It sounds like the game should not have had its released pused up from april to march. Also in world of warcraft good tactics do get you the win. Gear is important but not the most important if someone uses better tactics than you. You will lose. The random rolling stuff does sound good but at the same time the way the interlock system works I think it could be a problem. I still remain skeptical and I hope there is a free trial that comes out so I can test the game out before I buy it. I hope they get the game all good to go by release time because it seems like it could be amazing.

The rolls are random within a range and there are many way to manipulate them against your target and in your favor. For example Detect Vulnerability and its subskills allow you to exploit vulnerabilities in your opponents technique. While the skill is active you will see images under your targets name with what tactic they are currently vulnerable to. For example Speed might pop up under their name, for the duration of the images appearance, speed attacks will have increased chances to hit. On top of this if you equip Punishing Blows and Precise Blow, you do mor damage when attacking your opponents vulnerability.

On the flip side, one can defend from this by using the Empty Mind set which reduces your chances of vulnerability detection and the time in which a vulnerability is exposed if it is exposed.

There is also the Energized Attacks line which is all about raw damage but increases your vulnerability exposure. Theres a level of tactics in deciding which of these 3 lines you wish to use. (As in the latest patch you can only have one of these three lines on at once)

There are other less subtle ways to effect ones roll. Althouh the rolls are random this isnt to say you will never hit or your opponent will never hit you -- as they are in a range, and Consistent Technique narrrows this range, if you can set your opponent up for a good combat tactic debuffing combo. You can do some serious damage. Early on the easiest devastating combo to do is hit Cheap Shot, to reduce combat tactics by like -5 or -10. Then use this advantage to dump a few speed shots in, which is a pre-requisite to use Headbutt, once they are Dazed from Speed, Headbutt, and their tactics are debuffed again.

Pretty devastating early on. In fact I killed Bob in the Tutorial with this in one straight run. (He's pretty hard for a tutorial mob)

The games depth in combat is beyond what you can perceive in a simple preview or what you've come up with yourself. All you guys have seen are the aesthetic which looks nice. Beyond that you know nothing of the combos, abilities, state effects, passive abilities etc...

    Theres a lot here.

everyone is talking about how combat is the only thing u can do in this game, but that is completely untrue. For example, raves and parties are a huge part of the game, where u can meet other players, heal up, find groups, and just have fun. This sort of thing also adds to the good community of the game (which most other mmo's have failed at having). Crafting (or coding) is can also play a large part if u choose to use it. U can create a wide variety of items and other things, from cowboy hats that give an armor like protection, to sumalcra, which are basically human like programs that can fight for u. Using spy abilities also branch off from the combat part of the game. While these skills can be used in a combat like manner (sneak attacks), u can also use them for things like disguising yourself as an enemy or becoming completely invisible.

I think I would rather go to a real rave or real party.

yea i would too, but at least at the party they give you information. (money) and the songs they play on RFZ are really good. plus its fun to watch your fps go below 5 every once in a while.
