But i don't think thats what you are going for....

Elite mobs in MMOs are hardly new.....

As for your point on the combat, it just gets better and better as I level, the more moves you get the better, then you set up chains and as soon as you hit 20+ the glyphs really allow you to custimize yourself well and determine what moves youll be using in what situations.

I started getting items with speed boosts at level 27, yet to see any noticeable difference but I'm sure I will once I get higher level.

Ikr everyone screams like Blue Hole said we going to give you guys the most interactive and dynamic quest ever and then it didn't happen. But Blue Hole never promise or said any of that, it said it was going to offer action combat and it fucking did -.- i mean i'm pretty happy they do what they promise and everyoen else to me is a bonus if they had it or plan to fix.

Human female - "Why can't my wife look like that?"

Castanic  female - "Wow they clearly  aren't scared to show some skin"

Popori - "They have hamsters too?!?!"

    Elin - "......WTF?""

At least this was my intial reaction and pretty much anyone else I showed the character creation to.  Now if this was some cute anime game where everything is brightly coloured and PG13 then Elin really wouldn't be such a big deal but that just isn't the case.  Not everyone playing an Elin will do it because they like the sight of what can be taken as a little girl  dressed by a terrible mother but the topic it brings up is a very serious one and isn't something anyone should take lightly.

They aren't going to take Elin out of the game but TERA's overuse of sexuality, imo, has always been one of the major factors holding it back it from mainstream success.

Fantasy -.- if anyone compare Fantasy to real life they have issues and thats not the game's fault. Also if anyone bother to read up the lore, Elin look young because it reflext the pureness of the goddess that created them. And the game is freaken rated M, and its Asian art where fucking jiggle physics is born -.- i don't see that as anything abnormal at all. If its not your taste of art fine but doesn't make people who like them bad. And FYI mainstream in NA is all FPS.

Yep, open world pvp, guild war are 24hrs long and war up to 3 guild at a time with 300 member cap in guild so you can expect some every massive battles. The political system is the terrirtorial control, area are either you fight arena matchs to control it or you have to get voted in to control. And you have to do certain things to stay in control and defeat challengers. This game is very heavly PvP focused for end game, there are hard mode dungeon for PvE players and possibly raid soon in the future but as of now its more PvP. O ya Server Vs Server is also on the list. But people who don't want to like the game don't look at those they just look at whats wrong not whats right.

    She's 10. Stop looking.

Should i start listing AAA games that made in NA thats much much much much much much much........much much much much much much much worse than having a young child like playable character in them? Trust me the list goes on. I love how peopel complain about games made in Asian been inappropriate while so many more main stream game build on it.

It's not as interesting as it sounds on paper. There is a reason that no one in Korea talks about the political system or the territorial control much. Also with pointless world PvP and animation locks with combat animations can turn off PvPers just as much as the rest draws them in.

Maybe because Korean aren't interested in the same thing? Every thought about the whole culture difference? Who Korean like grinding which is why Aion is still top in Korea while it fails everywhere else? Korean don't even use their open world pvp because they think its bad to pk someone, but here everyone loves it.

From an exhausted experience with MMO's I can tell you straight faced that TERA brings nothing new to the table EXCEPT for their combat system, and even THAT gets boring & repetitive after level 20.

Do NOT buy into the hype. TERA is EXACTLY like the WoW-Clone model we keep seeing reused over and over. Go to town A, get all the available quests from there, go kill X number of mobs or get X number of items. Once all quests are done in town A move to town B that is POINTED to by one of the last quests to be given in town A.

Rinse, Repeat, get max level in 2-4weeks, get bored. After 3months of eating ALL the content over & over you'll leave again for the next "Overly Hyped" product.

Trust this from someone who has been there, seen it, done that, and continues to watch as the same crowed makes the SAME mistake over & over only to make forum posts such as: "I'm leaving, heres why...". Unfortunately, we already KNOW why you're leaving before opening your post in our browser. It just took you some time to see what most already saw, and avoided thereby saving them $105 ($60 box + 3 months sub).

Just like SWTOR, Rift, Aion, Alganon, Runes of Magic, Warhammer Online, etc. TERA brings NOTHING new, and continues to same old clone model.

HOWEVER, if you're looking for just another "time waster" for a certain game you've had your eyes on (for me, it's Planetside II at the moment) & $105 isn't much for you to waste go right ahead & love TERA until it turns blue in the face :D!

Just please, STOP with the "TERA is AMAZING, and will win a duel with GW2 every time!" threads. I don't like GW2 any differently than I like TERA, and in fact I've got PLENTY of criticism for GW2 as well. However, this type of self-denial hype will only trick other people into biased hype.

Finally, remember that with ANY product (especially those you WANT to love) a healthy amount of criticism is a GOOD thing.

    Thank you for reading,

    -Faded

That, and their combat system has been done better by other MMOs.

I don't see this game challenging GW2 or WoW, but it'll be a success and possibly a bigger success than SW:TOR. It has its niche with the Lineage II/Aion crowd.

