Tera online Appeal to most female players

Nadya3Nadya3 Member Posts: 348

20 of my rl girl friends, are going to be playing Tera, they all seem to be loving the game.  the funny thing is that most of them  never played a MMO before.

so if you are looking for a MMO to play with your wifes or girlfriends, sisters, mothers or cousins.  you could introduce Tera to them.

i have been a veteran MMO gamer myself for quite sometime now,  and i most confess this is the first time i've been so eager and excited about playing game.

    Why this game in particular?

  • PivotelitePivotelite Member UncommonPosts: 2,145

It seems the forums have quite a few girls playing the game as well, some girls started up a girl fansite for TERA and our small guild already got 3 girl applicants, one left the guild though.

Maybe its the races, or the detailed armor, or pretty landscape...I dont know, seems to be a lot of girls playing TERA.

That´s funny, I thought the fact that it is impossible to find a female armor where you can´t see the panties under would turn off female gamers.

I guess that just shows that i don´t really know what female gamers want. :(

What is it that appeals to your female friends the most? Which race/sex combo? Is it the whimsical art direction (the realm of Arborea is a dream after all)?

I talked to one girl who said she enjoyed the skimpy armor and said that if her character had the body to show some skin why not show it. Lol, we may never know what girls want.

The product TERA is the subject in a Lawsuit that claims the source code for TERA is stolen property.

No one should be promoting this MMO until the legal procedings are completely finished.

Why do people still spew this nonsense? It was resolved a long time ago, En Masse even stated it would not affect the release of the game.

As far as I know it is NOT finished. Thanks for the tip, I will research some more today.

I'm going to do a little stereo-typing here and suggest that female players (not all) tend to enjoy cute and cuddly races. That is the only real reason why I think this game would appeal to them over another. Probably the same reason why Pandas in WoW will also be popular amoung girl gamers. Just my opinion though. Don't shoot me. LOL

I am sure no one will ever know what female mmo gamers truely want - similar to outside games. My GF is playing dungeon defenders with me at the moment and plays her character not for the abilities they have to offer but because it has purple hair. She played a ranger in Aion because it looked cute and had the name Lazerchild *shrug*.. the reasons to her playing will always continue to baffle me in any game.

All hail the Barn Owl! oh.. and the RED SQUIRREL!!!

Or worse, we might. Justin Bieber seems to be one of the things many of them wants...

Huh? They want to have fun, do they not? Like us guys.

lol it's kind of terrifying isn't it

Heard a study on what 3 things men want the other day. They were frequent sex, someone to do the basic house duties and time alone.

Pretty damn accurate if you ask me. What women want on the other hand is Sherlock level complicated.

Well like I said, En Masse stated it would not affect release at all, also no legal matters were ever filed against frogster so the game has no worries for EU launch.

Regardless NCsofts case is pretty weak.

    A small story about women.

A man walks on the beach of Malibu, gazing into the ocean and sighing. He kicks the sand and hits something. Digging the item up he finds an age old lamp. He rubs it a bit to remove the sand and grime of years and to his amazement, a genie appears!

"I am in your debt! Name a wish, any wish, and it will be granted", said the genie in a booming voice. The man gazed again to the western horizon and says: "I've always wished to go to Hawaii, but I'm afraid of flying and I get seasick really bad, so I've neved had the chance. I wish that you would build a highway from here to Hawaii so I could just drive there with my car!"

The genie laughs and says: "I'm sorry, but that's IMPOSSIBLE! It would take MILLIONS of tons of steel and concrete - not to mention that the pillars would need to be anchored to the bottom of an OCEAN. Not going to happen. You'll have to wish something else."

The man looks disappointed. "Well that's sad", he says. "I was so looking forward to taking my wife to Hawaii, because we've had some arguments and stuff lately. Sometimes I just don't... hey wait a minute! I know now what to do!" the man says with a smile on his face. "I wish that you would give me the ability to understand women!"

The genie looks appalled for a second, then quickly says: "Ok, would you like it to have six lanes or is four enough?"

And what would it be that you find so hard to understand about women?

Here was I thinking this was some hollywood cliché, women being some kind of alien hive mind.

    I salute you Sir!

And on a sidenote I'm proud to say that girls and women frequently tell me that I am able to understand them fully.

The strange fact about that is that I'm heterosexual lol

I call shenanigans, I'll bet most MMORPG players can't name 20 actual real life people who play MMORPG's, much less 20 female friends who do. image

MMORPG players interfacing with real life friends, c'mon, more believable that its raining cats and dogs outside right now.
