I've posted the game's trailer on my blogspot you can watch it here:
So what's your say about this game? Its from EA and funcom, they will let players decide what to do since there's no level and or class restriction. Damn this must be good!!!
Well... It's EA... And one thing I've learned about EA is that they're going to stick it to you in every way possible... They did it with Madden... They did it with The Sims.... They did it with DA2.... They did it with SWTOR...
I honestly can't think of a good experience where I got value to money and they didn't try to suck every possible penny out of me from Day 1... They're worse than the IRS...
only its not really,. EA are just a distribution partner, Funcom are still the producers. This is simmilar to the deal EA used to have with Valve, Valve did the downloads, EA put boxes on shelves. YES VALVE of all people.
I'm following it. Highly doubt I will pick it up at launch because regardless how some want to justify it or talk about how AoC is now that game was simply a mess at launch. So not real keen on jumping on board again until I see how things pan out. Does the AOC launch mean this will go the same way? No...but it was so awful that I'll let others test the waters first before I jump in.
Not completely writing the game off though either. Seems to have a lot of potential and interesting concepts going on for it. We'll see...
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.
lol Funcom...and people never learn and will fall for it again...
Well lots of people, me included tought that when Bioware was making a MMO that was going to be the most polished game to relase ever!!! Bioware has a good trackrecord with their singleplayer games, but SWTOR is far from polished and got their fair share of bugs and lack of endgame content. I just hope Funcom has learned from the development and launch of AoC. A MMORPG only got one chance for a successfull launch. And that can make or brake the games future.
Hauken Stormchaser I want pre-CU back Station.com : We got your game Yeah?, Well i want it back!!!
For the sake of humor, what if both SOE and Funcom were working together on this? Imagine the awesome threads we'll have about that!
"I have only two out of my company and 20 out of some other company. We need support, but it is almost suicide to try to get it here as we are swept by machine gun fire and a constant barrage is on us. I have no one on my left and only a few on my right. I will hold." (First Lieutenant Clifton B. Cates, US Marine Corps, Soissons, 19 July 1918)
You dudes really dont want to make me your enemy NUmber one because Im home all day and I have nothing better to do... I can lurk on the Funcom forums and on these and just keep making example after example of the FAIL that this company is.. and how they treat its customers...
A job or woman is 100x more satisfying than all that.

Thanx for reposting my links.. Its Important people read. That AOC, still isent bug free even after 4 years..
Funcom has a lot to prove. with this release.. Their future reputation is really on the line this time.. another fail attempt and they might not get a 4th try..

I don't think I have ever seen a mmo with zero bugs...WoW still has things that are messed up, EQ1 does...Everytime their is a patch in a mmo, something goes a little wacky.... As long as its fun, I don't care. I await your infinite time to find a mmo without one bug.
If you guys want to discuss Funcom, there is a stickied thread for that in this forum. Remember that this sort of posting: "Funcom sucks" "Failcom" etc is potentially inflammatory, so try to add some substance.

When AOC came out, I got Funcommed. Never again. It was supposed to be a Conan game. SMH.
To be fair, as a Barbarian rolling through Cimmeria it felt almost right. Shame most of it didn't.

I had my fair share of fun with AoC, mostly with the open world PvP and 3 to 4 way big guild fights every single night. I know there's a 3 way battleground in TSW but i doubt it will have the same appeal as the randomness to open world with not knowing how many re-inforcements any one side would have incoming, multiple guilds banding together to take one side off a vantage point then turning on one another to take control of it etc etc.

Funcom talked about the design of the Warzones, and as I understood it they were trying to get the 100v100v100 battles split up by having multiple key points of interest. If they succed in this you will probably have a battle that goes in waves around different points as people move between them to help out or try to take a point of interest. Since it's three factions I think the battle is going to be very back-and-forth, with little advantage in clumping up since you then will probably get hammered by the two other factions.
Regarding AoC I had plenty of good times playing my Bear Shaman, mostly in PvE while leveling and doing some awesome Raids. I was teh suck at PvP, mostly because there are so many hotkeys necessary (4 movement+6attack directions+6spells+8combos=24+ hotkeys). I am looking forward to 4movement+7active skills = 11 hotkeys for TSW.
SWTOR was the last game I'm ever pre-ordering and with EA backing {mod edit} I'm sure it'll be another disappointment. How can a company go out and produce another MMO when they haven't even fixed AOC yet?
EA = Take the money and run. I equate them with a cheasy used car dealer trying to sell someone a Yugo as an awesome new sports car.
Currently playing SWTOR and it's MUCH better than it was at launch.
Not to mention clumping up would leave all of the other points open for the other factions. Think of it almost like bf3 where you have some people taking one point, some others taking another point, and then you have the noobs running inbetween dying alone

the warzones essentially have 4 "keeps", owning 2 of these gives ownership of the zone to the given society until one of the other societies rip it off them.
please also stop spreading misinformation that it is 100vs100vs100. They ARE NOT FIXED SIZE battles, if you can't bring as many players as the other socities - tough.

They are not fixed, but have a maxiumum cap to avoid lag. Exactly what the cap is isnt known, the only word is ''over 100''.
Do you have a quote on the 4 ''keeps''? I saw some video from a warzone where they had to go to a anima well to gather something which they infused into a big robot that would fight for them.

You might be right, we'll see. No doubt i'll buy it at launch on the off chance as there's nothing other than TERA coming out anytime soon.
It will be interesting to see how only having limited skills available ends up, i'm so used to having all those hotkeys now that it'll seem a bit weird. The only other point of reference i have is the knock of WAR wanna be MOBA game Wrath of Heroes beta as it was just 4 or 5 skills if i remember right, but it's a bit sucky

Then the Maya's predictions about 2012 would be real. (shudders at the though)
A man is his own easiest dupe, for what he wishes to be true he generally believes to be true...
Cash Shop game = no thanks
Can't wait for this game to come out! Finally something trully different.
im ok with funcom as long as they learn from past mistakes. Where i see the real problem is EA + subscription + cash shop + rumored RMT
lol, look at your post, then look at your name. You really are a warmaker hehe
SOE + funcom.... brrrrrr gives me the chill
