Time is up. Too late, you had a chance and blew it.
Any video you produce now will be tainted by the prep time you have had to get other accounts logged in, SV staff boosting numbers, IRC call out for reinforcements etc.

O my god, it's a city, there are 6 city in there, 11 keeps, 3 dungeons, mobs to kill and houses. We are not all in a place.
But the video only shows one city so that is all we can base it on. As to all those other cities and dungeons, I guess we will just have to take it on faith.

Can you define lots? Is it about a dozen? Hundreds? How many are trial players like you?

btw: cities in MO are only a place for sell, and be ready for go out. There are more poeple in cities when it's night.
Dude, just face it. You blew it. It took you nearly 30 mins to get that many people logged in to boost your nonexistant case and it is still a pitiful amount.
The truth will be known soon enough, when SV publish yet more dire financial reports since 10 people in the capital city is not going to pay the bills.

Good job a deflecting! What does any of your questions have to do with the population in MO?
A man is his own easiest dupe, for what he wishes to be true he generally believes to be true...
All I have to say is after SWTOR crushed my dreams, I needed something different and a few of my friends told me to come play MO with them. I DL'd the trial and It seemed fun for the first few days. There were quite a few people playing it seemed, I saw some pretty nice battles(I would say 30v30ish gusstimate), Fab also seemed to have a 15-25ish population at most hours of the day.

Could you elaborate as to why you quit? What did you find lacking?
And sorry about SWTOR. I just coudn't bring myself to play another themepark...

Kakasaki, typically you are a pretty rational person in your posts in terms of rational criticism of MO. I didnt think you were the type to irrationally dispute the fact that players are noticing more people running around.
Its not scientific, but many people who played 3 months ago and the same people playing now probably have noticed it more crowded. I dont see what the big deal for the hate from you.
Does it mean SV is a great company with great developers now? No. It doesnt. So they may (or may not) have had a small pop increase because of the "awakening" announcement.
I have to say, after reading about this "limbo" state in Darkfall 2 and the the f2p server coming to Asia (I live in Korea), I am more likely to play MO in future than DF2. Otherwise, I would have to play DF on the NA server, which since it was moved to the east coast makes my high ping more of an issue. I'm really sad about this because I liked the original DF a lot. There are probably more than a few DF players thinking similarly to me. We are not happy with what AV has been doing to the game.
On the bright side, MO is moving in a good direction and if/when I have time for a sandbox, I would be happy to come back. I played for a bit after TC came out and I saw better game performance and increased pops then, too. I also think SV has a much better vision for this type of game than AV does for theirs.

I am sorry of I seem more exasperated these days. But you have to admit, the recent push from low post count/new users claiming the game is great is somewhat suspect. As far as the poster in this thread is concerned, I agreed with him. It wasn't sarcasm. His claim is based that 2 or 3 months ago there was barely 1 ot 2 people in the city he shows on the video. Now he is seeing a dozen or so. So yes, under those parameters the game is booming. However, that's a very narrow set of parameters and hardly a claim for a booming population. I mean, some of the posts on here make it seem like you have to wade through thousands of toons because of a booming population.

At the end of the day, check my post history. I have defended the game when I thought an attack was not merited. I have always said if you want to truly make up your mind about the game, try the free trial. If that makes me a hater then you fans have a very strange definition of the term...

I'm not really a new person here. But I'm going to take a crack at this.
Friday about lunch 12:00 - 13:00 PST. I ran into maybe 5 people boring as shit.
Today i played throughout the day and saw several dozen people, got killed by one asshole's pet while using the grinder, watched some dude chase down a PKer and kill him, ate my own head after looting what was left of my body (which gave me a stomach ache). And listend to random people BS around in town.
Hunted pigs and saw about 4 people infront of the giant gates hunting as well, had to keep and eye on them and keep skinning carcases as to not get to weiged down. I tried to take pictures but the fucking game doesn't have a print screen screenshot function (wtf?!).
Also the damn pigs warpped around while I was trying to move to hit them, it was pretty shitty. I had to sit still and just block and smack the pig cause if I moved it would port away then behind me. It was pretty dumb so server shit needs some work. I also died to a fucking antelope cause the prediction system or w/e wouldn't whack the damn thing while I was close to a tree.
Though overall. Losing stuff in the game isn't bad. I crafted leather and just kept some in storage, so when I died I just went and made more. I don't really see the huge deal in dying or losing stuff.
All your tools are also bound to you, so your character can't really be in a state where they cannot immediately replace their stuff.
In anycase back to the original argument. Pop depends on when you get online. This weekend seems pretty normal for an MMO in general, quite a few people (two or three dozen at a time), lots of chatting, and griefing.

How can you not call an almost 10 times increase in population "booming"?
And even if only 9/10 of those new players start a subscription that's still good news for MO.
And before anyone calls me a rabid fanboy im gonna state that im not playing the game, and haven't played since beta. I like the idea and the vision of the game, i just dont think it's good enough yet to be worth a subscription. For me that is.

Going by the number of people shown in the video (small sample, i know) and the claim that just a few months ago there was 2-3 people there.

Please show some proof to that ten times increase, since you see, the financial report of SV (the one they can't lie in) says otherwise.
So proof was given and some of you are still trying to say that it's a lie. What does it matter that they are all standing around? What do you think happens in a city? Banking, buying and selling wares, talking to friends, binding keys, adjusting sound and video settings and going AFK - among other things. So yeah, that's what happens in a city.
I still think the game looks like EQ, but slightly better. That, and their designers must all be randomly placing buildings around everywhere. Nothing looks like it's supposed to be there.
Compare TERA and MO graphically. Now that's what you can do with the Unreal 3 engine. The MO designers have absolutely no skill. Their lack of artistic talent takes any and all immersion that MO had out of it. Hell, you could probably do more with Minecraft. It's quite sad.
But yes, the population seems to still be very low, though, maybe a little bit better than I expected.
Please show some proof to that ten times increase, since you see, the financial report of SV (the one they can't lie in) says otherwise.
The latest financial report was for 2011, so it wouldn't reflect the last month.
My only "proof" is what has been provided in this thread and reports from players who are in the game. An increase in trial accounts are also unlikely to show in a financial report. I never said all the new players that players have seen in the game are there to stay, most of them are in fact likely to quit once their trial period is up.

It's by no means awesome, or even good, but that would still be a boom in population, wouldn't it?
Im not saying the game is saved or great or the best thing ever. Im simply arguing the fact that people see more players online would constitute an increase, and from what i've heard, a major increase. The game might still be doomed. I don't really care that much.
I reiterate, I have no proof other then what's been provided in this thread by the people playing the game. But if there is indeed ~20 players where there before was 3, how is that not a major increase in activity?
