SWTOR LETTER TO BIOWARE

Well after playing almost 2 month of the game, I finally had it.

I have an i7 processor with 16 gigs of ram, 2 gtx 580 sli, and I still get fps problems. Not all the maps of swtor, but certain compact places, like wz, and illum omg lol. I kept wondering if it was my pc, but from what I see from this forum it isn’t my pc at all.

There is also a problem with alderan wz where sometimes the bike doesn't appear, and I even tried resetting my UI. Still no go. My fps in illum would drop to like 15-20 fps and it’s bad when we have big group fights.

The thing is, I have played Tera online, and Blade and Soul (Private server). I can assure you I can play the game at full settings with no issue at all from having 40-50 man PvP raids. See, I could live with this problem, Bioware, but what topped it off for me was when you guys replied in customer service, “It’s not our game it’s your pc”. I mean seriously now, you don't only see me posting but many more people posting the same problems, and you have the nerve to say it’s my pc.

I love the game. I really do. The PvE is amazing and the PvP is fun, but the way you guys handle things, ignore people on forums, and still continue to say to this day that "it’s not our system, it’s yours" - well it shows how you guys really handle things. Also what is worse is, with in-game support, you would think at since you guys messed up the game so badly, that you would at least have good in-game support, but you guys can't even provide that.

For example (this is not my fault btw), I bought a champion PvP weapon and it clearly showed the item was main hand weapon. I remember it too that I didn’t make a mistake because I made sure that the 2 PvP weapons I wanted was the only one showing. Well guess what happened? When I bought the item, it somehow registered as an off-hand, when it clearly states it is main hand. I’m a Sith Juggernaut. What am I going to do with an off-hand weapon? The Champion/Battlemaster bag is already irritating to get, and what’ more irritating is the loot drop it gives.

Anyways I was so excited when you guys replied with the protocol droid saying list the item you need replaced, name of server, name of toon etc... but then leaving me hanging with the ticket opened for about 3 and a half weeks, is just crazy. I still have no response to this day, and it clearly shows again that you (Bioware) don’t care about the customers.

I know this probably doesn't mean anything to you guys, but I am speaking for the rest of the people,

WHO ARE GOING THROUGH PROBLEMS IN THE GAME, AND FOR FUTURE PLAYERS WHO WANT TO JOIN SWTOR.

There is no point on going through this painful experience with Bioware. To sell an unfinished product to customers is just not fair at all. An example of unfinished product is FFXIV, but at least FFXIV made a U-Turn and actually fixed the problems.

Now from what I hear they are doing very good, and are releasing 1 of the biggest patches people are looking forward to. The difference is FFXIV customer service responds to the community. When they say they will do something, they do it.

Anyways for the players who are still experiencing problems in-game, and for future, gamers who are looking into SWTOR, that don’t know much about how the game is, don’t be fooled. Read this post, and if it isn’t convincing enough, read other post, save your 60-120 bucks plus monthly and really think about what your about to do lol.

I really thought I could stay with Bioware, and play through SWTOR’s problems, but jeez, at least provide us with better customer service. You guys already messed up the game, give us something.

Anyways GL to all who are playing the game, and to people who are playing the game with no problem, I really hope it continues for you guys. Just wanted to share what I posted to SWTOR Bioware. Sorry my English writing isn’t my strongest suit lol, so don’t judge it :( feel free to leave comments

Jesus. Where's a the spaces and paragraphs. It's like being hit in the face with a word hammer. I think I started hallucinating by the third line.

This letter will make things happen. This is the approach we need to take to improve upon games. Your lack of punctuation and proper grammar express anguish and frustration that words cannot.

Looking good guys. We need about 11 more people doing the "ZOMG wall of text!!!" thing (or "cool" variant of it), instead of actually reading the post,  and I think we can call this a successful thread.

    Working as intended.

Also, that should be letter to EA not BW. There is no BW anymore.

Yeah OP, i still can't undersand how a game that looks so bad, i mean 2005 bad, it basically looks like crap, almost every AAA mmo released in the last 5 years has better graphics.

Yet.... it runs like crap, it's almost like if it was a poorly coded console port.

Who should we blame? the engine? Bioware?

    Who knows...

It's even worse when you consider upcoming mmos like GW2, Tera & ArcheAge, all of them have 100 vs 100 pvp features and there are NO fps issues.

The short version seems to be I disapprove of Bioware's customer service.

It may be a valid story but if your message to Bioware CS was similar to this post you may need to research this:

"Never met a pack of humans that were any different. Look at the idiots that get elected every couple of years. You really consider those guys more mature than us? The only difference between us and them is, when they gank some noobs and take their stuff, the noobs actually die." - Madimorga

Seriously, the performance issues of this game is wierd as hell. Hopefully, they will get the kinks out and have it running smooth.

true op!if it is controlled by bw (npc etc)no issue on average (if shadow are off)but if you get close to player no mather what you do it is like me speraking spanish and 10 translator are explaining to the last ,like english to french to spanish to italian to korean etc etc etc .it is either a bug or our system dont recon what swtor want!and i believe it is at their end cause just the new update we had improved by a huge amount the game but not affected directly the gamer character lol!

Not gonna be picking on ya about the wall o' text... I think you've been battered enough on that, already.

Dunno what your issue could be.  I don't have half the rig you have, and the only times I get slowdown is in the fleet, and in space mission areas that have like 50 enemy ships and a destroyer shooting at me.

Rest of the time, I'm getting AT LEAST 30fps with a 2.5 x 4 phenom 2, 8 gigs of standard memory, and an ATI 5770.

I know it can be frustrating, but there has to be a reason.  I'd switch everything I could to "use app settings", everything else to performance or OFF, and start turning things up from there.  Forgive me if you already said you tried that... I just couldn't read the whole thing.

  • aligada87aligada87 Member UncommonPosts: 234

thing is, it would be fine with me if they responded with a different approach instead of just simply saying, "its not our system, its yours." just by them saying that shows how much they care about their community. i just hope gw2 becomes the mmo that i am looking for, and i hope they don't pull off something like this.

at robs i did that bro, even turned off all the settings to off, and put my gfx to full performance, my point is should i even have to do that with this game. i mean come on the game isnt even that great looking, but to ask me to turn off, and turn down my settings to play decently on swtor is just ludacris. i have played many mmos, aion online, rift, lotro, aoc and many more at full settings with a 50-100 man raid and it doesnt have to ask me to turn or set down my graphics. for example, i played blade and soul private server, key word PRIVATE SERVER CBT VERSION and i didnt once have to turn down my gfx. the game is just crap and it's just tiring to deal with, and to top it off the customer service don't do shit about it, except simply responding with, "its not our system, its yours."