Want to enjoy a game more? Don't make it a job. That's a problem some people are having. 60+ hours in a game that has not even been out a month is unbelievable. Go live life, enjoy being outside. Play when the weathers bad or for an hour or 3 once and awhile. You won't burn out inside a month, and be bored waiting on the next best thing.

You say bigger success than SWToR than say it will attract the crowd of two games that are beyond insignificant in the NA/EU market.  Aion has 4 servers and they arent exactly heavily populated.  I dont think either of those games are as successful as NGE version of SWG was.

Then don't charge me a sub fee to play it for only an hour or 3 once in a while. That is a waste of money IMO.

you pay 15 dollar for a 2hr movie -.- your cable cost you probably hella lot more than 15 dollar a month and you don't watch TV like its your fcking job either. You don't see anyone complaining about their cost, so why the fck do people constantly complain about mmorpgs? Serously even a fcking single player game last you maybe 60hrs really depend on the game and those cost like 60 bucks while mmorpg even if you play 2hr a day is 60 hrs for 15 dollar.....

Becuase monthly fees used to exist only because MMOs needed huge servers to handle the persistent world and massive amount of people playing together. No, everything is instanced and you rarely see more than 40 players on screen.

Well, for one thing, I don't go to movies cause I can rent them much cheaper. Also, I don't watch TV since I can watch any show I want online for free. Not my fault that you can't think beyond the fact that not all of us throw our money just cause you do. Lastly, before you even manage to think of it, I don't pay for my internet either. Seriously, learn to think before acting like a child next time cause you can't think beyond a simple concept that not everyone wastes money like you do.

Hopefully, GW2 will prove that P2P is not needed and show that it's an outdated concept. We have tons of console and PC games that have online capabilties that don't cost us more money on top of box fee, yet, MMORPGs can't seem to get past this concept cause they know they can get away with it, especially when they don't deserve it.

$15 really isn't a huge deal if your playing a few hours a week. I personally do not mind paying the $15 a month even if the game goes f2p w the option of a sub. I will still sub. $15 is nothing to play a MMO. If you walked into an arcade to play those games $15 bucks will be gone in less than an hour. So $15 is a bargain in MMO terms. To each his own.

Yeap, cause you know people still go to arcades all the time. Even so, I could just wait and play GW2, Borderlands 2 or a F2P and not worry about a stupid sub fee that nickle and dime casuals with too much money then they know what to do with.

Well if you feel t hat you have to get that much time out of $15 dollar well i guess thats your opinion. But to some of us $15 dollar a month is pretty good deal even if you don't play 60hrs a week. Btw renting movie is like what? 1dollar for 2hrs? thats still 30bucks for 60hrs while sub is 15 for a month and 2hrs a day is 60hrs. If you like the game you won't mind 15 dollar if you don't thats other story. Personal choice really, and GW2 going to depend on its cash shop, so just instead of cost split to everyone, a small group pay for it. And to get anywhere in most F2P games your going to pay hella lot more than 15 dollar a month in to cash shop.

Perhaps if people would stop paying for $15/1 to 3-month time wasters we'd start to see better games, maybe even multi-year time wasters.

I am looking at a potential multi-year time waster with TERA. Only time will tell though.

WoW and TSW have cash shops and are P2P. TERA will have Cronoscrolls which might as well be RMT that is authorized by En Masse. So, what makes the difference? As far as F2P games then you must suck at them cause I maxed out quite a few of them without having to pay a dime. So, your point is once again lost here.

Maxing lvl doesn't mean you get anywhere, you can max lvl but to compete with anyone your going to need cash shop most of the period. As for as WoW cash shop all i know is they offer like character transfer and allience changes? Not sure what other there is. TSW not even out, and Chronoscroll allow people to play for free, which is not cash shop, and RMT is to prevent gold selling. Never said there be any difference, its personal choice, if you don't feel that its worth 15 dollar a month don't play, many of us here feel it is and we will pay that 15 dollar a month. Our problem not yours.

Actually it was just an example and yes people still do. You also claim to be a casual gamer but you seem to frequent this board a lot so clearly you have more time on your hands than you claim. Obviously TERA is NOT the game for you.  So why not let the people who like it play it and enjoy it. You don't need to come in here and try to point out everything that is wrong like how $15 is a waste for casual players. Guess what some don't mind paying it. I think you mean to go to the Maplestory forums and not TERA's.

Also those games are about 60 each and equate to 8 months of an MMO right there. So if you're forking over more money for other games you're just paying over the sub/yr anyways.

You know what I would like to see? a clone of EVERQUEST!!! it was the best game I ever played!

I'd love a clone of EQ1 with Tera's graphics.   I hate the quest system in all  MMO's now a days.

That would be Everquest Next then. It is in development. From what I know they did 2 purposals for it a $100m version and a 20m version and they are going with the 20m version :/. While not an exact clone they do want it to be more like the original EQ.
