly on the backburner with minimal development happening, is what it is.
We won't be seeing WoD anytime soon, if ever. CCP admits openly it is stretched 'too thin'.

Philosophy of MMO Game Design
Holy ****! That is shocking.
Is funcomm that black listed?
Guild Wars 2 and Firefall. If those two live up to half their promises I'll be a happy bunny.
Guild Wars 2, hands down.
Dominus and Darkfall 2.0
best I can tell secret world will not have any crafting...pass
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

Who cares about crafting if the combat is good, and the world setting is cool. I will definitely check into TSW.
Blade and Soul and TERA aren't innovative for me though..
