I will not play any MMO that doesnt have crafting.

Best I can tell Secret World doesnt have crafting. I dont think GW2 does either.

I find it intresting how people deman more from their MMOs and yet get excited about games with almost no feature list.

I am 100% sure TSW will have crafting. It is probably going to be the focus point of their next beta phase. It was 95% complete on January 5th. It's one of the aspects of TSW they think is important and not something they have tacked on.

I talked to a developer that got so excited and was going to spill it all when he remembered he probably couldn't tell anything about it yet and asked the guy from managment if he could talk about it. The guy from managment said no, and the developer looked really disappointed.  He spilled something about it, mentioning that it had some similarities with the crafting in Minecraft.

I'm actually pretty excited to see how Secret World is. I think as people who truly enjoy MMO/MMORPG that we'll all have different opinions. I think the general crowd who doesn't even know what MMORPG is waiting for Diablo 3. I just believe that Diablo 3 has gained too big of a following. I also think Blizzard has a big part in the fact people will buy Diablo 3. My old roommates only played Diablo2/StarCraft2. I think they didn't go try other games is because Blizzard is such a big name, they feel like they can't go wrong with spending their money with them.

I don't follow hype anymore. It's led me astray way too many times: AO(which got better over time), WoW, GW, Warhammer, AoC.....the MMOs that I have enjoyed the most, I randomly stumbled onto after they were already released. Mostly, I just find a title that sounds like it has awesome potential and cross my fingers. LOL.

GW2 ofc. SWToR wasnt even big thing for me.

Also Archeage, but I guess it will take a long time to reach Europe

Archeage for me. Jake Song mentioned that he wants to pull in both US and Euro audiences. This would be the first time a Korean company wants anything to do with us!

It is almost too good to be true.

Well, Aion was made for worldwide playerbase too

You guys holding your breath for ArcheAge are funny. Isn't it in closed beta in S. Korea still? That means if it even comes to market outside SK it's going to be at least 1-2 years off for any NA/EU release if it even happens at all.

There is surprisingly little 'buzz' around here for The Secret World.

Guessing it's because there isn't all THAT much known about it yet and it is Funcom... personally, I'm proud of Funcom even if they 'fail' commercially... at least the had the guts to try and innovate/try something new and different rather than joining the ranks of flash in the pan, cookie cutter mmo developers.

So, I wish Funcom all the best with TSW and look forward to trying it out.

Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.

BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.

TSW is interesting, but funcom took a really heavy hit on their image after AoC, this is why its low profile

The trouble I am having with this is that I went to their website and couldnt find any information about crafting at all. Now I understand maybe its not complete but that never stops a developer from at least posting their planned feature if it at all a serious one. Did I just miss it on the website?

Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

During development games companies jeep back all sorts of stuff until they think its a good time to release info

Do you think arenaNet only decided to use the mesmer a couple of days before they revealed it?

GW2 with TSW a close second.

The next big thing I hope to see hit MMORPGs is total collapse of the genre.  An equivalent to a Dinosaur-killing Meteor.

"I have only two out of my company and 20 out of some other company. We need support, but it is almost suicide to try to get it here as we are swept by machine gun fire and a constant barrage is on us. I have no one on my left and only a few on my right. I will hold." Would say The Secret World since Guild Wars only has a single payment as with Diablo 3.

  • VegettoVegetto Member Posts: 841

Guild Wars 2 is easily, very easily the next big thing to be released this year.

However, my time is now reserved for more open world games, with Secret World being something i'll try, but will probably be just same stuff - Same destination, but different roads to get there.

It's a shame ArchAge won't see our side this year if at all.

also Darkfall 2.0.  altho i'm pretty skeptical, and i'm braced for it to NOT cut out enough grind before PVP viability.

Darkfall 2.0 could be so great if they tried to be more like Firefall, with very little vertical progression.  and if the new UI is a big improvement.

How dare you put in Diablo 3 and not put in Torchlight 2 or Torchlight MMO!!!

But meh ill bite...  According to how GW2 is described by the site and other info, I think Ill end up liking that the most out of the rest on the list.

Ill prolly play that alongside SWTOR
