    Doesnt really matter, both games are  different genres, but from my point of view, I wont be touching D3 with a barge pole, Blizzard has surely destroyed an epic, no modding,  removal of identity scrolls, real money auction house, and thats the tip of the iceberg.

    True, they're different games, but it's not unrealistic to assume that there is a large crossover fanbase. I was a fan of the previous two Diablo games, but I'm on the fence about D3, and if it release at the same time as GW2, it's unlikely that I'll get it. The gaming industry is becoming like the movie industry in the sense that once a title is out of the spotlight, sales diminish pretty quickly. Blizzard won't risk sharing that spotlight, same genre or not. The fact the genres are pretty similar only decreases the likelyhood of close release dates. As for the OP's question, I think that Blizzard is much more likely to sit on their game for the right time.
