Guild banks is coming, rift had no guild banks at launch ether. Swtor launched with 1 raid eternity vault, and it has a 2nd raid operations at patch 1.1 , there are daily you can do for gears, mounts, mods,  swtor launched with 16 flashpoints, with hard modes, and it recently added a new flashpoints with patch 1.1, pvp with pvp gears, high quality warfronts.

i got to laugh at the misinformed, if your going to bash swtor make sure you get it right.

Also you want to talk about exploit there has been only 4 incidents and it was fixed the next day.

Its just a blog. I wouldnt let it bother you.

If its the same one i read, the writter has some good points.  Might have a few things wrong with the statements, but many points are valid. Anyone with an open mind can see this.

    Actually, she was correct.

-The 1 raid and 16 flashpoints were buggy as hell. Mechanics wise, they're all subpar.

-Daily's? That stupid concept needs to go. C'mon now.

-PVP is a joke. Open world is kill trading. No option to select which WZ. Let's not even get into class balance.

Are you sure you've actually bought the game?

I agree,  I think here blog brought up some valid points.  I know its painful for sw fans but sometimes one must look in the mirror and face the truth.

Only 2 raids and 16 dungeons? WoW has way more than that. WoW also has guild banks and arena pvp. TOR has neither.

This game sounds pretty weak. Glad I didn't waste my money it.

Teala's blog brought many of SWTOR's flaws to light. That being said, if anything in her blog is untrue, you did the right thing by bringing it to light as well. I've not personally played SWTOR so i don't know for certain, but i HAVE seen many many posters that agree with what she said, so it seems she did it right.

    Valid points? Maybe. Some.

The big picture is that TOR has some flaws early on. It's true. It's still a lit of fun though, and I'm still having fun despite the negatives.

Overall, most of the negative blog I read are people dumping on TOR because it's not the game they wanted. They don't really judge it on what they were trying to do. What they set out to do I think they did pretty well. As they fix bugs and add more stuff to do the game will really shine.

If we played games because of what they "Were trying to do" Everyone in the world would be playing FF14 right now.

Meh. One thing I will say in Teala's favor is that she at least played the game. I see a ton of people that didn't even play the game trying to pass off their misinformed opinion as fact.

She tried it, didn't like it, wrote about why she didnt like it. Maybe she got a few things wrong, I know I have posted a few things that turned out to be incorrect when posting the opposite viewpoint.

I don't like this kind of targeting of a person for their opinions. I'll be the first to respond to someone if they post something I disagree with, but why single this person put and make a whole new post? You can respond on the blog post that she made.

No offense, but this post is straight up baiting. You're baiting a specific person as well and it's pretty obvious.

I really wish we could keep it more civil around here, on both sides of the argument.

There is a point here in your post I think is interesting.. That is, what was the "intention" of SWTOR design ? I think once everyone see/saw it they can decide, this is for me / not.

That said, it was marketed pretty heavily to the entire MMO space and it certainly lacks some things that many MMORPG veterans expected to be there... and are not.

Good news is the MMO space in its infancy and we are all learning how to judge "is a game for me?" I think many of us, including myself have made assumptions about what MMORPGs are/were and expect deeper gameplay than in the past... yet what we keep getitng is more like "bringing a certain type of gameplay to MMORPGs" and not deeping that original gameplay.

Let me guess; your mail function broke and this is the only way to right the wrong that has been commited against SWTOR?

But seriously, who cares if one person or fifty don't like the game, how is that going to affect your ability to play?

Not that it has any relevance.

So what? the game is still a growing monster, gets better every day and isn't any poorer for the handfull of lonely little haters living in here.

Who are these people trying to convince and better yet why? is it negativity out of an obligation or just hate because SWTOR took subscribers from their games?

Once you distil down the reason for the haters to post on the SWTOR forum, you realize they are just throwing rocks because they are fearfull not everyone will be playing what they want them too.

My point is that I feel they did pretty well with what they intended to do. Is it perfection? No, there are bug and flaws that are being worked on.

My main point is people are pointing out things that are missing in the game when they weren't planning on them being in there in the first place.

WoW has 6 or 7 years under its belt.  When WoW launched there were three raids with no guild banks.  Or dungeon finder. Or PVP queueing.  Or many of the countless other features you all seem to expect from every new MMO.

Wrong.  I agree with your sentiment, but let's be accurate.  There was ONE raid, no PVP gear, no PVP ranks or battlegrounds.  People thought that battlegrounds were going to be vaporware.  When they finally launched, there was moaning about the dishonor system where you could earn negative PVP points.  Then you had to make a massive trek with no flying mount to the battleground entrance, of which there were three, and queue for an hour for that ONE battleground.  If you wanted actual PVP gear, you had to be in the top 10% of honor earners for your server that week, or you got absolutely nothing and all your points reset.  They comped users for about 5 days of time during which the game was unplayable.

People can say what they want about SWTOR, but it has been playable every day from Dec 13th until now, so right there it beats WOW.

I actually find it funny, and kind of sad, that Teala actually has nothing better to do than write blog after blog, hating on a game that they claimed months ago they would never write about again.

Check this blog entry out: http://www.mmorpg.com/blogs/Teala/112011/22265_Star-WarsTOR-My-Impressions-

Teala wrote: This will be the 2nd and last entry I ever make on this game.

So why all the blogs about SW:TOR since then?

    As I said, sad really.

Maybe but SWTOR is not competing with WoW 7 years ago, but with WoW now and my choice is not whatever to play WoW from 7 years ago or SWTOR, but WOW now.

Do not get me wrong I would still pick SWTOR, but it kinda irrelivent with what the compitition launched with. It's about what the compitition has now.
