Well personally on both of these launches I had an absolute blast, and got more than my moneys worth in the first month of play. Yes it was broken and PR was horrible, but in the end they delivered fun addictive games.
TSW is a different dev team, led by a guy who has produced 2 console games which require extreme levels of polish. AoC was not just a new game but a new engine. TSW is using that same engine.
Also if you look up beta reports the game engine appears to be pretty rock solid allowing 30+ hours of continuous no crash gameplay.
I will be all over this sweetly designed game from day 1 and I will preorder the second it is available to support the ideas that they are putting forward.
They get my money for the box on the fact that they at least tried to do something sufficiently different. If i sub will definitely depend on how much lasting appeal it has however.
But i'm ready to put down that initial investment just for the ideas behind this project alone.
With GW2 i have a different logic, there i'll buy it either way, because its a one-time investment anyways.
Played the beta , at my mates and i can say thats its actually decent and really fun. I dont think its going to fail like AOC did. If you have played the beta you would understand...
It's an okay game, but people suffer from a misguided belief that this is a sandbox or even a sandpark game. It is first and foremost a themepark game. It has it's nice bits, but it's not a game changer for the genre. I do find it much more entertaining than Age of Conan, but as a casual gamer, I find SWTOR's gameplay and combat more my cup of tea.

I dunno man i dont really agree SWTOR to me is decent but gets old fast, TSW seems like its going to be a game you play for more then 1 month and then quit. I cant say ive played all the content but the content i have played its been really good.
There is a good thing about negativity. Launch will come with less players and after a couple of months, IF the game really worths its grain, it will get populated like never before.
So i for one, wont follow either the positive nor the negative Hype. I will buy the game at launch and play it and if i like it, im sure the good new will spread around the internet like wildfire in the summer days of a rainforest.

I just hope for a good release. The fans atleast deserve that if anything.

cried out
And under the ashes of infinity,
Hope, scarred and bleeding,
breathed its last."
