The surprise is....
"We loved the Build Wars name our fans came up with and we have renamed it WoW Wars, because thats all we did. We at Arenanet love how Bioware just came out and said "if you dont copy WoW your crazy," and we agree. We are offically changing the name of the game to WoW Wars"
I will use the power of deductive reasoning to splice the tweet into sections and use the power of the mind to conclude with 99% accuracy what it will be....

In a secret plot to kill off as many MMO players with one stroke, Anet cancels GW2.
Nah that would be too simple.....Anet announces the first public beta weekend but then tells us only those with US zip codes ending in an odd number whose phone number also ends in an odd number who are registered independents are eligible to sign up. This causes all of us to flood the post office, phone company, and local election office with requests to change our information thus causing the world as we know it to end. But we won't care as long as we get in the beta:)
Edited to add - actually this is a good idea - would stop all mail, phone calls, and people coming by my house while beta is going on.
It'll be a beta announcement or a way to sign up. It's not going to be anything immediate though. At the very, very earliest we're looking at March 2-4th.
I just want to know the release date. Heck, just give me the month it will be in and I'll be happy. I need to know now how my 2012 mmorpg gaming is going to pan out, everyone else has given release dates(except archeage) GW2 is basically the final piece of the puzzle. Gotta figure out which game is going to kill the time between now and the GW2 release. Right now it's Lotro, yet again, hehe. It's gonna be Tera for the month of May.
This is the first game that I've been excited for in a long time. I hadn't been following the game too closely until yesterday because I didn't want to buy into any hype both from the developers and the fans. However, after viewing countless videos and reading a cornucopia of write-ups, it seems like ArenaNet has done what any other developer in recent memory has failed to do: live up to their promises.
I'm shocked, and excited. Hopefully the announcement is beta signups for the general public.

Its going to be one of only a couple things. Beta signups, a beta timeline, collecters edition announcement, or release date. These are the things people want to know and I cant believe Anet is so crazy as to say something like this and then not give people something significant.
Oh and the whole EA comment. I am hiring a voodoo witch docter specifically for you. Not because I really care if GW2 is a failure or success but because NO self respecting game company deserves the EA treatment >.<
