Have a look at the Battlestar Galactica MMO to see where this one will end up, it will boast 2 million registered players or something but 1.99 million will dismiss it as trash and never touch it again.

obviously many are upset that its a browser mmo. blame media, they think we want mobile games we can play on our ipads. sadly this game was not made for the hardcore mmo'er. i still will try it. i have found a few browser games with gameplay as good as high end mmos.

Unfortunatly it seems that once again that sandbox has to mean open world PvP. Now granted that they have not said this will be the case at this early stage, but this usually means that you are always PvP flagged. The reality is that not every player likes to PvP, and there are players who like PvP but not open world PvP.
It is funny how these open world pvp games keep coming and how they keep achieving mediocre success at best. The reason always seems to be "blah blah broken game system" or "blah blah game wasn't ready to launch". Can all of these gams just be that terrible? Or could it be that sandbox with forced open world PvP is not the recepie for success that a loud vocal minority would like everyone to believe?
Not every player line gets so old... WE KNOW THAT NOT EVERY PLAYER LIKES FFA PVP. Do you PVE players not get it? You have hundreds of games to choose from, but the second someone mentions FFA pvp you are all up in arms. It's ridiculous. Get a life already.

It's my understanding that Bigpoint is just a publisher is this the same development studio as BSG? Besides it's a totally different implementation than what was used with BSG. On top of that if it's F2P as most of BP's publsihed games are there's no risk in giving it a go.

Personally I'm more worried about supporting sub-genre's I want to see more of rather than boycotting an inevitable downside of the F2P genre.

I am curious to see how this will turn out to be.
I play the Board Game and I love the Lore (usually play House Tyrel), but was not confident of a good rendition of it in an MMO format.
