I am working on a new article and would like to do a few surveys to get a better grasp as to what people like and what they dislike in MMORPG's, and other important info. So if you wish to participate, please be honest, and just vote accordingly. It'll be a multiple set of questions spread out over the next couple of weeks. Thank you in advance for participating.

My curiosity is certainly peaked!
Well it's good to see that everything I voted on is the top vote-getter by far. Not many votes right now but still.
Should be an interesting read.
Bartoni's Law definition: As an Internet discussion grows volatile, the probability of a comparison involving Donald Trump approaches 1.
lol. Same. However, I did vote for PvP - with a World PvP mindset.
Before I answer the last poll do you mean character customization as in at character creation or how your character is able to be customized during his career via skills, stats, levels, etc.?
Hopefully, this survey will give me more insight into your brains and see what makes many of you tick.
During creation of your character - when you first make it.
I voted 'Not Important', but that's because I think it's what happens after you roll your character that's important - i.e. being able to customize them after playing them. Or recustomize them at some point. It never seems all that important while I'm making my character.
Does 'Zoned World' mean Aion? You have one world, and it's open, but there are several difference instances of that one world you can switch between at will.
Does 'Instanced World' mean like SWToR or Champions Online? Between different areas, you have loading screens and you 'zone' in to the area?
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
Open World is exactly as it sounds - open, no load screens between areas.
Zoned is like AoC where you have a load screen as you enter into each area.
Instanced is like Guild Wars.
Got it, thanks for the clarification. I picked not important because I can literally just random my character and usually be happy with what I'm given, or I just random until I am. I hate wasting anymore than 2 minutes on the character creation screen as most of the time, you don't look at the front of your character very much and the other part of the time you are covered by various armor and gear. So games like CoH and CO with these incredibly detailed character creation mechanics are wasted on me.
Cool...some interesting results all ready.
Ill be watching this one closely...you got me curious
A good complementary question to go with "Which do you prefer in MMOs, PVP or PVE?" is "Which do you currently mostly play in MMOs, PVP or PVE?" I've found comparing one against the other makes for interesting results.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein
"Graphics are often supplied by Engines that (some) MMORPG's are built in" - Spuffyre
First question is just silly
I want turn based mmos ffs, when atlantica came first,i was skeptic but playing it was amazing, both pve and pvp but than it got ruined. So if there is janra that devs must dig more are turn based games and sci fi.Screw this elfs/orcs/knights medevil games with swords.
You can not get the truth from us this easily.
I don't see what makes it silly....mind clarifying?
Of course i picked gameplay, because without a FUN game, nothing makes up for it, and it will never make it.
second would be story, then graphics.
The Deep Web is sca-ry.
My vote is a bit of a contradiction . I love open world and pvp. The contradiction stems from I also like challenging PvE . With that said, I hate being ganked while doing PvE. ( especially when I'm low on health and stand no chance . Win or lose I'd like to think I put up a decent fight.) This would necessitate that the world be zoned . I also detest the flagged concept in open worlds . Character customization to me is basically playing dressup with my favorite doll whether it's Ken or Barbie. Really the in the first question all the categories are important it comes down to, in what order . If you're into PvE story is extremely important , PvP, gameplay . ( A movement needs to be started to enlighten devs that stuns and holds in PvP is bad game design. )
While gameplay is always important regardless of genre, Community is pretty darn imporant for an MMO. Without it and it truely is a singleplayer game wither it played like it before or not. Sad to see so few votes for community.
Intrested to see where this is going. You have my votes.
You really have to define community . Honestly most people I run into in game are decent helpful and polite . When I think of community , that's where my mind goes to . I tend to guild/clans though personnally which really focus and narrows the sense of community. If you're talking forums , good luck then . That the holy grail , many have searched and none have found.
I voted, but i would have appreciated a PvPvE (PvEvP?) answer in the pvp vs pve question.
The ingame populous is how I define it. Which is a mix of all the other players you come in contact with(chat or phyically) and your guildies.
