New features added to the game: what the first new feature would you like to see added to GW2 ?

what the first new feature would you like to see added to GW2?

GW2 will expand as other MMO do, and develop and gain features over time.

But what new features would you like to see added to GW2 first?

    a point.

The ability to......play the game right now.

    This is not a game.

End game raids, or something close to it.

    Tiered raiding with gear progression.

    GW2 needs this badly

I'll be satisfied as is when released. No raids or tiered gear progression required.

You mean in number of people able to participate in it or in challenge?

    This is not a game.

Lets not turn this game into another WoW, where you mindlessly gring gear in a instance repetativly.

As for answereing the OP question i wanna see them add some real chalenging events that doest change there current game aspects. Also no flying mounts should be added full stop they just make the world feel so small.

The end game will be just fine without raids and gear grind. There are other games for that kind of thing already.

I know this sounds crazy!  But how about different cultures per faction?  You know, like in real battles?

For once, I would like to pvp against someone who was not one of the 4-5 copy paste races of my guild or faction.  I would like to see that I have no access to the opposite faction's armor, overall gear, language, and let them have different combat and spell animations.  That would be cool.

    How about it>  Yeah right.

Some kind of guild or player housing. I know it's on their agenda, just not for release.

I would like to see a contest for player created designs on weapons and armor. I would like to see the winners of these contests have their armor put into the game with the first expansion. I would also like to see the winners be given a one of a kind prize. Commission an artist to do a peice of art, or even some hardcover copies of the novels, signed by the staff. Just something to be really special and bring the fans into the creative process and pay them with something that costs very little but is virtually priceless.

All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.

I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.

I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.

Will you give it a rest?  Mirrored races/classes is the subject of literally 8 of your last 10 posts.  You've made your point abundantly clear.

I've already tried to educate you on why GW2 is doing what it's doing.  Apparently at least twice since that link refers back to an earlier attempt.

I would argue that GW2 WILL HAVE BETTER PVP THAN DAOC.  What they're doing, which involves mirrored classes, also improves the gameplay.  Yes, it comes at a cost to lore and realism, but you can't have everything.  Gameplay > Lore.

Take some time and learn about GW2, especially the awesome things they're doing with PVE lore and personal storylines, or else people are just going to keep facepalming you like in that other thread.

Absolutely no. The game doesn't need it and the game design soesn't support it. It would undo the entire design philosophy of the game.

Features I'm looking forward to? Housing, Guild Housing.

Someone on here said something that I thought would be a good idea but I dont know if they could work it into a feature.

At current we have dynamic event bosses which are massive. As far as how difficult they'll be, no one knows yet. Since Anet is agaisnt raiding, why not merge these Dynamic Event bosses with raiding somehow? Have huge world event bosses that are nigh impossible or just severely hard or difficult to slay. You would need tons of players to assemble and help slay the beast. Almost like WvWvW but instead of beating the other players, it would be to defeat this epic scale boss.

So my idea would be to make Epic Dynamic Events. Hell, for all I know they could have these already in-game or planned.

The whole point of these dynamic events is that they scale. The more players take part, the more dangerous the bosses in these dynamic events become.

I wouldnt be surprised if the release already has huge bosses to fight in dynamic events.

Normal DEs scale up to 10 people, but there are boss DEs which scale up to 100.  Or did you mean some especially elite encounters.  Right now we only know for sure about

    The Shatterer

    Tequatl the Sunless

    Shadow Behemoth

Right, because there aren't 50 games just like this. If one of those doesn't appeal to you nothing will.

That will make for great playerrun events :) Instead of a conga in Guild Wars 1 during Halloween event, we zerg The Shatterer in GW2 during Halloween event :p

Correct me if I"m wrong, but I belive those big elite events are the culmination of a bunch of other event chains. So you really can't have those encounters on demand so to speak.

I thought about that a ways back and it occurred to me that since regular DEs only scale up to 10 people, you could have guild groups of 5-10 working on various major chains around the world at the same time.  When one of the chains gets to a boss fight, you have everybody port over to participate in it, then go back to start working on progressing those other chains again to try to spawn another boss.  Not quite bosses on demand, but hopefully you'd still see a lot of them.

And those are only the three bosses we know about.  There's 25 zones in the game (20 if you take out newbie zones).  That Shadow Behemoth is a level 15 boss.  There might be a lot of boss variety in the open world we haven't seen.
