Actually, Teala plays a wide range of MMOs and has a very solid knowledge of the mechanics of many of them. She's more critical than your average journalist and far more objective than most bloggers - I find that a good thing. I've followed a lot of stuff she's written about Vanguard, EVE Online and other games (she is also an FPS gamer) and I think the last thing i would define her as is a "wow fangirl"
Read her other blogs entries. I think she's got some great stuff there.
I am with you there, I might not always agree with her but her blog is still one of the best here.
And I think OP shouldn´t take it so personal, it is a blog and there you write your opinions on certain matters.
I wonder how many extra hits her blog has gotten since this post was made. :-)
LOL, I went and got caught up on all her blog entries for the past month, even negative publicity can be a good thing.
I didn't see anything incorrect or outrageous, perhaps she whoopsed a fact or two here or there, but sometimes the actual fact of an MMO isn't quite as we percieve them to be.
On more than one occasion I thought I had an understanding of how/why something worked the way it did in a game only to find myself corrected later. It happens.
Teela shares her opinions, never clouds where she's coming from, and while I don't always agree with her (EVE is a favorite MMO for me, but she can't help that she's female, they don't like EVE as a rule) I never think she has written something without thought and care.

I've read her posts. Pursuing the blog seemed futile.
The Moving Finger Writes, And Having Writ, Drones On
Endlessly
Essentially the whole story.
Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
OP, how about this, instead of creating a worthless thread. How about you create your own blog and INFORM people what the game is about. If Teala is misleading people, you should bring the battle to the same field.
I think the start of this thread was about as wrong as a poster can get on these forums (and still be on topic with MMO's).
If somebody is blogging and you don't like it.. don't read their blog. They are obviously posting their opinion somewhere else (not here). So why drag it here? As a few others have said it is a form of estalking. Plus you have now pushed a lot more traffic through a blog (I didn't read it) that it seems according to a few posters.. doesn't even mention the topics you brought up.
As I've said in a post here and there... even if I don't agree with someone I like to read opinions. I don't really see anything constructive about creating this thread and linking to someones personal blog that is outside the scope of this site. *note* If you had been talking about a blog created by a well known person in game development... I could see linking to it.. but not an individual you simply don't agree with *end note*
Guild banks is coming, rift had no guild banks at launch ether. Swtor launched with 1 raid eternity vault, and it has a 2nd raid operations at patch 1.1 , there are daily you can do for gears, mounts, mods, swtor launched with 16 flashpoints, with hard modes, and it recently added a new flashpoints with patch 1.1, pvp with pvp gears, high quality warfronts.
Only 2 raids and 16 dungeons? WoW has way more than that. WoW also has guild banks and arena pvp. TOR has neither.
This game sounds pretty weak. Glad I didn't waste my money it.
WoW launched with half of that....
They added one of the razor fang instances, Maradoun and Dire Maul after launch, they converted a UBRS to 15man raid because it was "too hard" for some people and not enough end game content.
MC was impossible to do untill it get nerfed 4 times(all the trash AoE was removed) in a row, Rag was unkillable untill it got it's HP cut down by allmost half, and son spawns were nerfed too(Ascent went form about bcs 50-40% wipes, to kill in 1 patch) not to mention Rag used to crash the server on every reset, we actually requets no to attempt it untill they hot fix it..
On launch WoW had onyxia, and MC as raids( 11 bosses on launched, with about 9-8 downable pre-nerfs), (L/U)BRS, Scholo, Start, SM, BRD, WC, DM, SFK, and that instance in origimmar on launch... most of them were pretty hard and buggy too, and from level 32-34 to about level 54-52 there was not a single instance in the game untill they added the high level Razor Fang one, Maradoun, and Dire Maul...
Sorry but WoW had just as many techincal issues as ToR, even more, i guess people dont recall what lootskating is any more but that's what you get where most of them joined after TBC or later...

You're living in the past. I said WoW has more content than TOR. I'm talking about now. I don't care what it launched with in 2004. pmod edit]
Something I see brought up a lot is how SWTOR's doing compared to the launch of another game that has years of post-launch development under it's belt already. I think this is stupid because you're not competing with the game when it launched. That's not what the MMO's respective players are enjoying right now. Games, when they release, are competing with what exists at the time of their launch.
Maybe you, personaly, can say, "I'm willing to stick it out with this game because it looks like it will eventually become a much more comparable, and enjoyable experience" if it isn't already, but I would never say "I'm going to play this clearly inferior product on basis that, by the nature of MMO design process, it has had substantially less time to develop."
On topic: I thought the blog post referred to in the OP was more-or-less accurate. It didn't paint a horrid image of SWTOR to me. What was correct just pointed out the flaws that were blatant and debated to death on these forums.
I can't tell if she is cute or not but it bothers me I have no idea what a Granola Girl is. In all seriousness, who cares? It is just a blog.
She may define it slightly differently, but calling someone 'granola' is a stereotype where the person is generally outdoorsy. Hiking, mountain biking, camping, etc. They tend to be people who have a 'philosophy' about nature and its preservation. Granolas are distinct from both 'hunters' and 'hippies'. Although, most would claim granolas and hippies have more in common than granolas and hunter types. But for example, you might catch a granola at REI buying a camping tent, but rarely catch a hippy there. They are both likely to skinny dip in the lake or hot springs. You find a lot of granolas at folk festivals, bluegrass festivals and to a smaller extent at jam bands like Phish - you probably won't run into a granola at a gangsta rap concert or brittney spears.
Wherever there are granolas there is flannel and/or fleece.
Look for shoe products like 'keen' or 'merrells' - don't expect to see the latest nike shoe. But whenever possible, the footwear of choice for the granola is a sandal. Chaco's are super hip with granolas, as are zip off conversion hiking pants/shorts.
My guess is the term is much more common here in the west, as we just have a lot of big impressive outdoor spaces that attract Granolas.
And why the word 'granola'?
Granola goes in your yogurt in the morning, and in your trail mix all day. It is bizarre how common this product is in the homes and backpacks of this stereotype.
If you have strong feeling towards Teala's blog, then maybe you would be better of posting comment there as it would probably be a lot more appropriate than trying to call her out here. It is a blog by the way, which are by nature the opinions of the people who write them. I'm sure she will be here soon enough to defend herself, but frankly I don't see what the problem is. She has her opinion, she backs up her point of view with supporting facts, and I'm not really seeing any real falsehoods. By making this thread here you have really done your cause a lot more harm then good, you'd be a lot better off commenting there where she will see it (we get private messages in our in box when someone comments on our blogs here).
